Gold Pikachu full art
Lilian W.

Wild Card Cyclone is a card shop that's on the block with Parklane Dental. I drive by Las Tunas often and have never taken notice of this card shop. A tree covers the sign. So, unless I walked on the side walk, I never would've known it was there. There's free parking available in the parking lot behind the block. The inside is long. One side had merchandise, figurines, and cards on display. The otherwise had tables for people to play. It seemed like there was a tournament going on when I went. I came here for the Pokémon card full arts. They had an amazing array of Pokémon's from the various regions, and in different styling such as gold and rainbow rares. The ones I got were from the Hoenn region, ranging from $5-$10 per card. They don't have prices by them unless graded. Those were a treat to see. It showed a range of grade 8-10. The most expensive graded card I saw was $1400 for a Gengar vMax grade 10. The service is okay, as good as it would get for a card store. I'll definitely be back for the Pokémon full arts.

Huge Pokemon singles selection

SERVICE: (2/2) This was on point. There is one person being the counter ready to give you prices on the single. My kids and I were in the area and had time to kill so we came to check this spot out. SELECTION: (2/2) They had more singles than most of the places we frequent. The selection was great. They had a lot of cards that I needed. A lot of cards my kids liked. VALUE: (0/1) This is where I took a star away. Their pricing was ALL over the place. At the time of this review I'm collecting Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Obsidian Flames and I'm missing all the lower valued cards $1-5 cards. They had three I needed but they priced them 300% of the market. I love supporting local shops but that was crazy. Weird thing was, cards $25 and above were close to market price. AMBIANCE: They had tables all over the shop. A back room before the rear entrance was a dedicated gaming area. This was a plus. OVERALL: we would probably visit here again once I move on to a new set and looking for the higher valued cards.

Got 3.5 booster boxes and got these! This place brings good luck!

Much luck here! Get them while you can! Workers ever so helpful and in a good mood! I usually come for their weekly Pokémon locals, they got good pricing and price.

Customer service is bad, I've been here twice and there are better card shops. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Avoid this store for tournaments…read more I had a confirmed registration through the Bandai app for their tournament, yet when I arrived 10 minutes early, I was turned away. The store had set an early check-in cutoff that was only announced on their private Discord server, with no notification on the Bandai app where players actually registered. As a result, waitlisted players were let in ahead of those of us with confirmed spots, and we were then told to join a waitlist of 40+ people, despite having already secured our registrations. Several other registered players I knew experienced the same problem. Many of them had driven over 45 minutes with the assumption of a secured spot while arriving before the start time. This is a serious problem. If an event is open to the public and registration is handled through the Bandai app, critical information like check-in deadlines should be communicated through that same platform, not buried in a Discord that not all participants know about or have access to. The way this was handled strongly favors locals and regulars who are already in their circle, which is unfair to outside players who followed the proper registration process. I would not recommend supporting this shop.

They host tournaments as well, and have plenty of tables and chairs for casual play. It seems like locals and visitors drop by to check out this spot. The first time we came, we did not receive the best customer service. We were asking for what cards they had available and the person at the counter had short answers and we were ignored no matter how many times we tried to get their attention. The second time we came, it was much friendlier and warm. They shared with us that tournaments for One Piece tournaments happen (at least for now) on Thursdays and Sundays. We are still "shopping" around for an LCS but we will definitely keep them in mind and come to a tournament to check out the community. I like how the shop has an open space feel to it and offer some food and drinks.

As a middle-aged father looking for a hobby we could share that didn't involve screens or video games, I'd read a bit about Gunpla and decided to give it a shot. What a find! The owner was incredibly helpful and patient with us, taking the time to understand what we were looking for and guiding us to first sets that were perfect for our skill levels. His enthusiasm was genuine, and it made the whole experience fun and welcoming, never overwhelming for complete beginners like us. The prices are very reasonable, which is a huge plus when you're testing out a new hobby with your kid. We both walked out with our own kits, and I have to say, I'm just as hooked as my son! Building these models has been a surprisingly relaxing and rewarding experience, and I'm already looking forward to tackling more complex builds and refining them. I'm planning to return soon to pick up a few more sets for Christmas gifts and to expand my own collection. If you're looking for a screen-free activity to share with your children or just want to explore the world of Gunpla, I highly recommend stopping by this shop. The passion and knowledge of the owner really make all the difference.

Went to have a painting framed, that I've had since the 90's…read more It was done by a family member and I am quite fond of it. A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! Some of the more expensive and fragile collectibles are showcased behind glass. Great for avid collectors!! Tired of shopping on Amazon like me?? There is a free public parking structure behind the store. Some of their blind boxes are slightly cheaper than same boxes at other similar collectible stores. The anime selection is above average and there's a giant Capsule Corp background (from Dragon Ball) and a giant Luffy figure (from One Piece) to take pictures with. The One Piece trading card vending machine was out of service at the time of my visit. This is one of those stores that is great to at least stop by for those who are into anime or Sanrio plushies. Personally, I still prefer Ebisu Life Store a bit better. P.S. - Due to limited availability of pennies, cash totals are rounded to the nearest $0.05.
