Hey everyone, just wanted to say stop before you read the one and two stars. I went in there for the first time ever yesterday. I just gotta say, they were super chill and helpful and have a huge variety for a small shop. No lie felt like I was 4-5 again going to the nearest store looking at cards. Chris was there helping me, ironically my name is Kris as well. He was super friendly and made sure he helped out. This place is dope and love it. Now when it comes to tournaments I don't know. But as a store it's top notch. Keep up the good work guys! Also prices are good, they go with their competition, idk who got lowballed here but you're mistaken. Owner is friendly and responded back to me quickly by messages on here. I have been out in the Yu-Gi-Oh game for over 3 years now while focusing on my career, and moving down here to California as well. Last Sunday, I decided to pick up on my favorite hobby, dueling! As I got to the store, I circle around for parking; it seems like they don't have parking, so I did street-parking (easy to find, not a big deal especially on Sunday). When I walked into the shop, I noticed the Owner right away just as he noticed me as well. I learned that 2 new formats have changed since I last played. Owner took the time to helped me catch up and learned both of the new formats, especially "Link Summoning"! Also, trouble him to show me card-list (entry pack) from his phone to see if I want one ($5) or two ($10) packs; I end up picking out one pack since I did not know any of the new format cards, or any use to my current old deck I brought in to play that day (yes, blindly). And as well as the new "Advanced Format" that he showed me from their laptop. When the tournament finally started, every game I was learning and adjusting to the new format and cards. I learned a lot have changed for the pass 3 years (for I did not recognized any of the old deck), and I am glad that the Owner clearly explained the format in the beginning for me, so all I had to do was adjust learning each of the new cards that was being played from each round. Other than the new format and meta cards, some deck that I was able to recognize such as Six Samurais, Heroes, Lightsworns, and Darklords all got a new boost and big changes. Also, learned a lot of new hand traps (which was crazy and blew my mind)! Most players was patience and helped me understand, but of course, some rude local players (for my slow playing due to being new, trying to read and understand each card that is being played) was to be expected even though I was not that competitive and not trying to stall for time. Overall, good experience even though I lost most of my games (rarely for me) and amazed to see a big and good Mexican duelists (rare or none from my hometown). I gave my unopened entry pack to my first duelist, Jose, that I played in the tournament at the end of the day for being friendly with me throughout the event, and answering any questions I had. Definitely will be back on the weekend to duel again, feels like home again (back in my old school-days). read more

Went here for the Pokemon Cosmic Eclipse prerelease and had a blast. The community had people of all ages and everyone seemed like they had a good time. I even got to trade cards with a couple people after. The owners were nice and fair in all their rulings. Even after the event, I left a binder full of cards and I was worried they were lost. The staff, however, got a hold of it and kept it safe for me to pick up the next day. All in all I will be returning to the store. read more

I tried to like this place, I really did. It's the closest card shop to my home, the next being CoreTCG (10 miles over). The shop itself is pretty spacious, well-lit, and with the exception of a few opened booster packs -- clean. However, the biggest problem with ProjectCCG are the way they run their tournaments; specifically Yu-Gi-Oh! Their tournaments last forever. FOR-EV-ER. I've been here on multiple occasions from 4-10pm because the staff can't seem to uphold a standard time limit per round but then again they also lack a qualified, Konami judge. When you're in need of a ruling, you're stuck asking one of the store staff (who clearly isn't well-versed in the competitive scene) or the random guy next to you with the Dark Magician Girl deck box. Employees here are also competing against you which is pretty weird when they are also the so called "judges" who decide rulings. Quite a conflict of interest there. A vast majority of competitors who play here are pretty rude and also friends with Johnny of ProjectCCG who seemingly gives them special treatment such as "buys" when they show up late to tournaments, which can make for an unfair and toxic playing environment. All in all, I'll be sticking to CoreTCG over in Pasadena. It's way more cramped and a further drive but at least they create a welcoming and definitely more fair, competitive environment. read more

The service was great all employees looked eager to help and all prices where reasonable and not blown out of proportion, the cards where all in great shape besides the clearly marked (played, lightly played, heavily played) markings on them. I came here expecting to be a part of this tournament and getting a few new cards but unfortunately unless your the owners personal friends you won't get priority over spots. Had I known that personal relationships at this shop gives you benefits that your average customer does not get, I would've turned around and not have wasted my time getting there. It's a cool shop all around but they also lowball like crazy and the owner is very Rude . He wouldn't go lower $10 on a booster box but when someone else walked in he personally knew he gave a discount right away, they treat the people they personally know way better than the average customer. Also tried to make small talk with him but he seemed uninterested and didn't respond when I asked him something about what he was talking about . Prices are somewhat decent but pretty high . He also just stares at you as if you're gonna rob the place and if you ask multiple questions he gets annoyed as if you're there just looking around and not going to buy anything. Bought 2 Japanese booster my 2 times I been there and he was just plain rude . But some of the other employees were cool and answered my questions no problems and even showed me the complete card list for multiple boxes I asked to see , but the owner needs to change his attitude or else I'm really going to call him out next time Forsure because this is the closest shop near me and I enjoy going in there and looking at all the different stuff they have but the owner makes it hard to do so . First time going and it was a pleasure. I had to buy birthday presents for my twin boys and they were very helpful with all the questions. I also did not feel taken advantage of, prices i felt were reasonable not knowing this industry. I honestly recommend this place because compared to the store in little Tokyo that sales same type of merchandise service is what make stores too and these guys or top professional compared to the other store who are rude just because you don't know there world. For parents looking to buy for your kids this is the place to go you will be help out without them making you feel uncomfortable. read more
