I am absolutely furious with the way this location handled my order! This has been one of the most frustrating and unacceptable shopping experiences I have ever had. I honestly feel like this business tried to keep my hard earned money without providing the product I paid for! I placed an order online for store pickup, expecting a simple and straightforward transaction. However, I NEVER received an email, phone call, or any notification letting me know that my item was ready for pickup. Absolutely NOTHING! After waiting and receiving no communication whatsoever, I finally decided to call the store myself to find out what was going on. To my complete disbelief, I was told that my item was no longer available because I had failed to pick it up. ARE YOU SERIOUS? How exactly was I supposed to know my order was ready when nobody bothered to notify me? Instead of taking responsibility for their complete failure to communicate, the employees had the audacity to blame ME! As if that wasn't insulting enough, they informed me that the only way to recover my money was to physically drive to the store, and even then, they would only offer STORE CREDIT! STORE CREDIT? FOR AN ITEM I NEVER RECEIVED? WITH MY OWN MONEY? ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! Why should I be forced to spend my money at a business that has already demonstrated such terrible customer service? Why should I have to waste my time, gas, and energy driving to a location just to recover money for merchandise that was never provided to me? I had to get my credit card company involved to dispute the transaction because this business apparently believes it can keep customers' money and dictate how they get it back. The entire situation feels like a scam to me, and I am seriously concerned about these business practices. I intend to report this incident to the appropriate consumer protection authorities and submit a complaint to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center for review if warranted. What makes this situation even worse is the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect for paying customers. A reputable business should make things right when it fails to fulfill an order, not blame the customer and force them to accept store credit. Just preordered my ascended heros booster bundle and picked it up to open later in the day. Got an amazing surprise of the product being tampered with and came back the next day to be told its the "type of glue" this batch was using so thats why it was so easy to open the packs. im should probably also assuming its also the reason why i slightly bend the wrapping and the pack is already half opened. Not a single hit is understandable from a set like this but then I said screw it Ill put my money on the line and have me a fun little experiment. Went to one of my regular card shops to buy a bundle for 110$ and what a surprise, the packs were firm and sealed and the owner even went ahead and ripped open the entire bundle to have me feel how the pack felt like and it felt like the 1000 other packs ive opened in the past 2 years. Complaining because even though the DM was called to see if they can resolve the situation i got this whole "its the glue thats been reported by other locations too story" no refund or product exchange that I couldve opened right in front of them. Im not entirely mad at the staff but just pissed how this whole thing was handled. If they get their product directly from pokemon center as they say this shouldnt be the standard they send out their product in. To finalize this all, be wary of pre orders and possibly other things with hype sets like this or else you might be throwing money into the abyss for real with 0 chance of anything. One of the very few stand alone gamestops nowadays since most have closed or you can only find them in shopping malls. Pretty good location! We found some good plushies that you don't typically find at other locations. Staff are friendly and this one smells and feels clean. They had some cute tiny funkos that we always see but they had a really good selection here so we actually bought a set! It was the wall-e one with Eve and Ratatouille. It comes with a secret one and we got Joy from Inside Out. We also found some rare Pokémon jazwares figures that just came out recently but luckily one of our friends sent us one already (Floragato). Pricing is always great and we had a $5 reward for the membership so we spent it on the mini Funko! Always great to see GameStops in the wild and always a must to check out what they have. read more

The service at this location is absolutely amazing. I'm specifically speaking about Dylan. Not that the other staff aren't great, every time I've had an issue I've been assisted by him and have had all of my questions answered. I had an issue with the Van Nuys (The Plant) location due to their chief of staff (Mike I believe) being completely unprofessional, lying to both my girlfriend and I to our faces and having me search for another GameStop for a better experience. All in all, Dylan is always there to assist me and ensure I leave 100% satisfied knowing that I'm a loyal gamer that is going to return in the future. I really appreciate the Burbank location for always being so busy but making every experience swift and satisfying every time I come in. I just want to bounce off of John S.'s review on Feb 19. I walked into the store and he was already at the register being unnecessarily rude to the cashier. Talking down to him, swearing at him, not providing information needed to process the return, and making unreasonable requests (asking the employee to "brake" (break) the game he was returning in front of him). Just making the return process unnecessarily complicated. And all over a bad copy of a game he was trying to return. The employee seemed to be keeping his composure very well for what was happening. I'm sure the "hand shaking" was due to the customer, and not drugs as John accused him of. I ended up behind John in line so after he finished his little tantrum, I was helped by the same employee. Still keeping a calm composure, but I could also see he was a little shaken/upset by the ordeal (understandably). Despite that, he still provided good service to me. The product I was looking for was out of stock, but he was able to help me find some alternatives. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Im sure most people don't read reviews for retail stores before visiting then, but for those that do, I'm leaving this review to give a third person perspective on John's 1-star review in case that is swaying your decision to visit. Also if you check his profile, you'll see he only leaves bad reviews. I don't think he'll be satisfied in any case. I forgot the employees name, but I commend him for how he handled the situation. The Game of Burbank's Empire Center is probably one of my favorites. They have excellent service and plenty of items in-stock, including collectible, clothing and various memorabilia. This store is a little smaller than other locations you might of been to which also makes it feel more intimate and welcoming. This location is in the Hangar 28 area around the way from BevMo and across the parking lot from Sharky's with lots of familiar food spots and small businesses. read more

I went to this store to buy the GameCube game Lord of the Rings: Return of the King to play on my actual GameCube. I also asked for a GameCube-specific controller so I could play it in multiplayer mode. Despite clearly requesting a GameCube controller, the staff sold me a Nintendo Switch controller and assured me it was compatible. When I got home and opened the box, I realized it was not compatible, and there was no adapter included. I called the store immediately and was told to come back the next day when a manager would be available to help. I returned the next day, only to be told they couldn't do anything because the box was opened--even though I only opened it because they told me it would work with my system. They knowingly sold me the wrong item and then refused to refund it, despite the fact that I explained the mistake was entirely theirs. It feels like intentional deception. They took my money under false pretenses and then smiled as they told me they "couldn't help." This is dishonest, unethical, and unacceptable. read more

Both times I received items that had nothing to do with what I ordered. I contacted customer support multiple times and instead of fixing the problem, they kept delaying and asking questions that were already answered in my emails. After more than two weeks, I still don't have the item I paid for, and they haven't issued my refund yet even though it was clearly their mistake. This whole experience has been a waste of my time, energy, and money. If you value your time and want to receive what you actually order, avoid shopping on GameStop.com. My social security number, address or whatever information is needed to apply for credit with Gamestop was used to open a credit account for $2500 account their preferred bank, Citizens Bank/1 Citizens Bank without my permission. I found out because the Xbox was sent to my home address. I called Gamestop 800 customer service number immediately asking what this was for. I gave them the tracking number and receipt number and the person I spoke with seemed unable to find who ordered and when. After about an hour on the phone with the person that could not seem to find any information on the Xbox that was sitting in my living room, I asked to speak to a manager. He told me no managers were available and that someone would get back to me later in the day. I gave him my email address and the next day instead of a manager reaching out, I got a copy of the receipt for the purchase and nothing else. I reached out again and was told them I did not order this and would like to close the account and return the Xbox. I was told that I needed to speak to someone at Citizens Bank since they authorized the credit. After calling Citizens I was told to call the special fraud department which is 1 Citizens Bank. I attempted to call 1 Citizens and the first time after being on hold for 30 minutes I had an appointment so I couldn't hold the line. I called back the next day and was told to return the Xbox to a local store or by mail. I was also told a claim was filed and I would get some information that I needed to sign and send back in the next 3-5 days until now, I have not received ANY correspondence from them. Nothing confirming the call at all, weird again. I took the Xbox to the Burbank location and gave it to a guy named Jose. He told me their system was down and he could not process the return because he needed to be on the phone with someone from customer service to process a return. weird. I left the Xbox with Jose and asked him to give me a call, once the item was returned in their system. After three days, I called back to the store and could not get through. The next day I decided to go back to the store and there was a note on the door "I will be on lunch until 5:30". I called back to the store around 7pm and spoke to a guy name James who told me that he was unaware of my issue and that Jose would be back the following day and I should call him. It's been 7 days since I got the Xbox in the mail and still no correspondence from Gamestop or 1 Citizen Bank about this fraud. Another important fact is that one of the customer service reps I spoke with mentioned to me that this was not an isolated incident. She had a few people in the last week, with the same issue. I have placed a Fraud Alert with the three credit bureaus since then and hope for the best.....No resolution yet from Gamestop, weird. read more

A couple who were 2 positions ahead of me in line; once they got to the counter they asked for the same game I wanted. The guy gave them a total friendly conversation and was like "yeah we've got plenty of copies cause you came early in the day". Once it got to me, he was like "mmmm idk if we have any left". Dude why are you being that typical GameStop employee? You just said there's enough and you were nice to the other people, but to me you're a jackass. He rings me up, the receipt prints, and he walks away to help the next people. So I stood there for another minute and I'm like "yeah thanks", took my game, took my receipt off your printer, and left. You guys do this every single time I come in here. That's why your company is a joke.
