Staff here is great. They're friendly and very informative which is always a nice sight to see for newcomers. In the back, you'll find many tables where people visit to play all types of games. Ranging from board games, cards, DnD, and list goes on. Best part is that you can try all types of games for free. My wife and I visited with some friends and we had such a wonderful time playing board games. Time flew by so fast as we were all having fun. I'd say the tables could use some cleaning but very spacious overall. Parking is out in the back but it's pretty limited. Street parking is also available but watch out for time slots. Overall, very happy about Odyssey Games, very much a must visit spot if you love board games. Place can get packed as you'll often find plenty of people here. Love to visit again soon to try new board games.

There's a weird odor in the store even when it's on a less crowded day. The furniture is also super worn down and makes playing games uncomfortable. When I walked into Darkside Games, I wasn't greeted. One employee was helping a customer with a trade of multiple Pokémon cards, which is understandable, but I stood by the display case looking at Magic cards for quite a while without any acknowledgment or indication I'd be helped. During that time, another customer who seemed like a regular came in and was immediately helped, while I continued waiting. A second employee later came out from the back, walked past me without saying anything, and started working without checking if I needed help. After about 15-16 minutes, I finally asked about a single card I was looking for and got a dismissive response. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and not very inviting compared to other TCG shops I've visited.

They have two separate areas with gaming tables - a smaller section in the front near the entrance and a larger section in the back with a bit more decor and ambiance. They hold weekly structured MTG meetups and for other games as well (for a small fee) and their event schedule is easily accessed on their website. We came in with my son in search of MTG cards and had fun browsing their selection. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were on par with other gaming stores in the area. Store and play areas were clean with some interesting custom decor items. They're located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Would be a great place to host your own card gaming sessions or join an established local specialty card gaming community!

Now, they were all no Stewart comic book store but out of all of the ones in the area, this was the best by far. Chill vibes, plenty of comics, easy access, and easy to purchase at the end. Only critiques I would give it would be to have a little more for the other collectors. And what I mean by that, have a couple more action figures, Funko, pops, etc. that will probably bring in some more people for sure. The other thing would bethe music playing in the speakers. Didn't care too much for the rock, but still all in all, nice place to go. There's plenty of parking and easy to find.

The emphasis, though, is primarily new and recent comics. Passing through on a rainy afternoon I was pleased to find its location is near a few important stops in Pasadena, and there's some parking available in the private lot. I was mostly there to check out the selection and see if they specialized in anything unique. Not to say they don't, but it's still a well-stocked store. I was the only customer and enjoyed the classic jazz playing in the background. Pro Tip: Most established comic shops have subscription plans paid annually, or one-time up front. A customer goes through Comic Book Geek to pick their titles and sometimes preferred cover art, and the shop pulls their requests and holds them until the customer picks up the stash.
