Gem of a shop! Friendly staff, an eclectic collection of CDs and vinyl, and ample room to peruse the wares. Do NOT ignore the discount section. Found a 2003 release from the legendary PCC Jazz Ensemble!! Where else are you gonna find something like that. They also have thousands of listings up on Discogs you can pick up here (call ahead of course)! I took a gander when I got back into my car and saw this Nara Leao compilation CDs, which of course I had to call about and run back in for. Worth it.

1st US Nirvana Bleach purchased from Sibylline Records. Beautiful playing copy .

Sibylline Records is an amazing shop. In this day and age, it's getting harder and harder to find a store that (1) grades records accurately, (2) offers great prices, and (3) has truly killer stock--and Sibylline checks all three boxes. The team is fantastic, and the shop itself feels incredibly curated, with some of the best titles I've seen anywhere. I've worked with the team on purchasing via their social media channels and have picked up some really great records. They're always super responsive, and shipping is both reasonable and secure. You can tell a lot of love and heart goes into everything this shop does. My only regret is that I don't live closer.

Nice little spot for vinyl record hunting with a great selection. Got to meet Bodie, the sweetest dog. He will come down and greet you. The owner was quite pleasant and inviting. Highly recommend this place.

It's the neighborhood record shop! Sibylline is continently located in the historic playhouse district of Pasadena, CA. It's a bright, cozy, and inviting place to browse, perhaps pet a sweet pup, and sometimes even catch an acoustic show! Expect a highly curated selection of used records, tapes, and CDs from this artist owned shop. This is one of those record stores where if you frequent enough you'll start to get recommendations from the folks who work there as they get to know you. It harkens back to the days of record shop past. There's a big focus on classic rock albums for those looking to finish their collections. There's a great handpicked international and indie psych section too. I always try to stop in for a dig in the new release bins which are updated throughout the day. You'll find things here you won't see in other shops, especially some of those exquisite rare pressings that will make those collectors salivate.

Being able to see condition of the records before buying is appreciated

Their videos are organized by how a cinema fan's mind works. By category, by country, by director. John Woo movies in the Hong Kong director's section. Hou Hsiao-Hsien in Taiwan. There's classic porn from the 70s, 80s and 90s. There are Criterion discs. There are John Huston movies, Godard movies, Wim Wenders and David Lynch. Dario Argento horror movies. Sci-fi. Pre Sci-fi. Unfortunately, my experience this past December left me with a bad impression. I stopped in to buy Christmas gifts and while I was being helped by the employee at the register, I asked if they happened to have small handouts explaining the properties of a few crystals that came from the glass shelves. They weren't sure, so they asked the older employee/manager standing nearby. His response was rude. He came over and said they would have to print one out and didn't have time to do that. I wasn't expecting anyone to go out of their way to print something--I was just asking in case they had copies available at the front. A polite "no, we don't" would have been fine. Instead, the sharp tone was embarrassing, especially since it happened in front of other customers, the employee helping me, and my partner. I still purchased my items, but the interaction left me hesitant to return. This is a shop that should feel warm, welcoming, and relaxing considering what it offers. Nobody should leave feeling uncomfortable after a simple question.

The staff on the floor are engaging and genuinely helpful when you're searching for a particular find. That said, my experience selling books was disappointing. The process felt impersonal, and the seller/owner was not particularly engaging. One example: I brought in a brand-new book that originally cost $40 and was offered only a $1 store credit. I understand used bookstores have to make a profit, but the experience left me feeling like my books would have been better off in a friend's library. Great place to browse and buy, but I would lower expectations if you're planning to sell.
