This spot just opened yesterday and I love that the West Valley has another place to buy secondhand books and media. In honor of Earth Month, I encourage everyone to shop used instead of buying brand new things. Secondhand bookstores like this offer a way to explore your sustainability journey at any budget. The store is well organized and I was pleasantly surprised by how many Anime-related things (think: figurines, collectibles, plushies, etc.) they have here. Many are brand new or in their original packaging. There's a wide selection of DVDs, CDs, and Blu Ray for sale here. There's also a decent clearance section of books in the back. The best part is they do buybacks here where you'll be able to get cash for any books, media, and collectibles that are still in good condition but you're looking to re-home. Plenty of parking as it shares a shopping enter with Target on Ventura and Desoto.

Came here for their grand opening at 10am. Was there about 9:36am and was around 20th in line. The cute mascot was entertaining us as we waited. At 10am they let us in and I was inundated with so much eye candy. Video games. Anime figures. Books. CDs. Vinyls. Funko pops. Comics. Plushies. This isn't just an anime shop, there is something for everyone. You could spend a long time just sifting through the immense inventory. I didn't stay too long as I had movie reservations but in the time I was inside, I was able to check out every aisle and spent about $26 on one graphic novel, three comics and a Funko pop figure. Come check it out. It's a fun shop and a welcome addition to the area

Like a lot of people, I saw Bookoff popping up on social media. Being a bookworm, I'm always down to visit another bookstore and grow my collection (physical books/media forever!). Located off of Ventura Blvd & De Soto Ave in Woodland Hills, Bookoff is a chain with other locations, but this is the only one in the Valley. It has a shared parking lot with other businesses so you'll find a spot no problem. You have to keep in mind that they just opened the store last week, so there's going to be some learning pains as time goes on. Honestly, I thought there would be more books. The selection currently available is a bit chaotic to say the least. I like that they have clearance sections that are marked for one or two dollars in the back. The aisles in the middle of the store are regularly priced, with all books separated by genre/authors. However, the way they decided to organize everything makes my eyes twitch! Genres will stop/start in the middle of a shelf, so one minute you're in the mystery/thrillers then the next book is the start of the erotic section. Go through the cookbooks and all of a sudden you're inundated with religious books. I get that maybe they don't have enough books to have completely separate sections for genres, but I think I'd rather have the empty spaces. It'd also be easier to replenish everything if they made room for more - as it stands, I honestly don't know how they would display any new inventory since everything is crammed together. A lot of store space is dedicated to figurines, anime collectibles, graphic novels, and comic books. They also have movies and TV shows on DVD/Blu-ray/4K, a large CD collection, some vinyl and even cassette tapes. If you're a gamer, they also have older systems and games for sale. There's two lines at the front counter - one for checkout and one for sellers. You can try to sell whatever you don't want (full list is displayed in store and online) for cash. With a lot of their selection being on the cheaper side, I can't imagine you'd get a high offer for most everything but what do I know. Overall I can't say that I'd go out of my way to return, but if you're in the area it might be worth checking out once. They have a lot of inexpensive things, but you'll have to dig around to find anything worthwhile. Since the store just opened, it gets a bit packed and the aisles aren't the widest so expect to be shoulder-to-shoulder in some parts.

This store is exactly what I mean. I loved the open book in Northridge when it was on Tampa and still when it moved inside the mall. Was excited when this location opened. I am a sucker for old books and this place has ample with a really cool ambiance to it. Kinda like a nerdy library. I say that because they also have comics, collectibles and even have a section for banned books. As if you're buying something taboo. Staff is always friendly, place is organized so you know where to look, they always have some type of deal going on. So great value no matter what you buy. So if you're in the hunt for something to read, just skip Amazon for a change and support your local bookstore. Let's keep brick and mortar stores alive!

All books, to my knowledge and memory, were sorted alphabetically by author last name. Prices were shockingly reasonable! It became too easy to rack up the total price; six books for fifty dollars! Perhaps it is an issue alone to compare, but one would not be able to get as many books of this quality at similar prices in bookstores like Barnes & Noble. I am unsure if the total price was altered by the "buy one, get one half off" sale that was active the day I purchased from The Open Book. I approached two staff members to see if they had a specific book available; the book was not in stock, but both staff members were very easy to approach, friendly, and genuinely helpful! I would recommend anyone to bear with the parking and traffic to check this shop out!

And this place? It gets it. There's something about flipping through dusty records that just hits different. It's like walking into a thrift store and catching that mid-century smell--you either understand it or you don't. I do. I live in band tees 90% of the time, and this spot is basically my natural habitat. I've built up little collections over the years--certain genres, classics I refuse to let go of--and being here made me actually consider bringing some pieces back in. But also... you never know when the internet might betray you, and suddenly that random DVD becomes essential again. The vibe here is unmatched, super nostalgic without trying too hard. And the service? Genuinely great. Friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all. Also--fell completely in love with a Madonna T-shirt that I absolutely need in my life. Definitely coming back. Easy five stars.

This is probably the largest selection of vinyl and CDs in the SFV, for sure worth checking out if you are the type that collects your own media... there's always a deal or two lurking if you look hard enough. Parking can be tight, there's a lot in the back and some street parking available, but it's a bit of a walk to the store if the spots in front are all taken. I notice a few people commenting on their experiences with the staff here, and it really depends on who you get. There's at least one employee who appears to think that this place would be great if it wasn't for all the pesky customers :-) however the vast majority of my interactions with the staff here have been very positive.

I saw they have Funko Pops here so I took a look to see which characters they had. Then I went to look at their Nintendo Switch games selection. The man working behind the counter was trying to help them by calling other GameStop stores to check if they have them. I saw they have some expensive PlayStation 5 controllers here as well. I also saw some Star Wars lightsaber and helmet that they kept close to the ceiling.
