Excellent bookstore! They have a wide selection of books including new releases and back issues all in excellent condition! It's one of the larger comic bookstores in the San Fernando Valley. You can sometimes find a 2-3 month old raw book still at cover price on the stands. You can tell this shop is run by people who truly care about comics and their clients. Amazing store. The young lady who seems to always be working was there in the two visits I have made to this place. Her knowledge base on comics is superb and can really help guide you. Also their back issues are so well organized it makes finding a specific back issue by character a breeze. Most other places just store their back issues in a box mixed with everything so it's like a needle in a haystack, but not at galaxy of comics. This used to be a great store, maybe a little overpriced, but with a fantastic back issue selection and very well organized. Now every time I come in the store I am overwhelmed by the smell of cat urine. The cats have always been there, and are very sweet, but only within the past six months has the smell been so strong that I can't stay in the store for more than five minutes. I've been to plenty of bookstores with cats, never once have I smelled anything like this. It's a damn shame and I'm shocked this hasn't been referenced in any reviews here. read more

Do you like comic books, nerd culture, and high fives? (Well, no high fives during Covid... but the staff seems like they're down for a good, old fashioned, two person hand clap!) As a female, going into a shop that you've never been to can be awkward and/or frustrating. The stigma that females don't know anything about comics is real, and I've experienced it at several stores in LA, despite collecting comics since I was a kid. Not here! I was immediately greeted and helped right away. Not only that, but I was given a great suggestion on a new comic that I may like based on my taste. Several, actually. Both staff members that I spoke with went above and beyond with kindness and great customer service. They're so party! Oh, and they have cats that add to the ambiance. 5 stars. One of the coolest shops I have been to. Great customer service and a large variety of books that touch on subjects that other book stores are afraid to get involved with. Do yourself a favor, take the kids, a significant other or your cat/dog and get lost at this shop. You will find that book that you didn't know you were looking for. I have a slight obsession with Rocket Raccoon. Okay, well maybe not slight, but I digress. Anyways, I found this awesome comic book shop along my quest to find back issues of Rocket from before he was a more popular character. I called last week and spoke to Warren and he had one in stock along with a newer book that I had been wanting. He put them on hold for me and I finally got to drive down to Van Nuys to visit the store yesterday. This shop is so awesome! They literally have everything that I could ever want, and their children's superhero books were amazing. I got to meet Warren and he was so friendly and inviting, it was just a great experience. I'll definitely be back, especially when I start introducing my daughter to comics and super heroes. Thanks for an awesome visit and I'm so excited you had exactly what I wanted in stock! What keeps me coming back here even though it's a bit out of the way is the store is so chill. Lots of space to walk around and browse, TONS of new comics (including variants) on the wall, back issues, graphic novels... and if that's not enough, there are cats to say hello to! (Pugsley is especially friendly) Props also go to the young woman who is usually working there when I go in - she's always full of recommendations and is all around just very nice. I'm sorry I can't remember her name or I'd call her out! If I were to offer any feedback at all? I know there are some discounted comics and books but they're sometimes hard to find in a centralized area - but that might be my fault for not looking well enough. Other than that... I can definitely say this is a really good comic book shop. Everyone that works here is really nice. They have quite a decent selection of comics and their pricing seems fair from what I've seen so far. One thing I will say and it's not really a knock against them, but the parking is extremely difficult in this structure so definitely anticipate a hard time parking. Sometimes there may not be a spot or a very difficult spot to park once again. That's not a knock against them, but something you should be aware of. Easily the best comic book store in the Valley. I came with my daughter, and they've got a great selection of kid-focused comics. They're all in one section, so your six year old doesn't have to dig through Frank Miller's collected works to find the Amazing Spider Ham. They've got a great selection that's has a lot of diverse stories, authors and characters, locally-created indie comics, LGBTQ+ stories, etc. But the best thing here is the staff. The person who was working our first time there (Abel, maybe?) was amazing. They welcomed us in and talked to my daughter (and not down to my daughter) to get an idea of what she was interested in, then made some really thoughtful recs on what she'd like. It was exactly what you want from a comic book store, and it's the kind of thing that helps a kid become a lifelong fan of comics. As long as you're not allergic to cats, this is the place for you. If you are, buy something off their website, because this is the kind of place you want to stay in business. read more

Had a bad experience coming in to my first time after living right down the street for years curious to see what they had to offer. Asked a simple question and got responded to very rudely and when I called another comic store, they were able to help me with what I was looking for so I don't understand what the guy's problem was. Selection isn't the greatest in terms of what I was looking for as well so that was a bummer but the store overall looks really cool. It's a cute little shop with a lot of stuff. The staff is so kind and helpful. But the real reason to go is the two shop cats. They're usually sleeping somewhere in the store so it's a hunt for the cats and for the comic you're looking for. They do have lots of comics, manga, and books.
