While shopping for mofusand toys online, my search lead me to Top Canvas. For those of you who love…read moretoys and collectibles, this store offers a wide variety of merchandise. Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! Some of the more expensive and fragile collectibles are showcased behind glass. Great for avid collectors!! Tired of shopping on Amazon like me?? Then support your local business and come to Top Canvas. It's so much more fun to go shopping at a brick-and-mortar store where one can actually physically feel and touch what they're buying.

There is a free public parking structure behind the store. Some of their blind boxes are slightly cheaper than same boxes at other similar collectible stores. The anime selection is above average and there's a giant Capsule Corp background (from Dragon Ball) and a giant Luffy figure (from One Piece) to take pictures with. The One Piece trading card vending machine was out of service at the time of my visit. This is one of those stores that is great to at least stop by for those who are into anime or Sanrio plushies. Personally, I still prefer Ebisu Life Store a bit better. P.S. - Due to limited availability of pennies, cash totals are rounded to the nearest $0.05.

They literally have something for everyone here. My daughter loved this place she's only one, but…read moreshe had a blast looking at and sifting through the wide range of toys. Most of the toys are for kids just a bit older, so her choices were somewhat limited. They do have a decent number of dinosaur toys, figurines, and accessories, as you might expect from the name "The Dinosaur Farm." However, they offer a wide range of toys, everything from lava lamps to play dough. There's a decent amount of plush animals and educational toys as well. The staff is helpful and friendly, and there's usually parking available on the street."

30 YEARS OF BUSINESS IN PASADENA AND NOT EXTINCT!…read more I was one of those dinosaur kids growing up and I know I would have loved this place if I visited as a kid. Heck, learning of its existence, I love it even now as an adult. Everything is very dinosaur themed and very geared towards both children and the community. They have events that support the community too such as book readings and much more. Make sure to join their email list before checking out. I love that they also have cute dinosaur themed gift wrapping paper too. I think a neat touch that they have is all the dinosaur art that they have on the walls as well as the cute dinosaur trinkets and toys that they have all around. I love the variety of little plastic dinosaur figurines that they have. Probably the most diversity of species that I have seen and in the most sizes too. Some which I have never even heard of, so much more than the stereotypical T-rex and Triceratops that you can find anywhere else. Also, fear not, there are toys and other goods for the other children in your family/party who may not be as dinosaur inclined if that is your worry. I got a really neat Dinosaur Farm t-shirt there (they come in blue and green) and a little figure for my desk. It def more of a toy store geared towards children than a super educational museum store towards geeky adults, but that's fine with me too! As a dino enjoyer, I support all ventures into the prehistoric practice!

Collector's Paradise is more or less a classic comic book shop featuring new and backissues,…read moregraphic novels, posters, pins, and many other things. The emphasis, though, is primarily new and recent comics. Passing through on a rainy afternoon I was pleased to find its location is near a few important stops in Pasadena, and there's some parking available in the private lot. I was mostly there to check out the selection and see if they specialized in anything unique. Not to say they don't, but it's still a well-stocked store. I was the only customer and enjoyed the classic jazz playing in the background. Pro Tip: Most established comic shops have subscription plans paid annually, or one-time up front. A customer goes through Comic Book Geek to pick their titles and sometimes preferred cover art, and the shop pulls their requests and holds them until the customer picks up the stash.

Now, they were all no Stewart comic book store but out of all of the ones in the area, this was the best by far. Chill vibes, plenty of comics, easy access, and easy to purchase at the end. Only critiques I would give it would be to have a little more for the other collectors. And what I mean by that, have a couple more action figures, Funko, pops, etc. that will probably bring in some more people for sure. The other thing would bethe music playing in the speakers. Didn't care too much for the rock, but still all in all, nice place to go. There's plenty of parking and easy to find.

Really Great Store and Hidden Gem I shopped in years every time I visit Los Angeles…read more Staff there is very down to earth and kind. But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Prices there are very reasonable too, honestly, I prefer going to this store compared to places like Jungle or Robot4Less due to price reasons. I would absolutely recommend this store for those who are in the hobby or starting to get into a hobby.

Hidden Gem Alert!…read more Attention hobbyists and gift givers: Neo Happyland might just be your new happy place. Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.
