As a parent I enjoy the little things... like on a hot day, enjoying comfort of strolling through a mall with my daughter to hang out. My daughter has always loved this store. We'll usually go in and window shop and she has a blast looking at all the cool stuff. Today was like another of those experiences but with an extra very refreshing cherry on top. Sarah who worked here, was absolutely fantastic. From entering the store and welcoming us with a warm greeting and asking us if we need assistance to the gold standard checkout experience. We love coming here for the amazing products and nostalgic items as well as the amazing selection and atmosphere. Everything is very fairly priced and valued really well. I always enjoy coming here for my daughter and for my own interest. I hope this store stays here at the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square mall for years to come and it's highly recommended for all. We absolutely love this store. Anytime we're at the mall we always make sure that we stop in. We're a big board game and puzzle family and this is the best store for both of those things in the San Fernando Valley that I'm aware of. It is located inside the mall so be aware of that. They have a good selection of games, they have a really excellent selection of puzzles. I'm sure this is driven by what sells for them but they have way too many Funko pop figures for me. That's not my thing, and it takes up a lot of space in the store. But I'm sure they sell a lot of them. They also have some great toys, although not a great selection of them. Everyone here who works here is friendly and helpful. We've never had any issues there. I will say their recommendations are not always great. The main thing that does bring this store down a little bit is just how expensive some of the things can be. It's pretty often that you can find the same item for less money on Amazon. I know that makes me sound heartless, and I love supporting shops like this, but sometimes the price difference is very considerable. But overall it's a great store, definitely check it out. read more

We drop by every now and then but today we had some good finds and excellent customer service! I feel like this one always moves around but it's been getting better and better. We found some rare Pokémon jazwares figures today which was great! The guy who helped us this afternoon also complimented my Moogle hair clip along with helping us find what we needed. We only wanted to pick up some pokemon figures but he told us they got some new boxed one of a Charizard statue which came in a really fancy box and pokemon tcg packs! The prices were fantastic so of course we picked one up. Will definitely share photos once we get around to unboxing. This is a store with a lot of toys, board games and etc. I stopped by this store inside Westfield Sherman Oaks mall because my wife was taking forever trying on clothes at the store next door so instead of waiting for her there, I came in to check out this store. When you walk inside, you'll see some airplane flying inside so it will grab your attention. I checked out their Lego collections, board games, Funko pop, puzzle game and etc. A employee approached me and asked if I needed any recommendations or help but I told him I was just browsing so he told me to let him know if I need assistance. They have a lot of stuff here so you'll probably like the stuff they have, I didn't really look at the prices so I can vary. read more

I just had the best customer service at Mind Games in Sherman Oaks. I called the store and spoke to Sarah about a return. She took my phone number and said she would call back with an answer and she kept her word and called me back after speaking with the manager. I then came in and met with the manager, Tim, who I have seen over the years almost every time I come in. Tim is always so kind, friendly and helpful. He always makes you feel like a valued customer. I wanted to share what incredible customer service I received by Sarah and Tim. I highly recommend this store. Nothing brings a child more joy than going to the mall and being able to go into a toy store and this was been my experience with my children over the years at Mind Games. Relatively spacious board game/novelty item and hobby shop on the 2nd level...formerly on the first but they've expanded... great place to get the classic board games like Clue and Monopoly, but also the limited and/or special additionals. Great deals year round and top notch fun friendly board gameristas (just made that up)... they have a few cool demo toys and what not out for display near the check out for kids, teens and the kid in all of us. read more

Well this place has gone downhill... Went in to try and buy a game for a work thing tomorrow, but couldn't because the teenage employee was showing knives to some teenagers who definitely didn't need to be buying knives. The owner was less than no help and even though they've got two registers said he couldn't ring me out. Ended up leaving without checking out because the clearly underage children buying bowie knives in a game store in a mall decided they didn't want the knives they'd spent at least 20 minutes picking out and wanted different knives that would have involved getting back into a locked case, and the teen working there didn't have the skills to deal with the situation and I've got better things to do that watch wannabe delinquents play with knives. Owner was nowhere in sight. Ive gone out of my way over the years to buy games from this store, but I guess Amazons getting my money going forward. read more

Don't go in there with children! This store used to be toys but now include adult toys and s&m gear in the back. I used to take my kids in to shop and look around for fun, but will not be going back since this new move they made. read more

Mind Games indeed. From the window display, you think you're going in to a Toy Shop, as the window is stuffed full of My Little Pony, and every YouTuber endorsed toy your kid could ever want, and nothing else. After a couple of aisles of the store though, you see it's actually a store that's an entire wall of collectible Pokémon, Frat boy drinking games, and I kid you not, behind the counter, a wall full of knives and swords.. my young daughters and I had a horrible experience with the staff member here, and faulty merchandise- not the toy buying experience we were hoping for. I have been shopping at Riverside Mall god knows how long, and when i saw this shop i was super excited!!! I stepped in there today to buy a gift for a friends son, and let me tell you, they had , seems they had/have great toys not sure about prices as i was in a rush for 2 items. The reason why i am leaving a 1 star is because the associate lied to me from the minute i got to the store. I asked him for slime he told me they had plenty. I asked him specifically witch slime does NOT stick. Since he said they had plenty. She showed me some and the first he showed me single pack was the one in the picture attached to this review. I first asked him price he said $6 i was a bit surprised as I remember those kind of slime ive seen at Walmart for $3 . Luckily - i saw the same one that had a price ticket and siad $4.99 . I asked him so is it $6 or 4.99 he said "oh $4.99" then he said "well we cant compete with Walmart they sell merchandise left and right" (i agree with him however doesnt give u the right to lie to me like that. This is a mall not a boutique u get to name ur price) Then in my mind i said whatever, i came home and my daughter opened the slime and let me tell u , the second she opened it it took 30 min just to take it off everything it touched. Both slime i bought that he said are not sticky kind and both i threw away within an hour . Not only was he trying to over charge me , he trys to give me a reason for the overcharge and sells me a bullshit sticky nasty slime. With this kind of service u wont last at this mall. My family and i love this store, The staff are the real highlight of this store. They are so friendly and helpfull, Most of the time we walk in there for a gift for one of my kids friends but end up walking out with somthing for our family game nights! Purchased a POP from here with the intention of adding some inspiration on my desk at work. When I got home, my gf tossed the receipt, seeing as though all POPs are supposed to do is stand up. Well to my surprise it would NOT STAND UP! I looked on the bottom of the POP's shoes & there was a piece missing!! When I returned it to the store, the guy said "unfortunately there's nothing we can do because you don't have a receipt." Me: Exchange, him: "no we don't have that one in stock. The nearest one is 45 min away." Me: Ok, can I pick out another one? Him: "Unfortunately without the receipt, I can't damage this one out." *sigh* Will not be back. read more

As a company, their return policy is terrible, but the two men who work at the Sherman Oaks (Westfield Fashion Square Mall) went above and beyond to help me out. They were able to figure out the original transaction date to help me make the exchange without the original receipt. While I was there they recommended some excellent games that were appropriate and fun for my family. They listened to our preferences and made thoughtful suggestions. It was excellent customer service. The store is well stocked with a great variety. You won't find the bargain of the day, but you will leave happy. read more
