I needed a new iPad for my father, whose vision is failing, so that he could view text messages and images larger. I was even willing to replace his iPhone with the new device. When I made initial inquiry online, the agent told me I could not get a new cellular iPad without purchasing it outright (which is expensive, as you know) so when I went into the actual Verizon store I was feeling kind of down, but committed to the concept. To my delight, I was greeted by Janet, who wasted no time helping me figure the situation out. She was so cool and knowledgeable. I walked out with not one but TWO new iPads, and I did not have to trade in my father's to make the deal. Janet even worked her tech magic on the iPad for Dad, so it is all configured for his diminished sight. AND what really frosts the cake is my bill did not go up!! (All I paid was sales tax.) DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING. EVER. For starters, this is NOT a true Verizon store. For another, my electronic signature was put on a contract I did NOT sign. Fraudulent transaction on more than one level! Deal with these people at your OWN RISK. I bought a new phone for a friend. I was "gifted" with a tablet and told the only fees I would be charged was activation, tax and the monthly charge for that line. I was specifically told I would NOT be charged for the cost of the tablet. LIARS! TOTAL LIARS! Verizon bill comes and hey, wouldn't you know -- $200 for a tablet that barely functions, is a few years out of date, and my electronic signature was put on to a contract for sale that I did NOT SIGN. I read *everything* I sign; nothing escapes my scrutiny. I called Verizon and told them what happened. I have all the time in the world to take someone to court, and this will be no exception. There are also review sites online in which those of us who were bilked can easily warn *thousands* of people at a time. Yeah, you get the picture. I see they're responding to these reviews with, "it's very concerning." Right. If this company was genuinely concerned, they'd be firing their managers and making things right with the customers who were LIED TO. I put Verizon on notice that they can expect legal action because of this. Maybe in the future Verizon might be a little more "concerned" who THEY allow to use their name and logo. (Probably not, but they SHOULD.) To the rest of you who had the same thing happen -- and I see the reviews here that this is a common scam by this place -- you need to let Verizon know. I took my mother today to get a new phone and when we walked in they stated only one person at a time. I explained to them that she needs my help to get the phone. She stated again, only one at a time. If it was posted on the door that only one at a time, I would have taking my mother somewhere else. I get the covid crap is taking a tole, but i have driven past the store before and saw multiple people inside. That store could have handled things better, but like all shit now a days, customer service is dead to alot of stores. Ive gone to other business and see lots of people, as long as the distance and mask are worn. I feel it could have been treated differently at this store. I came into the store today, it was completely empty with just one employee, doing not much more than on a computer! I was greeted but when I told him I needed assistance setting up my new phone I received in the mail he quickly responded "oh we don't do that here, unless you bought the phone here I'd have to charge you to set up your phone, and I don't want to charge you!" Now I don't know how you'd call this customer service or how it makes sense that they would charge me for needing assistance setting up a phone that will surely give Verizon more than enough money! In a time where we have so many options, at that cheaper options, I really think Verizon should really survey who they allow to be "authorized" retailers and remind them what customer service is about! read more

I walked into Wireless Plus today on Magnolia in Burbank looking to pick up a phone charger. I walked out with the new iPhone 11. I am here to say the (plus) in Wireless Plus comes in the form of the best customer service I have ever had in a retail environment. Jason, along with Greg were able to simplify what i thought would be an overwhelming experience in all the specifics of upgrading, plans, etc. I fully recommend these guys. This store is fraudulent for sooo many reasons. Unfortunately, the words "Wireless Plus" are nowhere to be found when you visit this store, because they try to mask themselves as an actual Verizon store. They are not. This store is shady. My husband and I visited on 01/13/2022 to find out if we qualified for the free iPhone 13 promotion where we would each get an $800 trade-in credit for our previous iPhones. An employee named Brandon (who we were later told works for a different Verizon Plus store and was working at the Burbank location temporarily) helped us. He straight-up LIED to us and told us that 1) We qualified for that promotion when we actually did not and 2) In order to get that promotion we had to spend $100 to buy one of their cell phone cases and screen protectors. (Later the store manager told me that Brandon lied to us and those accessories were not a requirement in order to get the promotion, and that we never actually qualified for the promotion). In addition to those lies, my husband's trade-in, a red iPhone XR, was either stolen by Brandon or lost. Verizon never received it. Also lost was a grey iPhone 7 that my husband also traded-in. The store is telling me that they have no idea where our trade-ins ended up, and they say that they don't have any proof that we ever traded anything in. I cannot believe that this is how they run their business. So, we were verbally told by a WIRELESS PLUS EMPLOYEE (Brandon, who still works for the company, btw) that we would receive $1,600 in trade-in credit for our trade-in phones over our future monthly Verizon bills and in the end we are only receiving a total of $450 in trade-in credits (for my iPhone XS). Additionally, we had a red iPhone XR stolen from us, and spent $200 in accessories that we did not want. I've spoken to Oscar the store manager about this about 6 times now, and he is kind, but is basically telling me that he is being told by his supervisor that nothing can be done because we never actually qualified for the promotion, so we are just going to be out the remaining $1,150 that we were promised and are not getting back. Also, they just don't seem to care about the missing red iPhone XR trade-in. Or the fact that Brandon lied about accessories. I am beyond frustrated with his business. Don't go here. read more

WORST VERIZON STORE IVE EVER BEEN TO!!! I've had Verizon for 16? 17 years now and have never hated a Verizon store the way I hate this one. The customer service is TRASH. Went in to buy the new iPhone the day they came out and the guy working with us was jumped straight to saying No we don't have any ???? And another worker had to correct him and say they did. Then the idiot guy working with us claimed they had two blue phones ... and No they did not so one of us had to buy black. Even though we were clearly the first people to purchase the phone at that store since the worker was asking to look at our phones because "they had not seen them yet" .......... To top off my experience with the untrained guy, he did not explain anything we would be charged for, said all we had to pay was tax. Swiped our cards and when we looked at the receipt, we had been charged with like 80 dollars in additional fees that we were never told about. I mentioned it in the survey and someone called us and said it could have been a "set up fee" because they're supposed to wait and make sure everything transfers to new phone and I'm like ?? What did they set up? We went home and set up everything ourselves and paid the store 80 extra bucks to do our own work. They said they would call us back about it but never did. HORRIBLE SERVICE. They fixed someone else's mistake and I am EXTREMELY grateful for it. I was trying to port my number to Verizon through a phone call, but apparently the guy on the other line actually had no idea what he was doing. So to fix his mistake, I went to this Verizon branch. Both Jasson and Alex were extremely helpful in fixing the mistake that was made by the dude I was speaking to on the phone. My brother and I just had a terrible discriminatory experience at this store. While I understand we are in difficult times right now and safety measures have to be taken, Janet, the employee, besides having a terrible attitude, asked to have one of us stay outside while the other conducted business inside. Fair enough. I waited outside, no problem. Right then 3 white girls enter the store and Janet and the other employees had no problem letting all 3 stay inside at the same time while I still had to wait outside. Janet wouldn't even let me stand inside close to the exit door. She really wanted me to be outside. Now, it's not like this is a small 5 X 8 building where social distancing is impossible. It's a big location that can hold several people while maintaining safe social distance. Anyway, after my brother finalized his transaction (bought a new iPhone) and stepped out of the building, he tells me Janet had been all sorts of rude and unhelpful. Like she was doing him a favor. I wish he would've stopped the transaction and gone elsewhere but he needed a new phone since his old one broke so we had no choice. All that said, we're never going back to that store, I will post my experience in the City Of Burbank Facebook group so all my neighbors are aware of this and will write a letter to Verizon customer service. Avoid this place. Oh, by the way, my brother and I were both wearing masks and absolutely comply to all safety measures. But this wasn't about that. This was complete discrimination. read more

My husband and I have been Verizon customers for many years, and have been satisfied with their service and plans. We had been experiencing difficulties with both of our phones, purchased around 11/2012, very slow, unable to connect to the internet, etc. Since this outlet was closer to our house, we stopped in to ask them if they knew what the problem was. The only person working, I believe his name was Michael, was very nice, and told us that since Google had updated their operating system, our phones were sadly out of date and unable to handle the new upgrade. Solution: get new phones. We were told about a monthly plan, called Edge, where you pay for the phone by the month, instead of a discounted price with a 2-year sign-up. Once you pay off 60% of the phone, you may upgrade to another phone, if you wish. I guess it's nice for those who want the latest technology asap. We asked Mike SEVERAL times, as we were a bit confused, if we could do this plan for the next couple of months, and then switch back to our 2-year plan in November, when our old phones were due for the upgrade. SEVERAL times we were told yes, no problem. This sounded like a nice stop-gap until we could upgrade, so we both opted for new phones. I took a newer version of the one I had, because the monthly rate was really cheap, where my husband went ahead and got the phone he wanted. We also had to mail back our old phones, odd, as we've always been able to keep them. About 4 weeks later, my husband called Verizon customer service, and double-checked on our upgrade date. He was told not until April of 2016. What? I told him to get a supervisor on the line, which he did, and we spent the next frustrating hour trying to figure out how to get out of this ridiculous plan and back on track. The supervisor was very nice, and apologetic, but told us that since we had signed the contract, and more than 14 days had gone by, he couldn't do anything for us. He told us the only way was to go back to the store, and see if they would reverse the contract. He said that they had the power to do so,...if they chose. Well, you guessed it, Mike at the store refused to do anything, saying that the 6-year veteran supervisor at Verizon Customer Service didn't know what he was talking about, and basically laughed at our suggestion. I will have to pay off my phone (about $150) before I can sign up for another 2-year contract, and get the phone I want (for another $100 or so). In the meantime, my husband is paying about $25 per month for his phone PLUS the service plan, costing so much more money than the other way. Pissed at this place (not an official Verizon service center, just a retail outlet) for not even entertaining our request. Yes, of course we feel like idiots for not fully understanding the brand new goofy Edge plan, but we also feel like we were taken advantage of. We asked several times about being able to switch back in November, and were assured that it was no problem. read more

Edited review because of further information: I was dragging my feet on upgrading my phone because I thought it would be a big hassle, take a long time and they'd try to sell me all sorts of stuff I didn't want or need. My experience with Mike at this Verizon was the opposite. It was easy, pleasant and he actually found me ways to save money... or so I thought until I got the first bill. Turns out the communication was very poor. There was a monthly fee for the supposedly free tablet he sold me. Luckily I never activated it and was able to return it and get the fee off my bill. And now, months later I realize that this isn't the phone I wanted. I didn't realize there were more than one model of iPhone 7. I'd said I wanted the one with the really good camera and having just seen a friend's phone discovered the reason why my pics have been so disappointing - it's not the right model. I take some responsibility for not doing my research but now I think the reason I thought it seemed so easy was that the clerk wasn't putting forth enough effort to really listen and explain things.
