You can find the Comic Celler located on Main Street in Alhambra. We were walking around and stumbled in here. They have a large selection of new and old comics. You can find the more expensive and valuable comics in the case near the register. They have the comics organized my different characters if you are looking for a specific character like Spider-man. If you have time to kill, you can peruse the $1 comic section which has many different comic books of different subject matter. We came in with our young son who is obsessed with Spider-man. We ended buying several Spider-man comics that were in a section that had 50% off comics. I grabbed some $1 comics that I thought were cool and interesting. Wish I had more time to check all the $1 comics, but our toddler son was running around. They had a funny sense of humor with their $1 Comics. See below

Huge selection of comics and Funko Pop! figurines. Everything is reasonably priced according to market value. They seem to have all the latest comic releases. There's also a section for $1.00 comics. Parking can be a pain in this area, but you can try for street parking by the church nearby.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but once you go inside it's a treasure trove of comics and nostalgia. I was just browsing and I was tempted to buy some stuff just because of the cool factor of the items.

They've got all the new goodies I'm looking for

Alex, this post is for you. I came in today hoping the new guy at the counter from last Tuesday was there... and he was. Completely different vibe. Alex talks to people about the books they're buying, he offered some tips about setting up a small box kit he was buying. It's just refreshing for this place to have someone behind the register who acts like he cares about the people coming in. I didn't even really see anything I liked today, but I ended up picking up two of the higher priced books behind the register just to show some appreciation. You guys made a $100 sale today just from having great customer service.

When wandering around Main Street in Alhambra, perhaps walking off dimsum from down the way, be sure to pop into this fun comic book shop! Han Solo fills the vanishing point upon entering, which lends a nice touch to the usual decor or collectible comics on the walls and towering columns of Funko Pop toys, although they have ample amounts of both. I browsed a while, sometimes usual shop under orders certain issues and rather than wait two weeks i prefer to support other shops if they have the missing issue(s). Shop owners are also great sources of industry trends, rumors, and upcoming releases, so be sure to say hey. Overall, this is a very good shop, more and more often smaller shops primarily carry contemporary comics, toys, collectibles but have less space or access for older comics in boxes. That's not the case here, however, so bring the hand wipes and browse the organized back issues, and randomly packed dollar comic boxes. Like most shops these days, if you're a regular consider setting up an account to have them pull your favorite titles each week, there's usually tiered discounts involved, and it's a wonderful way to support true small businesses, especially in these trying times.

I really like this store! The person who works here is friendly and really helpful. I called before visiting the store and they picked up right away and were helpful. The store is full of great things for all ages ( little ones too) and the prices are great! I will definitely be returning.

The emphasis, though, is primarily new and recent comics. Passing through on a rainy afternoon I was pleased to find its location is near a few important stops in Pasadena, and there's some parking available in the private lot. I was mostly there to check out the selection and see if they specialized in anything unique. Not to say they don't, but it's still a well-stocked store. I was the only customer and enjoyed the classic jazz playing in the background. Pro Tip: Most established comic shops have subscription plans paid annually, or one-time up front. A customer goes through Comic Book Geek to pick their titles and sometimes preferred cover art, and the shop pulls their requests and holds them until the customer picks up the stash.

Now, they were all no Stewart comic book store but out of all of the ones in the area, this was the best by far. Chill vibes, plenty of comics, easy access, and easy to purchase at the end. Only critiques I would give it would be to have a little more for the other collectors. And what I mean by that, have a couple more action figures, Funko, pops, etc. that will probably bring in some more people for sure. The other thing would bethe music playing in the speakers. Didn't care too much for the rock, but still all in all, nice place to go. There's plenty of parking and easy to find.

When looking at the gallery, there are several microscopes available to look at the art pieces in detail. The gallery maximizes its art space by displaying artwork on both sides of the stairway and features artwork on the second floor as well. Nucleus is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy art or love unique reads.

Apparently Nucleus expanded and opened a second location in Portland in 2016. [Parking]: Easy and free street parking. If parking is not available on Main St, then there are plenty of public parking spots and parking plazas in downtown Alhambra. [Space]: The space is separated into a bookstore at the front with various art books and a rotating art exhibit (Wicked in March 2026) at the back. All art on display is for sale. The bookstore sells mostly art books (both original works and artwork from specific anime, games, or pop culture) as well as various original greeting cards. Tickets are not required to see the exhibit and admission is free. [Conclusion]: A neat spot to see various unique art prints and a free exhibit. I was disappointed to see record stores have dried up, but when I looked up comic book stores, this was near the top, and close to where I had lunch. Street parking is fairly easy, and I didn't realize that the first door I passed was another entrance to a café looking area. However, the main entrance was a visually impressive experience in its own right. Full of stimuli basically, that's assured at Revenge of... (the Nerds? Supes?). Love the name! In addition to comics and usual toys and nicknacks, I was delighted to find not one, but two areas devoted to pinball machines! Additionally, the interior design evokes lots of classic (e.g. Silver and Bronze Age) artwork. X-Men and Spider-Man definitely influenced the architectural approach. It's impressive and lends a fun vibe, as well as atmospheric lighting. Two café counters in different areas allow for drinks to be purchased, and lots of nooks and crannies have things ranging from vinyl records, board games, a discounted graphic novels area, as well as recent comic titles and weekly releases (typically on Wednesdays). The back issues are found in X shaped fixtures and spaced in a clever arrangement that simultaneously encourages and enhances browsing, and yet doesn't clutter the walking areas. I found several missing issues for my Conan the Barbarian run, and everything is bagged and boarded (archival terms), so that's good. I didn't explore the pinball machines as I was pressed for time, but I definitely see myself visiting when I'm nearby in the future.

When the urge to buy comics struck, I would default to the Pasadena stores - you know the ones - and man was that a mistake. I used to be an avid collector in the 90s, and Bali Books in Alhambra was my sanctuary. Every other store, no matter how good the selection, just felt impersonal. I recently decided to start reading issues in real time instead of waiting for TPBs, and of course that meant I needed a pull list. One stop at Comics VS Toys and dammit I feel like a 12 year old all over again. The owner, Ace, immediately took my requests and helped fill in some recent back issues I missed out on. Luckily my current list is staggered and I have a legitimate excuse to pick up my stack every week. And the staff is awesome, like your favorite neighborhood bar tenders. See ya next week! Though I did enjoy the t-shirts that they had on display. I am a comics fan and, if I had all day, I would be able to go through this entire place's inventory. But I found it wasn't organized in a way that I found easy to navigate. There were definitely some comic favorites of mine, or titles that I was interested in, but I came upon them randomly. And most weren't where I was expecting them. Interestingly enough, the comics were exclusively (or almost exclusively) Western comics. I didn't see any manga. There are, of course, shops entirely devoted to manga, but I've seen few comics shops that didn't have a few titles, given their popularity. The clerk on duty was neither outgoing nor unfriendly. Which, honestly, I'm fine with. When it comes to stores with lots of merchandise, as long as I can find someone to ask a question, I'm happy. I don't need someone breathing down my neck. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, I might browse if I was in the area.
