For those looking for classic vinyls from the 80s and 90s, this store is the one. Offering a fun curation of both modern and nostalgic records, CDs, and cassette tapes, there's so much to explore and browse. I love how they allow customers to listen to the records before purchasing, such a key factor in this shopping experience.

Sibylline is a gem of a record shop in the Pasadena area filled with lots of treasures and great finds. There is no parking lot here, but a good amount of street parking all around the area. Inside, they are a smaller shop but have a good amount of records to sort through. Their selection ranges from different genres and are usually more old school. Everything is priced fairly and the staff here are welcoming. I definitely spotted some cool finds that I do not typically see at other record shops.

Gem of a shop! Friendly staff, an eclectic collection of CDs and vinyl, and ample room to peruse the wares. Do NOT ignore the discount section. Found a 2003 release from the legendary PCC Jazz Ensemble!! Where else are you gonna find something like that. They also have thousands of listings up on Discogs you can pick up here (call ahead of course)! I took a gander when I got back into my car and saw this Nara Leao compilation CDs, which of course I had to call about and run back in for. Worth it.

Nice little spot for vinyl record hunting with a great selection. Got to meet Bodie, the sweetest dog. He will come down and greet you. The owner was quite pleasant and inviting. Highly recommend this place.

It's the neighborhood record shop! Sibylline is continently located in the historic playhouse district of Pasadena, CA. It's a bright, cozy, and inviting place to browse, perhaps pet a sweet pup, and sometimes even catch an acoustic show! Expect a highly curated selection of used records, tapes, and CDs from this artist owned shop. This is one of those record stores where if you frequent enough you'll start to get recommendations from the folks who work there as they get to know you. It harkens back to the days of record shop past. There's a big focus on classic rock albums for those looking to finish their collections. There's a great handpicked international and indie psych section too. I always try to stop in for a dig in the new release bins which are updated throughout the day. You'll find things here you won't see in other shops, especially some of those exquisite rare pressings that will make those collectors salivate.

Being able to see condition of the records before buying is appreciated

CAAAAN YOOOOU DIIIIIIG IT? Poo-Bah can!…read more Poo-Bah Record Shop is a time machine disguised as a music store, and let me tell you--it's the place for anyone who appreciates good tunes and even better customer service. My recent visit felt like stepping into a live Spotify mixtape, and here's why. I went in on a mission: find some records as a Christmas gift for a high schooler who's super smart, learning to play piano by ear, and whose taste in music is a mystery to me. No pressure, right? I grabbed a couple of records with piano-heavy tracks and headed home. But something told me, "Maybe give these a spin before handing them off." Glad I did--one of the albums had lyrics I wasn't exactly keen on giving to a kid. Determined to support a small business (because, let's face it, every dollar counts more there), I went back to see about an exchange. Walking in, I braced myself for an awkward return situation. I explained my dilemma at the counter, saying I didn't want a refund but was open to suggestions. And that's when the magic happened. The guy at the register immediately hopped off and started digging through records to find something more suitable. Then, the owner joined in--tag-teaming the search like Billy Taylor and Quincy Jones putting together a jazz masterpiece. They didn't just recommend records; they curated options with the care of someone arranging the perfect piano solo. At one point, I half-expected Ray Charles to pop out from behind the counter, saying, "Now this is how you dig Baby!" They found me some Count Basie to keep things swinging, threw in some Modern Jazz Quartet for that cool, intellectual vibe, and made me rethink my entire approach to gift-giving. I walked out with four records instead of two, grinning like a kid at their first jam session. These folks didn't just help me solve a gifting problem; they brought me back to a time when crate-digging was an art form and music was the language of discovery. As a former DJ, I know the joy of unearthing hidden gems, and Poo-Bah's team shares that same passion and knowledge. If you're into music and crave a place where the love for it runs deep, Poo-Bah Record Shop is it. This place isn't just a record store; it's a soundtrack to the golden era of music and a reminder of why we love vinyl in the first place.

I've barely begun to dip my toe into deep appreciation of physical music mediums, and accompanied my wife here on her birthday search for a few specific vinyls and CDs. My search was narrow, hoping for a Odesza vinyl. I found two vinyls from the A Moment Apart album I was in search for with one being a used copy in a deep sea foam color while the other was a clear vinyl. Because I knew nothing about vinyls, I went to the front desk where Kelly took the time to show me how; 1) properly remove vinyls from their sleeve, 2) the direction to clean vinyls using a microfiber cloth, 3) check downs to go through when inspecting a used vinyl, and 4) in why's behind inspecting vinyls the way she recommended. In taking the time to show me how to check 3 separate clearance vinyls, I felt even more stoked about my Odesza used vinyl find as it was fun colored vinyl not yet in our collection and in beautiful condition. Kelly - thank you for not being a gatekeeper. You rock!
