    Street metered parking off 5th.
    Michelle R.

Aisles of Pop! Aisles of Pop! Located a block from LA's Skid Row literally on the corner of 5th and Crocker is this amazing Funko Pop! store. Streets are lined with homeless tents, and you really feel that you made a mistake. Don't let that deter you!! There's metered parking off 5th Street, and the meter takes credit card. An hour cost $1.00 I think. Also street parking off 4th, that are non metered and if you are lucky there's some spaces in the store's private lot located behind the building off 5th. When you walk to the store front, you'll be greeted by a gate. It's unlocked so pull it open. You may have to avoid a homeless person parked on the sidewalk. Once inside you'll gasp at the amount of Funko Pop. Did I mention aisles of Pop!? They're separated by types: Disney, Movie, TV, pop culture and in the middle are aisles of discount Pop, about $5.99. Common ones run $10.95 and the chase or grails can be higher than the Pop pricing guide. If you can offset your shopping with the bargain ones, splurge and get the grail. Tom also has his exclusive Mulan and Cricket Funko Pop for $15. Give them a stop, if you need Funko Pop! They have online store, but Tom said prices are cheaper in house.

    Thanks, Tommy!

Tommy is a great guy with a great personality and great business skills! Came in looking for Gundam kits, which he has a decent amount of. Came on 12/30/15 and saw a lot of high grades and real grades, but no master grades unfortunately (he says they'll have them at the end of 1/16). Of the kits he did have, there was a large variety of older and newer kits. Some old Wing models mixed with some newer Build Fighters kits, etc. I honestly liked the kits he carried more than the ones Anime Jungle had, but that's all subjective. I walked out with a Gundam G Self Perfect Pack at an AMAZING price. Besides Gundams, the walls were filled to the brim with Pop figures. If you collect Pop, Tom's is the place to go. He also carries a few Warhammer things and some other generic toys. The area around the shop is a bit run down. A lot of homeless people. If you are walking there from the center of Little Tokyo it might really throw you off guard your first time. They keep their gate closed but unlocked while they're open (maybe for security reasons) so just slide it open when you come through. Overall, what really makes this place special is the customer service. Being treated so well really makes you want to support this guy; I probably wouldn't have bought anything if I wasn't so delighted with the service. Gundam collection isn't the large (yet), but Pop is abundant. Neighbourhood is a bit less clean, but the trip is definitely worth it. I'm definitely coming back at the end of January because I know he's gonna have a lot more great stuff that is worth buying.

Found out about this place through facebook after searching for the exclusive Mushu Pop! Upon visiting the store, its located on the corner of 4th, the front entrance is gated and closed, but remains unlock during store hours. The environment is very welcoming, someone was in the front to greeting all the customers, then asks what me looking for. I was looking for that exclusive pop to add to my collection. He had it displayed by the front counter, and while he went to get me a new one I wandered through the rest of the store. Which is organized very well. All the Pops were displayed in the their own little sections, and I realized I'm not even close to collecting them all. Sad I can't wait to return to add to my collection.

FIRST THING Tommy(owner) Super Nice Guy. Shook my hand once I got inside and introduce himself. GUY even offered me a cough drops because I had a Sore Throat. CAN'T get any more FRIENDLY than that. BEST PLACE for FUNKO POPS. BIGGEST SELECTION I've seen by far from the newest pops to some that are hard to find in Stores. Well organized and fully stocked. If you don't see it you can ask and Tommy's most likely to have it. Prices are $11 tax included great prices for the Huge selection and on top of that he had some Special sale on Some Pops for $4.99. Overall I'm Happy I found this place HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! Most Definitely Coming back They also have rare toys, model and Drones and a great selection of toys inside Ps. Don't be flood by the location Outside this Placing is Amazing inside

Yesterday I was bummed not finding pikachu at Target my husband reminds me of this place my friend told me about. So we went in just to see what I find, I found A Lot! I was going to check out when I decided to ask about Tiana and Prince Neveen. Tommy had it and was more than gracious to part ways with it. Thank you again!

Sega Pop-Up Shop @ Anime Jungle…read more I had a great time checking out the Sega Pop-Up Shop in Little Tokyo at Anime Jungle! The pop-up runs through August, and while the main focus is Sonic the Hedgehog, they also have merch from Persona and Yakuza. Going on a weekday with a friend was definitely the right move--we only had to wait a few minutes to get in. Upon entering, staff hands you a ticket, and employees closely monitor the room while you browse. The shop is exceptionally well-organized, making it fun to look through all the beautiful, high-quality items. Since almost everything is directly imported from Japan and hard to find in the U.S., the prices are definitely on the higher side, but the exclusivity makes it worth it. I couldn't resist picking up a miniature Shadow the Hedgehog plush! The only downside to the visit was the customer service at checkout. The two employees at the register were busy chatting with each other, so I eventually had to speak up to ask if I could check out. The employee who rang me up seemed annoyed by the interruption, skipped any friendly greetings or questions about my visit, and just handed over my item after scanning it. Despite that brief hiccup at the counter, the overall experience was super positive. It was so fun wearing my Sonic shirt, seeing all the Japanese exclusive merchandise, and taking in the atmosphere. I highly recommend swinging by before it closes at the end of the month!

Great selection but employees need a major adjustment…read more Stopped in shortly before closing to make a purchase and was told there was a $10 minimum for tap payments, since I had forgotten my wallet. No problem--I started looking for another item to add since I was planning to spend more anyway. As they started to announce the store was closing, I asked if I could quickly grab cash from a friend outside the store and was asked, "Can you do it in 3 minutes?" This same associate was managing the customers going in to the store and she seemed to have issues remembering people's faces. I understand the store was closing, but the interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming. I was still trying to make a purchase and likely would have bought additional items, but after being treated like an inconvenience, I decided to leave instead.

The reason why I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 is because of a bad experience today with the door person. We came in today, July 19th around the afternoon, about 3-4 PM. I understand their bag policy, it sucks but what can you do. We were very compliant with the doorman, but he seemed to have an attitude. Listen man, I get that it's hot and you may be having a day, but that doesn't mean you get to be rude. We went in, and immediately he needed to take our bags. We complied cause it's policy, and I politely told him "oh I have a small bag!" As in to tell him we have another bag to give him. He took it the wrong way and said "trust me I don't want to take it more than you do" under his breath. Buddy, I can hear you. I didn't even say it in a rude way, I'm just informing you that there was another bag. Whatever, we handed all our bags over, one of which was a bag carrying some merchandise (mainly some posters we purchased from another event we came from) mind you, there was 4 posters from a limited time event in there, worth $65. He asked "what's in the bag" all judgmental, like buddy, I get you need to know so you know where to place it on the shelf, but there is such a thing as asking in a nicer way like "is there anything delicate in here" or such. I told him it was some posters I had got. So. TELL ME WHY THIS GUY PUT THE BAG WITH THE POSTERS LAYING FLAT DOWN FIRST AND THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT OUR HEAVY BACKPACK AND OUR SMALLER BAG ON TOP OF IT. BUDDY. YOU ARE USING A METAL RACK SHELF, AND PUTTING HEAVY ITEMS ON TOP OF PAPER. SOME OF IT WAS EVEN ON THE EDGE SO YOU'RE ACTIVELY CREASING AND BENDING MY BELONGINGS. Anyone should know if you have anything fragile like posters, you would put it on top of the other bags so they do not get folded or creased or get and indents. I quickly told him if he can put the bag with the posters on top because I don't want them to get creased or bent. He doesn't say anything and just quickly does it, but he made a face. Buddy, if you don't like your job or can't do it well enough to know common sense like not putting delicates under heavy items, quit and go find something else, and leave your attitude at the OUTSIDE the door. I went home after this, and saw that all of four of my posters were creased in the same spot, coincidentally the same spot that was bent over the edge of the shelf. I don't care if they're posters and they can be replaced, not everyone has the luxury to replace broke items, especially not limited ones, I spent my hard earned money on it for it to be permanently ruined by some boy who doesn't care about other people's belongings despite being entrusted to handle them. Anyways, come for the merch! But maybe leave your valuables someplace where you know they'll be safe from damage.

But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.
