Hello Five Below at The Plant in Van Nuys/Panorama City. This location is nicely run and one of the few where you don't have to self check-out, as most of the machines weren't active or in use from what I could tell. They always have a good variety at any Five B, but this one was a little poorly kept in places. The service was great, the prices are stellar, and there's ample parking being next too/near larger places such as Ross, Burlington and the former Party City location here. I did find a few things I needed, but not all as some things weren't in stock. The location in North Hollywood is nicer, but I can see they're making strides to improve. Not sure why a lot of the refrigerated beverages are set up they way they are with removed doors... Feels like the concept to execution lost a step. read more

It's Five Below. For the most part you get what you expect. Most items are $5 and below but some sections have stuff over $5. This location usually has easy to find parking. And its decently maintained. I got no complaints. All in all a really good selection. Most people will hop onto Amazon but you should really check stores like Five Below first. You might save more and you can actually see the item in person. Or stuff you didnt expect. I don't buy chocolate bars as much these days but I saw some Twix I didn't expect. Cookies n creme! Yeah I'm disconnected from reality lol. They also had salted caramel and cookie dough. Score! They have big selection of toys for an affordable price. If you are a Sanrio Characters fan, I would suggest visiting this store. They usually have different selections of Hello Kitty items like headphones, air purifier and toys. They have a stationary selection which prices are very reasonable compared to other stores. They have great seasonal items like we're approaching Easter. They had a variety of Easter Baskets to choose From. They had candies/ chocolates and snacks that were perfect for Easter Basket. My wife and I stopped by this Five Below store tonight inside the Plant plaza. We wanted to see what they might have for our gender reveal party. We came like an hour before the store closes so they were kind of busy. We didn't really walk throughout the whole store. We looked at their sugar rush area and beyond 5 area. What an incredible price for seasonal items and year-round t-shirts and gadgets. This past November I was able to get a 6ft artificial Christmas Tree for $20. It's perfect for my single son who just purchased his first condo. It's the perfect size for him. I tend to go here during seasons to get the perfect T-Shirt. They have hair and nail accessories, games, toys, books, candles, snacks and some nostalgic candy. I've gotten a Peanuts Halloween T-Shirt and a Pacman T-Shirt and earrings. Here's What I Think... Five Below is a great place to go shopping, but here is not as great. Self checkouts were fine, but most of the items were out of stock!!! The employees weren't even doing their job and they were just walking around the store doing nothing. A dog bed was $12 not $5, it's called Five Below for a reason!!! Don't do their online pick up I did and they said the had items then later said they didn't have them now I have to wait for my refund . They say to have the stuff available for pick up and they don't only the little things you ask for and the items you really want they don't really have but say that they do on their website . Forsythe has bad customer service in store. I only found 1 nice person. I go in to buy 2 items. I used the self checkout: problem 1. I used it but my items were between prices of 1-10.00. I bought them buy it was weird. Usually at self checkouts the price you pay..is the price you pay. I ended up paying 8.21. I was a bit unsure n lil . I stayed calm about situations like this. I was about to leave but decided I wanted to get this taken care of. Problem 2 I went back in and all there seemed was 3 girls all young looking between ages of 15-20. One girl came to front desk area which I guess it's cs but very small area. The black girl rang the bell while the Caucasian one went to the area ,grabbed her water bottle and walked away. Hmmm??? So I waited for this other girl who had to call the store manager like 3 x to figure out what I was owed. At first, they said: well 60 cent is what's left after this amt. I decided to get a refund and to NEVER SHOP at that store again. The Girl who seemed oriental/ of another race, she got an attitude with me about $$ etc. I thought : why would anyone if you're a so called manager contact someone else to decide on what to do. First of all I love Five Below ever since it opened . But this location in Van Nuys is the worst . This is the second time they did not have available the items I did for store pick up. I went in today the store was such a mess the check out area was so full of go backs I could not believe . I only really noticed 2 workers there. Each isle was was messy. Items on the floor. I was recommended this place by my Coworkers who had shopped here and told me I would find great items for under $5. Honestly I didnt find much and the items I would get were overpriced, even if it is $5. I got my daughter a bluetooth speaker which doesnt work too good and the sell the charger and charging port seperate so basically you are paying $10 for the charger. Probably wont go back unless I truly need something that only they offer. read more

I love bargain stores. Seriously. I LOVE them. However, due to inflation, it seems that our typical dollar store is finding it difficult to keep things at or under a buck these days. Modernization brings in "Five Below," an East Coast staple. This is a more current approach to the dollar store model, but keeping prices $5 and below. This also means they can offer more variety than dollar-oriented stores like t-shirts, home decor, etc. And despite their name - No, this isn't a winter store. I've been to this particular Five Below a few times. It's one of the two closest stores to my home with this location tucked away in the Van Nuys Plant shopping complex. Compared to some of their other stores I've visited in Aurora OH, San Dimas CA, Porter Ranch CA, Anaheim CA, and Glendale CA, this location seems to have constant merchandizing issues. There always appears to be an overhaul of some sort going on here mid day and a bit of disorganization within their displays compared to their other stores. So here's the question: Is it the store's team or the community that leads to this kind of disorganization? Sure, I get that might be a chicken or the egg question. On my last visit a few days ago, I was with my wife and 2-year old child. All of a sudden, I desperately needed to use the restroom after a day of consuming a lot of water at the beach. Five Below stores always have two single occupancy restrooms, and Van Nuys was no exception - except this store has codes to get in. When I asked one female staff members if I was able to use a restroom, she coldly told me the restrooms were closed with no alternative solutions and resumed her task at hand. Okay, with that, I walked back to my wife who was pushing my son in a shopping cart on the opposite wall from the restrooms, explaining that we're going to need to wrap it up soon since their restrooms were closed and I really had to pee. As soon as we walked around the back wall towards the restrooms again, I saw a different male worker casually go into one of them. I then begged him if I could use it, promising to make it quick and clean, even demonstrating my awful potty dance. The guy had a heart and reluctantly let me use it, where I did exactly as I promised. The restroom was somewhat clean, as I just noticed a broken soap dispenser. The toilet looked fine and wasn't clogged. There was no signs of disrepair or a recent crisis taking place. I honestly couldn't pinpoint why it was closed to customers. As soon as I washed my hands and left, the female employee who originally told me it was closed and a large male employee seemed to be waiting for me outside the restroom door, lightly grilling me as to who let me in. I didn't describe the offending employee other than saying "him," and they went to go looking for the employee that broke a rule. Honestly, I felt like I was in a weird position. As a former retail manager of 20+ years myself, I wouldn't stand for this behavior from my staff. I felt like I was now in a place where this kid could get reprimanded if not terminated for showing a customer some heart. Ultimately, I didn't have to leave the store to find a restroom because of the one employee that demonstrated empathy, and in turn we made a lot of purchases after finding some good stuff. Sadly, the cleanliness and professionalism of this store needs to come up to the standards I've seen in other Five Below locations. This is not a store which has demonstrated good morale to me based upon my visits and observations. Maybe I've been unlucky each time I've visited. I can own that. That's likely. But with the average Yelp reviews of 3-stars so far, I think they have some work to do. read more

If I could give zero stars I would at 6:30 pm I couldn't purchase anything because the cashier didn't have change for a $100 dollar bill I don't live close and what a shame poor customer service just a blank stare so if you're shopping at this Five Below bring cash in lower bills because the ATM doesn't work sometimes also ‍ read more

i went to this place today with a friend, we saw squishmallows and i got 3 she got 2. we live in SEPARATE households we literally just came to the store together and we also paid separately. when i tried to pay for my 3 squishmallows the girl told me i had to leave one because they were putting a limit on them and my friend had just bought 2. it made no sense for her to make me leave one when i literally paid separately and we don't live in the same household ?? plus she was really rude and had her mask down her nose which was pretty gross in my opinion. no logic in her saying I couldn't take my 3 because if i had came separately with my friend i would have been able to take 4 anyways. read more
