I had reserved an item at this shop. Because of my religious observance, I was unable to pick it up on Saturday and asked to collect it on the next business day. Instead of offering flexibility, I was told the reservation would be canceled if I didn't come in that same day and that no refund would be issued. To me, this shows a lack of respect for customers' needs and circumstances, especially when those needs are based on faith. A reasonable business would provide at least a basic window of time or accommodation. Because of this rigid and dismissive policy, I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering a reservation carefully confirm the store's pickup terms in advance. My boyfriend comes to this game shop a lot. I figured I would come and have a look. I came on a Thursday, which is their board game night. The entry fee is $5.00. The $5.00 goes toward your merchandise purchase, such as water, snacks, a board game (only good up to 50% of the price), deck boxes, etc. They have a small kitchen area that is equipped with a fridge and a few other things. I wasn't sure if the owner, Tommy, allowed food from outside but I brought my sandwich anyway. He was okay with it as long as I didn't make a mess. Outside food trash goes in the trash bin outside the store though. The shop, itself was very clean. They host MTG tournaments on Fridays. They've got a sofa in the back with a bathroom. They also have tons of board games. Everyone was very friendly and I will probably be returning. The parking lot was spacious and I didn't have any problem finding parking. read more

Please update your hours. I made a 30 minute drive up here because I knew that Weiss Schwartz cards were available here but they were closed even though the Yelp says open until 6 and it's 4:36. I understand if they are on lunch and left a sign but there wasn't any other than they allow pick up orders at certain times. I don't know what's going on but I'm sure business would do better if you at least had the shop open for people to come check it out or update your info so people could know when the best times to visit or make orders before driving up here and finding out in person that a drive was a waste of time. read more

Being a tech and game guy, gaming goes hand in hand. When you have a gaming shop like this in the local area, you have to give it a try. The wife and I came here for our first time Thursday, and it was a great experience. We met Tom, and he is the son of the owner. He explained to us how the process works and the types of games that they have at the location. Thursday nights are game nights, when you come in, and you can either join in a game or pick out the game of your choice, then pick an available table to play. The cost is five dollars per person to get in, which is paid up front to Tom or the available cashier. The five dollars goes towards an in store account that you can use for the purchase of any game. The games we decided to place were Inca Gold, Ticket to Ride, and one other that I can't remember right now, but another great thing about this place is if your confused about any game, Jeff, will teach and play the game with you. You will also have a chance to meet other gamers. The time passes by so fast, before you know it its 10:00pm already. The atmosphere is great, and you will enjoy your time. Grab something to eat at Thai Valley, and then come over for game nights every Thursday. You will have a great time. read more

Okay, this is one of those of a dying breed of game shops where you walk in, and there are a million teenage boys playing D&D or Warhammer or Magic the Gathering on the plastic tables in the corner. But, aside from being a haven for the outcast, they really do have an excellent selection of games. So much so, that I wanted to document this place. So when I stood outside and took a picture of their store front, the owner came and started harassing me and asking me all these crazy questions. I guess he thought I was a terrorist or something, and I was gonna blow up his little gaming shop. Anyway, so I introduced myself and said it was for a website and wasn't a smart ass one little bit. I was gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was having a bad day. Then a friend and I came here another time with a jamba juice in hand. That same oddball owner was like, "No food." So I was like, "Alright, whatever" and left my jamba outside. Then, as I browsed, I noticed one of the teenagers with a Dr. Pepper. So I asked him straight up, "Why's the kid allowed to have a Dr. Pepper?" And the owner got all indignant with me and we got into a bit of a spat, but whatever. So I say that if you really need to find some oddball table top game, this is totally the place to get it. But seriously, the owner needs to switch to decaf or something. read more

I have to say that this place absolutely sucks. I went there for the express reason to go play in a Heroclix tourney. The a-hole moderator for the game shows up and tells me that I was not allowed to participate in the tournament because I didn't play on any previous tourneys. I pleaded with him to make an exception as I was visiting from Texas and he said no. I will never set foot in that store again ever. Not to support elitist jerks. I was going to purchase a game but decided not to as a result of the guy's poor behavior and attitude. They have lost a potential customer and I will make sure no one I know ever comes to this store. They get no stars from me but I had to put one regardless. UPDATE Two months later, I finally hear from the store on their Facebook page. They essentially come off as elitist jerks trying to justify their actions without so much as an apology. Bottom line is: Had there been an apology on the day of the incident, I probably would have not put in this negative review. It took them two months to respond to my FB review and they didn't even apologize. They responded in the same rude, elitist manner. PRO: With a huge selection of tabletop and board games, your sure to find such awsome games as Settles of Cattan or Ticket to Ride. Good trading card game selection (Magic, Yugioh, L5R, Pokemon, Naruto). Some access to XBOX 360s so you can play with your friends. Marvel vs Capcom 2 Arcade machine is probably the best thing there. CON: This place is a staggering beast. I've seen this gameshop go through several incarnations and the latest one is fading fast. It's hard to maintain profitability when your shop is not on the newest wavelengths of product. Also this place is poorly ventilated. I guess i'm hard on it because it used to be more fun to be at. This place has gotten a whole lot better than when it first started. The crowds here can be pretty insane but it really is only on tournament days. Their selection of board games and trading card games has expanded quite a lot. They also finished remodeling the new half of the store and it's really helped the place get more customers. A nice thing they have going is Board Game Night (BGN) every Thursday from 7-12. The crowd is usually the same every week with a few coming in and out every few weeks. My one problem with this place is that the owners haven't repaired the air conditioning. When you're in a room with 12 other guys who don't think showers exist, it becomes a pretty big deal. Other than that, it's definitely a great place to find challenging and fun games for everyone. read more

Extremely rude staff, they overcharge and are very rude if you are not a regular. I used to go here with a friend who them very well and they were very nice to me and gave me great prices, however a few years later now I return and not recognizing me I ask the price of several products and they were very rude and told me prices that were way higher than retail value. Do yourself a favor and don't support these jerks, I understand being nice to customers you're familiar with but to completely want to cut off people who are not within your usual community is outrageous. There are alot more friendly places that actually treat you with respect and charge at the worst retail price. They may have a good selection of games but the problem is that when I went there it took a good 15 minutes before someone would even talk to us let alone help us. In a day and age where you can go online and get these games for the same price or cheaper in some cases, this is no way to do business. And they are not helping themselves having tables in front of what they are selling with losers playing card games who wont move so you can look at it. It's funny that they care more about people who sit there, play games, and not spend money than people who were willing to spend 100s of $$$ if we would have been helped right away. Alright, I'm seeing some reviews that don't have a complete understanding. No, I'm not saying you can dislike a place... you can, but at least get some information down. Nobody to help you around? What are you some sort of VIP? I mean you wouldn't whine about that if you were in say... Toys R'Us or anything! Seriously, if you need help, ask for it... other than that, appreciate any help you can get. I mean there are people who do prefer shopping alone too. They are serving the kids that play there because it's a community store as well. Kids from the area come here and bond together, rather than being in the streets doing who knows what. They offer tables and play areas for them. Give them a talk, they are gamers as well. Just because you aren't comfortable with other gamers, doesn't mean you should rate the store poorly. They do spend money at times in tournaments and stuff. They CARE about the community they build... say the same thing to your McStore who can give a booger to what you think. Well if you were to take a picture of my store, I'd feel a bit awkward as well... so I am not surprised that you were approached. The reason why there is no food allowed is because it happens to get knocked around. Now if this was a playground, sure who cares because it's not yours. But the specialty games sold here can cost in the upwards of $50, $80 or more. And yes, they do sell their own drinks, but it is not too cold to create condensation to damage games. All Ways Gaming is a store that serves the community and is one of the dying breeds of a game store that you can actually stay and play in. Board gaming to most people stops with Monopoly or Risk. It's however quite a new world when you see the types of games in this store. There are board games where you work together AGAINST the game. Isn't that something? Then there are games where you level up your character. There are so many new games that this store has that the generic Wal-Mart does not. I highly suggest you try Ticket to Ride... fantastic. Now what this store offers is a lot. I mean when they say All Ways Gaming, they really mean just that. You have your trading card games like Magic, board games, a DDR machine, a PC cafe and even some arcades. They offer table space and air conditioning... that is part of the reason why their prices might not be able to match online competitors. They offer tournaments on the weekends and even a board game night as well. They recently went through a renovation and look incredible with so much more room. Granted there is still some stuff lying around, but where else can one find a place to buy and PLAY games in the valley? I highly recommend you check out their store. It's got a lot of things to see and Beverly, the owner will suggest the best for you. She's friendly and willing to show what she's got. If she doesn't have it, then you can ask her to special order a game and get it (that's how I got my copy of Pandemic). I visited this place months ago and was just so "meh" about it that I've been putting off trying to write this review. Well I guess I'll give it a shot though. Space: This shop is so weird. When you first walk in you notice a wall of board games, the room they're in is a weird design and has a nice dinning room table in it for some odd reason. I feel like this is someones apartment because a lot of space is inaccessible and well I'll get to that later. On the right is where their counter is and for some reason they have two counters/display cases in here. The whole room looks like it's not really set up because there is nothing in them but trash and they take up a ton of room to fulfill no purpose. When you head towards the back of the store from here is there play area and this is what I was talking about earlier. It's a kitchen. There's a small table and a counter that people can play things at and then a full-sized fridge, oven, and other kitchen appliances. I really felt like I was intruding into someone's house that they decided to run a card-shop out of. All together not enough space or well a good amount but just disastrously utilized. Products & Pricing: They had a good amount of board games but only the really popular ones, and when you get down to looking at them you'll notice that there aren't actually that many but they just own a lot of expansions for board games. They have no RPG section. They also had your typical magic stuff. The board games were MSRP and the sleeves were decently priced. Customer Service: There was one guy working and when I walked in I don't think he even said anything to me. He seemed very awkward just standing behind the counter. It was rather weird. When I asked about RPGs to verify that they had none he was fine so umm ya. Friday Night Magic, Tournaments, Etc.: I went in on a Wednesday around noon and there were 7 people playing a magic draft. Once again, it was weird. It was nice to see people there though and doing stuff at an awkward time but because of the lack of space it didn't seem that great. I haven't actually been back so I'm not sure if there normally aren't people there but I imagine Wednesday at noon is a weird time for people to draft so they're probably there a lot. I asked the guy about anything they did also, gaming nights or tournaments and he just said Friday Night Magic so not very good there. Conclusion: I don't think I can accurately sum up what I've said above for this conclusion in any way other than: This store is weird. read more

This place is horrible, first off I walk in the store and everyone starts looking at me and my brother... We ask for their Yugioh Selection and one of the employees there, tells us with a very prick tone , "I don't Know Nobody really plays with Yugioh Anymore" me and my brother both look at each other and we were shocked. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!! The only probably good thing about this place is one of the employees. His name is Pete I believe, terrific service, very nice. The place itself is just bad. Its a game store that looks like a house quite confusing in my opinion. The prices on board games are pretty fair but everything else is over priced. There is one more thing i would like to say about this place, there is this big guy that works there and he is nice to a point but he I noticed he is always picking his nose. And then he is helping customers as if nothing has happened but that right there is just gross. Wash your hands sir jeez. Or better yet don't pick your nose in public!! OK so I ve been here a couple times and i got to say that this place is not very good. I am sorry to say this but its my opinion. The thing that made me kinda mad was their recent event when they Pokemon event, but on that same day they had 2 other card tourneys and on top of that they had a magic prerelease. The space they had was so small that it couldn't really fit everyone comfortably. Another thing I would like to address is their pricing on there cards. I know that prices fluctuate on cards, but when an employee there has to check every time it kind of just bugs me. All in all the staff there is really nice and are willing to help out with any question, probably the best thing about the place. I love this store. I remember when it first opened as a kid I was very excited but now that I'm an adult and play Magic The Gathering, this is my go to place. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Always answering questions and helping. I have changed this review to 5 stars because my previous review said they weren't always open when I would go here or them not answering the phone sometimes was actually my misunderstanding. I'm kind of torn on the one hand I really liked one of the workers there, on the other, I was getting ripped off for my cards. I mean I like this store, but that experience made me really want to not come back, I mean they say they will buy cards at 50-65% of what they will say, but I don't think that a Cranial Plating would be sold at $1 a piece, the guy, Sean if you're curious, pulled out a good $70 in cards and offered me $16-20!
