Massive selection of model cars. Many model cars I haven't seen on Amazon or hobby lobby. For example I saw many Tamiya sets and drag cars here. The pricing here however is usually 10 dollars more but it makes it worth it due to the huge selection of cars here and your supporting a local business . But sometimes they have sales on cars which are 10 dollars less then hobby lobby. i felt like a little kid at a candy store here. The paint selection is also great finding exactly what I needed. The service here is amazing since I didn't feel dumb or guilty about asking a question here compared to hobby lobby. read more

What an amazing hidden gem of a hobby shop. I spent two hours in there on my first visit. There's just so much to look at because of the numerous options and you must take your time. Definitely, gonna return to get that Fujimi Chevy Astro Van that was priced right. read more

I stumbled upon this place last year. A great little hobby shop! Lots of model kits and RC planes and rockets. They are knowledgeable about what they sell. Been there since 1986...(No Smith Brothers work there anymore) Prices are fair and reasonable and they have tons of accessories, paints and tools. Hundreds of car and truck model kits! Gundam, Star Wars, military and tons of aircraft models. I was just there and they had some NEW model kits. You HAVE to walk around and look at all the stuff ...a good place to spend a half hour. It's a small shop but they use every inch of it to load this place with the goods! read more

My daughter needed some supplies for a science project. You know I yelped for a hobby shop :) found this gem of a place. Reminds me of a radio shack meets craft store with model airplanes and cars. Definitely has a mom and pop 70's vibe. The guy who helped us said some other students came by and picked up some items for the same project. They happened to have a model built of the project as a guide which was super helpful. Street parking -- which can be worrisome and a big lot out back. Enter via the lot. Prices were low and service was friendly. Cool place, wish I needed to come by more often. Maybe I'll come again for Christmas and bday gifts read more

A shining classic hobby shop, kept neat and tidy! Planes, trains, cars, rockets, kites, big selection of plastic model kits, spruce and balsa materials, brass and plastic, silkspan, monokote, engine fuel, small tools, huge adhesive selection, much more. Even a small selection of U-control handles (though I didn't see any actual U-control airplanes). It takes an hour to really see everything. Bring yer wallet! read more

Had a great experience getting my RC car repaired. The customer service was outstanding. They fixed it in good time, and I was surprised and impressed when they took it apart on the spot to inspect the issue. What a sparkling treasure in the valley! Priceless unusual models, rare hobby findings and kits. It's not the largest store but it's packed in densely here. Very friendly staff... Greeted me on entry, politely checked on me... I just made a minor purchase. Recommendations parking in back is very safe compared with trying to park in front with speeding traffic. Plus they now redirect shoppers to go around and back. I bet they get less dust blown in from the street this way. So it's really not that often I will bestow five stars... However, treasure troves like what this shop has are so rare... It would be difficult to drop it down to four stars. So five it is! read more

I thoroughly enjoy going here and buying from these fine folks. The smith brothers are True OGs of the R/C world. A lot of places like this aren't around anymore because of online purchases and Amazon. I make it a point to go there and place my orders and purchase from them to ensure that this place is around for a long time. Thanks guys read more

One of the (if not THE) last true hobby shops left in the San Fernando Valley. With the demise of Kit Kraft no other shop that I'm aware of comes anywhere close to the level of excellent variety found at Smith Bros. Hobby Center. Do yourself and your community a favor and forgo Amazon for your hobby needs - shop here instead; you'll have what you need for that project you're working on immediately and you'll be supporting a locally owned shop that isn't part of some faceless national mega-corp. You'll be glad you did. read more

Me and my uncle come here and it's great dave is very knowledgeable of traxxas rc cars and rc planes. Will keep supporting!

I just dropped off my Tamiya rc, which I bought incomplete. I needed a receiver and a servo. Mike not only explained what I needed but is installing the needed parts. I really appreciate his knowledge and patience with me since I am relatively new to the hobby. He talked to me for a long time sharing a lot of his thirty years of experience and knowledge. I finally had to run out of the place before I spent all my money lol. I Highly recommend this business. Time for an update. My opinion is the same as before but I want to particularly commend both Dave and Tony for their friendly and helpful service.
