Best comic book store, ever! Gerald always makes me feel at ease even though I'm the very definition of a noob Jun and Mike are great owners, really make the place feel like a local hangout place instead of just a store. Keep on keepin' on!

Hands down one of the most coolest set up of a comic store. Such a hidden gem. Perfect for date nights to look around with your significant other or to buy your boyfriends/girlfriend's favorite hero comics! It's very clean and organized in the shop. The owner and all of the staff are so nice they're fun to talk with! Not to mention all of the comics are affordable. And you can tell they're taken care of because of how good quality they're in. They have such a wide selection of other items such as action figures posters books and such much more. The prices ranges but trust me you can score really cool comics for such an affordable price. I really recommend this place 100/10. Will be visiting more:)

I want to say that The Comic Bug is your one stop location for all your comic book needs! They have it all from awesome figures on every inch of the wall to Comics you are looking for! I went in here and I believe I spent a couple hours just looking through their entire collection of comics! I would 100% highly recommended anyone in the Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles area to stop by here if you're looking for a great comic book store!! If you want to see my day/ tour of The Comic Bug. Make sure to checkout my YouTube channel "The Merc's On The Mic" you will definitely enjoy it!!

Here's my updated refresher review as my testimonial to being a "regular" customer who patronizes The Comic Bug. The staff remains super friendly and helpful, with Eddy and Gerald being the 2 who I see most frequently. The merchandise and pricing is top notch. They have current new releases, back issues and $1 bins filled with bargains and potential treasure. My 7 year old has been coming either me since he was born. He's treated well with kindness and welcomed to look around. This is a family friendly spot that Jun has created. No grumpy LCS attitudes here. I've referred many comic collecting peers to come here through the years and many have switched loyalties and made the Comic Bug their go-to LCS for their routine pull-lists committing to advance pre-orders due to their system, reliability and vibe. So, this here is more of a confirmation of the status quo after decades of coming here and still coming here... in fact, today 04-03-24 Wednesday's New Comic Release Day, I will check-in too!

The Comic Bug is a great little comic book store in Manhattan Beach. Parking is easy on the street and the place is on Manhattan Beach Blvd. so it is hard to miss. The place is spotless and there are a lot of tables for people to sit and actually read the comics if they want. How nice of them. The staff is great. They know comics, all of them. They know where they are and what type you need based on the questions you ask. I know nothing of comic books and my grandson has a few communication issues, so I really needed help to get my grandson the comics he would like. He is not a collector, so he will read and toss them. They have the expensive comic books, hard cover comics and all sorts of collector things. This little place has really everything. The staff talked to my grandson and were so patient with him. They saw he was with his Bubbie and they know we spend money, but instead of showing stuff beyond his abilities, they directed him to the huge one dollar collection. My grandson was in heaven because he got to pick out a few instead of one. He was so happy with his selection. I just love this place and we will be back, even though it is a drive for us. Go there.

This is a pretty awesome comic book store tons of comics figures books they do signings here all kinds of things another separate room that has cards and game room. I guess I'm not sure exactly but staff is super nice. Prices were normal. Definitely come back to buy comics here again.

This review is long overdue. Comic books are my passion. And this store is my home base, my happy place, and where I get my comic pull. I was introduced to the store by a friend who knew one of the owners. And I've loved their store from their old location, to their current one. What I have loved about this store, and what brings me back are it's clean layout, availability of new issues, an indie section, as well as fun things around the store (if you look up towards the ceiling, you might see some cool Star Wars ships). There's also lots of local comic artists and writers who stop by on the regular. Lastly, something that I have loved, and can be easily missed is a kid's comic book section. Now as a father to a baby girl, I'm looking forward to bringing her here when she is a little older! Much love to Jun and the Comic Bug crew

100% customer service from Eddie, waited for us to arrive and hand delivered our items. He was able to recommend add on times that we didn't know we needed. Isn't that always the case LOL. Such a great spot that's been there for decades. Great spot for all your comic & card gaming needs. Reasonable prices and unique finds. They had funky pop figures , and a few hard to find comic con finds. Heard they sometimes buy unique comic finds too. I'll be back for sure.

I reserved a comic book for a specific cover. I was instead given a different comic. Lost out on a key comic.

LA Comic Art Show - June 5, 2022

    LA Comic Art Show

    (1 review)

On Sunday, November 4, 2018 the inaugural LA (Los Angeles) Comic Art Show was held at The Hilton…read moreGarden Inn in Redondo Beach, CA, the South Bay of LA, in the coastal Beach Cities area. This was a relatively small show held in a small hotel conference room because it was really niche and specialized with a focus on high-end original comic book artwork. No comic books, no costumed cosplayers, no B-List celebrity autographs. It is a pure published art show, where most of the dealers brought at least $1 million in priced original artwork merchandise for sale (or trade). Attending as exhibitors (according to their website) were: Will's Comic Art Page (Will Gabri-El) Genesis West (Mike Thibodeaux) Koch Comicart (Pete Koch) Cool Lines Art (Rich Donnelly) Josh Gray Leo Chua Nostalgic Investments (Bechara Maalouf) Odyssey Comic Art (Saul Zimmerman) Panel Page Art (Glen Brunswick) Art Restorations Specialist (James Pascoe) Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center (Tom Kraft) Most of the dealers were highly reputable sellers who have a public online presence selling through their own websites and recognized as expert authorities with decades of experience in the comic art hobby. This is a fast growing sector within the art world and comic book hobby. I'd estimate most artwork for sale ranged from as little as $25 and as high as pieces priced over $100,000, with most pieces in the $3,000-10,000 range for highly recognized super-hero characters rendered by top named masterpiece artists. Most of the artwork was from the Silver Age to Bronze Age era's of comics in the 1960's through the 1980's as the sweet spot most collectors clamor towards. There wasn't much modern (recent) artwork present. On the positive side, it was almost all published artwork and not riddled by mediocre unpublished commissions and no-name amateur artwork nor mass produced (and often unlicensed) prints you'd find at many if not most comic conventions. This convention was for the more higher end and prestigious collector and investor more so than casual fans. Admission was $20. It's a fair price given the overhead costs to run a show. To the savvy collector, that $20 is easy to pay to gain access to one-of-a-kind rare original artwork, where you're negotiating deals in the thousands of dollars. Even if you can't afford to spend hundred, thousands, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands, it's almost like visiting an Art Museum to see historical original artwork in-person at this show. For an inaugural convention, the debut of the LA Comic Art Show has promise and potential to grow into a great convention without getting too big or losing focus. I'm looking forward to seeing how the show evolves in 2019. Parking was super easy and FREE in the hotel parking lot. The hotel itself is conveniently located near the 405 South/North Freeway as well as the MTA Metro public transit (the station is just across the street), also near LAX Los Angeles Airport.
