The Baseline: For a retail shopping experience, quality merchandise must be provided, a quality environment must be established, and the items need to relevant to the store. Service: I have had good service here and in the past they have assisted me with special orders that was "friendly local gaming store" exclusives. Staff has always been friendly. They also have a lot of game tables in the store that groups can rent out to play their games on. When I came in there was a group playing Dungeons and Dragons, which seamed like they were having a lot of fun. Selection: Decent selection of games here but the card (Pokémon, Magic the Gathering, etc.) is the meat and bones of the Game Hub retail. The selection is good from what I understand but I am not a collectible card game enthusiast. Worth checking out if you are though. Value: The games here are standard retail price and they have a decent selection of miniatures for sale. read more

This is an awesome place for comics. Big selection and some vintage stuff all at relatively fair prices....Now onto the Game Hub, the new guy they hired to run their card section is not super well informed. They don't price their cards which I already find insufferable for a local shop - I understand card shows go off TCG market prices, but there's no reason for a comic shop that sells some mid-tier cards to mostly kids and some hobbyists to not price their stuff in the case - it's lazy and inefficient - and you will be waiting awhile while they look up their prices on TCG. Considering they aren't selling a bunch of slabs or really pricey cards. I think it's odd to treat cards as a secondary form of their business but to at the same time price at or above market prices, on top of that - their lead card guy doesn't really seem to have a great grasp on running his side of the store anyways. Also, just fair warning - I would be extremely cautious buying single packs from here because they are from open boxes that are weighable. If you are unsure about that statement - they are selling loose ascended heroes booster packs....those are not available at wholesale - meaning these guys are pulling packs from other box sets and selling them...not saying that means for sure they are weighing them, but I'd be cautious, especially when buying from an open booster box that has guaranteed hits. All in all, I think they could be fostering a much better card shop environment - one that finds balance between not getting taken advantage of but still serving their community. They could price themselves more competitively and slightly below market prices on new products and still make a great profit and not rake their own community over the coals. I like this shop. I've been coming to this shop for years for comics and figures, but I'd like to see a bit more of an overhaul with the card side and staffing in general here. I realize the owner is pretty hands off with the card side of the business, but I think the hiring could be better. read more

The Game Hub has the best selection of board games and large tables for you to play with friends if you want. If you are a D&D fan, go there. They also have cards and any game you might be looking for. Parking is in the front of the store, mind the signs. You will find a spot. The staff is just great. I think I met the owner, but not sure, whoever was working the counter was so knowledgeable and super sweet. read more

Price wise, they usually have a selection of items on sale (up to 40% off) as well as used demo versions, so you can get some great deals! My score is accounting for the belief that the space will continue to grow and mature over time as it already has. As an extension of the Comic Bug, I have faith that the owners will put a lot of love and attention into this space as time goes on. As it is, it's excellent that the South Bay has its own dedicated game store with plenty of space for gaming. I usually come here 1-2 times a month for a board game meetup and they usually have plenty of space and tables to go around. Their staff is really great. Their game selection is still fairly small, but continues to grow. The prices are a bit too high, which isn't unusual for a brick and mortar game store, but I've seen more competitive prices at other physical game stores in the LA area. The demo/library of board games is pretty small and mostly mass market stuff. Hopefully they will start getting demos from publishers now that they are an official retailer. So, yes, there is certainly room to grow, but I have no doubts they will. read more

Pretty cool spot to go for Pokémon cards. I usually go two to three times a week to buy individual cards. I always receive a welcome greeting from whoever is working on the day I come by. Half of my binder is made up from cards that I've purchased from here. This is the only card shop I go to now since it's local and they have great cards along with booster packs. read more

I've been a customer of the Comic Bug next door for years. After getting my comics for the week I decided to pop in and see what they had Pokemon card wise. I paid $10.99 for a card, which seemed like a great deal for a nm black star promo. However, after doing some research I found out the card goes for $2 at the highest. I'd rather wait a week for shipping from trollandtoad and pay 1/5th the price than shop here. A bit of a letdown considering Comic Bug has always had amazing prices for their products. read more

I have been playing Warhammer 40k here for the last few months. We started as a small group but have been growing and have been supported by the store and the staff. We play Tuesday nights and there are normally 2 to 3 games going with plenty of spectators.
