    Well organized bookstore.

This is my kind of bookstore. There is plenty of free street parking so you have no excuses. They have mostly used books but I found a couple of long sought after new ones, too. The used books are generally in very good condition. They also buy books so bring in your old stuff and you might get lucky (we scored $15 which, of course, went right back to the store after we selected a bunch of stuff to buy). They have LPs and some CDs near the front. The CDs weren't great but the LPs are worth browsing. If you are looking for vintage pulp fiction or sci-fi, they have you covered. The prices are not cheap, nor should they be. I did find the prices of the new and used books to be very reasonable. For booklovers, put this one high on your list if you are in or near Pasadena. You could easily and happily spend a couple hours (and a couple hundred bucks) here.

A gem! So happy we stumbled upon Book Alley after brunch. It looks small from the street view, but it's a whole treat as soon as you step in. Upon entering you see a cool collection of records and CDs. They also have a wonderful selection of books and friendly staff. I could spend forever getting lost in this place.

So many books! And very organized. They also have used records for great prices. Very friendly staff who was very helpful. Support small businesses!

Large selection of used books, some newer titles, vintage LPs and collectible books. Staff is very friendly and attentive, used & collectible prices tend to be toward the higher end.

Such a great bookstore. Staff = friendly af. 10/10. Other customers = just as friendly. :) Bonus, pet friendly! My doggo and I browsed for a while and found some great gems!

Stopped by Book Alley on a Saturday morning and the place was busy with book lovers! There is a wide selection of books. The walkways are a bit narrow and the books on the floor don't help but you can still get by. Books inside the store were in good condition and some books are signed copied.

This is not a destination for someone with a mobility impairment that makes walking through very narrow aisles or stepping over/around boxes a difficult task. My dad uses a walker and he wouldn't be able to navigate this space. I enjoyed it though. I was able to pop in on my lunch hour and pick up a nice selection of postcards ($1 small, $1.50 large) and a book that was recommended by a staffer. So many interesting titles, all genres! I saw a few really fascinating one-of-a-kind used books that I would have probably picked up, too, but they were out of my budget at $50-$60 each. Cool vibe. Would make a fun date-night destination- especially with the awesome Blue Rooster art shop next door- and, if there is a coffee shop nearby that would be a really fun outing.

Cute place! Lots of books and they accept donations of books as well. Plenty of street parking.

I was also pleased to find the book, exactly as described and in better condition than I would have expected a used paper back book to be, published in 1977 some 41 years ago.

It almost feels like you have to be there half a day and just sit down and enjoy everything they have to offer to read. I went to the poetry section right away, and I thought ' aw man there isn't much,' but I still got to find a book to purchase. I then had to use the bathroom, which didn't have any toilet paper in any stalls. But managed to use the seater paper. Hey whatever works. I was surprised to see that they have merchandise for sale of all kinds of T-shirts and blouses and sweaters. The value for these books are not too expensive, but there is so much to see and if you find the right thing, that's what paying for them buy it. I was also very happy to listen to music of my favorite artist being played. They had several music from Natalia Laforga to Chicano Batman many Spanish songs playing.. The universe truly brought me to this place because I've been wanting a T-shirt for a very long time, and I stumbled upon it without even looking for it.

There was a comically circuitous line around half the ground floor to get in. Line moved reasonably quickly though, much faster than the elevators. The Event itself is 12-floors of vendors, crafts, and food which sounds great, but... each floor has around 20-25 offices. On average, about 2-3 offices per floor were open and sparsely filled by vendors. When I say sparsely, I mean that with the exception of some jewelry installments, most of the vendors were setup in rooms that made it seem as though the space had been rented out to five different vendors who each got 1/5th of the room to setup their station. Problem was, floor after floor after floor, the other four didn't show up. Overall, it felt completely empty, random and disorganized. Nice building, but definitely not meant for that many people. It'd be a perfectly lackluster way to waste an hour or so if there wasn't a fee for admission. But, since there is, regardless of how cheap, they're still charging people for something that could not have been more overwhelmingly underwhelming. Check out the great bookstore, but if you've ever been to some low-rent flea market in some second-rate city, you've already experienced their Tower Takeover.

Unfortunately, my experience this past December left me with a bad impression. I stopped in to buy Christmas gifts and while I was being helped by the employee at the register, I asked if they happened to have small handouts explaining the properties of a few crystals that came from the glass shelves. They weren't sure, so they asked the older employee/manager standing nearby. His response was rude. He came over and said they would have to print one out and didn't have time to do that. I wasn't expecting anyone to go out of their way to print something--I was just asking in case they had copies available at the front. A polite "no, we don't" would have been fine. Instead, the sharp tone was embarrassing, especially since it happened in front of other customers, the employee helping me, and my partner. I still purchased my items, but the interaction left me hesitant to return. This is a shop that should feel warm, welcoming, and relaxing considering what it offers. Nobody should leave feeling uncomfortable after a simple question.
