It's kind of hit or miss and depends what they have in inventory as this is a niche product and a lot of it is secondhand. The last time we can here they didn't have the Ultraman Zero and one of the employees who works here was very friendly and helpful. He helped us look for it. I was appreciative that they have employees that are not only friendly, but knowledgeable about variety of different niche products. The hours here are not very good as they open from 12 PM which is not very conveient for customers. The prices here can bit steep for some products, but like I mentioned most of their products are niche and you can't find it anywhere else. As you can see, the boy liked poking around and looking at the different toys and figurines. One moment he wanted Ultraman then Spider-Man then Transformers! He wants it all! LOL!

They've done some high-end, prize-figure, and kawaii collectible pop up shops with some nice collectible bags and other goods, as well as always having cute displays and photo opportunities. They've hosted pop-up maid cafe's with real food being served such as the Oinky Doink Maid cafe themed and collaborated with the Akiba Maid War anime, as well as with local maid cafes, such as Dreamland Maid cafe. The venue is also used for live events, giving a fun and underground feel if you're into indie idols and the such (or if you've seen it in anime or manga). They've hosted live events for local idols/groups and even V-tubers, along with meet and greets or buppan (when you can purchase merchandise and cheki) afterwards! During these events sometimes there's a costume/cosplay contest and open karaoke too. Great small event to have fun at. The workers here are always super friendly too. Misty and Brock, represent. I was in the market for a Totoro desk fan, and of course they had one at a lower price than I could find on line. Tons of plush so I had to pick up a Gudetama backpack hanger. So happy to learn that the Kimono Ya family owners also operate Burbank's go-to candy store, Sweety's. Cheers!

They had one door open, other door was shut which had a sign that said "no food or drink" and didn't even notice it till we walked out. We had our open boba drink when we walked in but they didn't enforce it or anything. We browsed around a bit and ended up only getting a few blind boxes. They had a handful of really nice ones! Some Pokémon and SpyxFamily ones which we went for. Suuuuper cute and glad we got them since we didn't get any duplicates! The prices here are very good too. But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Prices there are very reasonable too, honestly, I prefer going to this store compared to places like Jungle or Robot4Less due to price reasons. I would absolutely recommend this store for those who are in the hobby or starting to get into a hobby.

Hidden Gem Alert!…read more Attention hobbyists and gift givers: Neo Happyland might just be your new happy place. Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.
