The first interaction with this card shops was calling them to ask to entertain my son by buying some cards from my 4 year old son. He had just some really cheap bulk he wanted to sell and I was hoping the shop would just buy them from him to show him the value of getting rid of extra stuff for money that he can save. Jonathan did just that, took in all his card and gave him his first 3 dollars for the cards. This really impacted my son's view on other adults and kindness that can come from small interaction with other adults outside of family. From that point on he loves going to this shop and developed a friendship with Justin and Jonathan. They are open pretty often, and the only card shop near me that has a community like atmosphere. The people who work there seem to know customers on a first name basis. The pricing can be expensive since its based off the current market, however if you go to release days for a set then they'll have them close to or if not retail price. I've never had a bad experience with the store, and I've even sold some of my cards here for a really good price. I can't say for certain how much they offer, but expect close to market with a little off the top for them to sell when it comes to trade value. If you're looking for Yu-Gi-Oh cards specifically this is a good place since they're willing to check market prices and give you a deal compared to retail. This might a small thing too, but taxes are included and they always charge round numbers. Also they have a ton of bulk cards if you want to fill your binder up for specific Pokemon illustrators or Yu-Gi-Oh archetypes. Its fairly cheap only $1 for 10. The staff act like frat house brothers with rap music blasting in the background which isn't a bad thing. They're like the friendly and chill frat house brothers with a chin flick that go "whats up bro did you need any help?" and fist bump you. They originally had a couch in there, but I'm not sure where that went. It really gave it that lived in look. Overall its pretty clean, they keep a trashcan in front of the register for people to empty out their bad pulls, although I've never seen much trash there besides food so it might be a skill issue for some. read more

I often sell my cards here with cash/store credit offered at a reasonable amount. Jonathan was extremely helpful during my last visit here. Finally decided to check this place out as we always pass by it. Came here Saturday afternoon. Looked like there was a tournament happening. It was busy when we came but wasn't too bad. Several tables set up for people to play and hang out. There was also another section for common Pokemon and other cards that were available at 10 for $1 which was pretty good especially since my son wanted some. They also some individual cards for sale in their glass case as well as packs and boxes behind the counter. Staff was nice and helped quote us a few individual cards. They sell at market despite getting pre orders for being a play store so they get their product for cheap and resell for super inflated prices this is wrong. What a wonderful store. My boys are just getting into Pokemon cards and this store is perfect. They have these giant boxes of single pokemon cards where you can just get 10 cards for a dollar. Honestly poor service from the employees. Came to sell some cards, got help, then tried buying cards, but the employee said I need to order from the website or wait until thursday for the employee that is in charge of the specific card game to come in to help. The whole shop feels sleazy and disorganized; it's impossible to get decent service from any of the employees. Also noticed that the employees are extremely weird towards girls, both a friend of mine and myself have noticed this. DO NOT BUY MAGIC BOOSTER AT THIS STORE! I picked up a couple packs of bloomburrow yesterday that had clearly been pre opened and sorted. The pulls made no sense and the packs were obviously resealed. I came here for the first time for the Riftbound release on Friday, 10/31. The night before, ProjectCCG posted on Instagram that this is a first-come, first-served sale, and the story included "starter decks, Display boxes, and the Proving Grounds box.. I arrived at 9:15 am and was 3rd in line. The store's scheduled open hour is 11 am at 11:05, a team member comes out and lets everyone know they'll need another 15 mins. (Not the end of the world, but it's Halloween and you have a line of 80 people outside) We continue to wait until 11:30 before the store opens its doors (finding out that the team held us up so they could take Halloween pictures and post on Instagram! This is unprofessional). I finally get into the store, excited to get a Proving Grounds box, a Display box, and a Starter deck. When I ask to buy the proving grounds box, I'm told that they've sold out... mind you, I'm 3rd in line and the 2 people in front of me didn't buy one. When I asked how you can be sold out when the store just opened, I was met with a "It was a pre-order". I was upset as I've called the store 3 times within the last two weeks, asking about Riftbound, and was given very little info each time, and not once did I hear about a pre-order. I even took notes from each store I had called. I had called this place in particular twice in the same week, with the last call being Thursday, 10/30, to make sure Riftbound was for sale. So the pre-order answer didn't suffice for me, as I should've been made aware via the phone calls. Then another team member followed that up with We gave one out last night at our event. (Okay, but why wasn't that posted, and if there wasn't any for sale, why was it included in the IG story?) Needless to say, I stopped pushing at that point because I didn't want to make a scene and still wanted to buy the booster and Starter deck. Clean and friendly hobby shop. Prices are higher than online but you get access to in person assistance and a fun and welcoming place to enjoy the hobby of choice. Although they are usually very busy, the staff their take their time explaining the price they buy at and give out reasonable offers. place is kind of a hit or miss in regards to quality of service, I think this is solely because they place is relatively small for its cashier area and it gets packed very fast, not to mention some of the employees have a bit of an attitude problem which isn't so nice. Paying customers shouldn't feel as if they're a nuisance for asking for assistance. Other than that, the place is nice however the men's restroom is pretty gross, and the place has an issue with temperature a lot of the time, place gets absolutely humid for some reason. Another issue, train your staff to buy cards. This constant "the buyers aren't in" or "I'm not allowed to buy" is really annoying. Staff should be fully trained and ready to accept buyers/trade in offers, very odd that a store declines business. read more

As a Pokémon collector, I've been dying for a good storefront to come to Alhambra, just cause I usually have to travel about 15-20 minutes to the closest other ones. PROJECTCCG is a great addition to the town, and has a solid selection of product, both sealed and singles. read more

To add, the owners are not really there as their staff is rude and will talk bad about you as well. I would heavily avoid this store if you want to avoid rude staff. Ran by this place during a jog around the neighborhood. Decided to check it out with my kids and ProjectCCG has now been our go to local card shop. The prices here have been pretty reasonable and the selection of both sealed products and singles is quite good. They do buy cards and if you opt for store credit I think the prices are fair keeping in mind they are a store needing to maintain their revenue and profit margins. I also like their pre-order system which can either be done on-line or in-store based on your personal preference. Definitely check this store out for all your card collecting needs. read more

Neat card shop to get all things related to Pokemon and Yugioh. They did have some Dragonball cards and other products, but it's mostly dominated by Pokemon and Yugioh. Everything is essentially fairly priced, both the product and singles. Staff is helpful and chill and they monitor prices based on what the market dictates so do expect to pay a pretty penny depending on what you're looking for. Pretty sure I won't need to tell you that as you're likely a collector and know how the trading card market works. read more
