The best stuffed toy place in Santa Anita Mall! Talking about selections?! They have everything that you are probably looking for. It's all original and not just whats called authentic. These days, we have to be very careful in buying. There are so much fakes or what they call authentic lingering around I love their customer service. If you can't find what you need, they will tell you if they have coming and when. Their prices are very competitive compare to other stores within them. They have a friendly atmosphere. If you are a collector, specially those Pop Mart's rare collections, mostly you will find it here. Just make sure get them as soon as you see them because they are gone easily. Came in for mystery boxes and they have Al kinds including all monster series, the guy behind the counter was cool and helped choose my mystery box, they have tons of things to look at we basically did some labubu shopping with general decent pricing for them that wasn't gouging. Walked in on a whim because I just wanted to look around and noticed they sold official pop mart items. Although they're sold on a resell price I understand why because they're insanely hard to get that honestly you're paying the up-charge and the gas it takes to pick up + saving you the stress of having to try and camp out on popmart website. They also let you scan the code to verify the authentication. Ended up buying the coca cola labubu series for my friend and I because Popmart is not restocking them anymore and I got the one I wanted! I had fun chatting with the man working there! Lovin' their ad displays on their window: that's such a smart way of advertising their products in store. I wonder why all of a sudden, there exists so many Japanese boutique stores here now at Santa Anita Mall, Arcadia, CA. When I was working here last year, I didn't witness these many. Well. Who doesn't love Sanrio though. This is a long overdue review because I actually came shopping with a coworker here before and didn't pen a review till now. Today on April/3/24, I noticed there's a similar name store called, 'Neko Stop,' which also sells similar products. Honestly my least favorite store in Santa Anita Mall. If you're looking for blind boxes, I suggest going to Neko Stop and Kinokuniya Bookstore instead that's right across from Maneki Neko. Those other stores have more reasonable prices, and here they upscale it by A LOT. Smiskis here are 18.99 and the hippers are 23??? and the smikis in Neko Stop are 12.50 (lower stock however) and Kinokuniya are 15.99 (higher stock). I really dislike Maneki Neko because of their prices despite their large variety. I also really dislike coming here because of the rude staff. The staff never smile and seem very unwelcoming, they always seem upset and not very friendly/helpful to talk to. I asked the cashier a question and she just cut me off and answered it rudely, and a bit intimidating for some reason? I honestly avoid this store as much as possible because of their prices and sometimes their stuff doesn't seem very authentic, there's places literally next door with similar or the same stuff I can get for a better price with better customer service. read more

I love their product it was good. I got a repeat item so i was asking for help for their popmart purchase so popmart can replace it for me (was not asking them to replace it for me) but they just kept saying their product is legit, they dont do replacement (which i never asked), wont show proof of purchase and replies was very very slow and they just stopped replying and i got tired and just let it go. I don't think it's fake, didn't reach out for that, i just wanted them to communicate better. read more

BE CAREFUL!! The baby three I got at this store was most likely fake!! The box didn't open smoothly, the strap broke right away. Also, the blinky was NOT at all in the collection and it looked nothing like the official card. The worker changed it for a new one and the exact thing happened again. Really cute shop! Has the vibe of a dollar store or kinda like Daiso but only half of the shop LOL. It's really cool. They have Pokémon plushies on one side of the room, canned drinks and snacks in the middle, random little trinkets, figures, keychains in the back but also mixed with plushies, and then a wall of beauty products. We came here to check out their small stock of Pokémon re-ment figures since we're obsessed with blind boxes, these especially, but didn't find anything from their tiny selection. However, we did end up leaving the store with a handful of their Dragon Ball Z soda cans! They have unique flavors and they're delicious! My favorite are the kiwi and melon ones so far and they have a deal of something like buy 4 and get 1 free. Was interested in buying a labubu for my cousin and I know nothing about it so I asked the cashier hey what's the difference between those 3 boxes you have? He looked at me like he had no time to answer that question and he annoyingly said "one is sitting and one is standing." Then he grabs his cellphone and starts using it right in front of me. No idea why this place doesn't have more stars. In the back, there's a typical rack of Asian beauty and skincare products and some anime posters. The real amazing things about the store are 1) a fantastic and affordable wall of cute stickers of characters I can't identify but essentially bought and 2) the fantastic clearance rack, which always has random stuff for sale. Stickers are cute and I have attached pictures here. Nikoni dog? Don't know what the character is, but I definitely want to know more and thus had to buy these stickers. Very cute! Cheap too for the amount of stickers you get - this kind of stuff often costs like $6-8 at other stores. The clearance rack is so heavily discounted, it's honestly not even worth it to see if you actually want something. You can honestly just pick it up and feel no regrets if it doesn't work out the way you want. I picked up four different palettes of eyeshadow which I could presumably use for a cosplay - and it only cost $4 for something that would have costed $25 elsewhere. Like at that cost, I don't even feel bad if I just use it once or twice for a cosplay (in a way I would definitely feel bad if I spent the big bucks). The deals are basically unbeatable and it's always actually a fun way to kill a bit of time browsing what they have on sale. And at this point, the retail shopping experience primarily beats the online shopping experience simply because online doomscrolling (for products) really doesn't match up to the tactile sensation of rummaging through a box of great deals. An absolutely great store that as such, stands at the pinnacle of the platonic ideal of a retail shop. Strong endorsement! read more

They started selling PopMart items which is nice because there's another place in the mall other than Shibuyala and the Robo Shop to get collectibles from. However, this place upsells like crazy! They are definitely NOT AUTHORIZED POPMART RESELLERS BUT JUST PLAIN RESELLERS! At Shibuyala and the Robo Shop, the Power Puff Crybaby pendent was 17 bucks. At Maneki Neko? 27 BUCKS!! I've shopped here a couple times, and found that the service, and please note I use that term extremely loosely, warm as a dead fish. I bring up my purchases to the counter, and the clerk who's busily reading, finally rings up my item. I request a bag which is slipped to be and back to her reading. No acknowledgment, no thank you, no eye contact. Quite disappointing, as even a fast food joint like McDonalds will even give you an occasional acknowledgement. read more

PRO-TIP: I'd stop by this store first and get an idea of the price of the cosmetic or beauty item that you'd like and then go compare with the other similar stores at this mall. You can find some nice stuff on sale! I love their clearance rack here. I've bought some make up from Shiseido's MAJOLICA MAJORCA line, MISSHA eyeshadow, etc and it was all under $10. You CANNOT beat that deal; once I got around $150+ worth of Asian beauty and cosmetics for under $20. Insane. Like I'm conflicted writing this review because I don't want to lose out on these deals myself. I'm not really too keen on getting things that aren't on sale here, but they have a lot of other deals for their sheet masks and throughout the store. False advertisement. Went in and literally PAID for this plushie, but cashier wouldn't let us leave with the plush. She said "oh wait that's actually gonna be $40." As if I didn't already pay the listed price they put on the sticker of the item... we said no give us what we paid for and she tells us no but we can have a refund. Like you couldn't at least say something before we paid? Safe to say I would never step foot in this store again to save myself the trouble of bait and switch... oh and also saving myself from seeing the lewd items next to all of the children toys. YAAAY!! Theres lots of cutesy japanese stores that sells those fancy overseas cosmetics... but the only difference here is they carry the full NYX line! I use to go to Ulta just for NYX, but now that its at the mall its much more convenient. They have lots of Dollywink /Darkness eyelashes, nail polish (OPI, Essie,etc), Hello Kitty items, Palty hair dye, hair products, makeup brushes, eyelid glue/tape, etc. Its similar to Takashimaya, Takashima, Cosmeland, etc. They just opened so they're offering gifts with every purchase! I came to Maneki Neko store in Arcadia mall and I was disappointed with management at the store. They had a price on a specific item which I bought and already checked out. Then they found out the price was wrong and they made me return the item and forced a refund without asking me first. As a customer the cashiers needed to communicate with me first and they didn't even apologize. I felt that there is poor customer service at the store. read more

I'm not sure if the ownership of Maneki Neko changed, but I'm loving the new store layout and friendly service! The store has been completely revamped and updated with a very sleek and clean appearance. While the selection has changed significantly and they do not carry as many brands, the friendly service and harder to find brands they now carry make up the store's previous extensive inventory. They now carry brands like Hojo, Perfect Diary, JudyDoll, and Hold Live. The ladies at the shop were friendly, allowed me to shop peacefully, and even gave me a Gudetama plush as a gift with purchase. If you're in the area, definitely check out the new and improve Maneki Neko! read more

Savage store for sad gyarus; basically a Chinatown or Santee Alley street stall in a mall. Everything about it is superfluous and inessential which in itself isn't bad until you throw in the fact that it's severely overpriced junk. Even the shop girl is superfluous - absurdly and most impractically donning trendy large tortoise glasses without any lenses. The previous two times I went here last year were for a makeup setting mist but now that there are new and better stores with expansive options and more inexpensive yet better quality options in the mall I see no need to go here. No exchange or refund (which means they don't even believe in their own products), small, disheveled, dirty and overpacked. These types of shops shouldn't bother being in a modern day mall. I got 3 face masks for $14 but they were at Daiso with extra hygienic feature (the one here was Chinese not Japanese make) a box of 10, 30, or 40 (different colors and features) for $1.50. Tip: Go to Daiso which is located second floor outside accessible through Nordstrom for pretty much 95% of their products for less than half the price. Go to Nature Republic (K beauty store), NYX (new store), or Sephora for their cosmetics for better deals and guaranteed satisfaction with a loyal rewards program and a better return policy. Sephora carries effective Korean brands like Erborian and the one in Santa Anita is tailored to the market of Asian clientele than most Sephoras. This place sold decent Korean products last year, more aerated face mist choices, more makeup setting aerated mists...now they have only two brands that are sprays not mists, and many places in the mall not only have better and more affordable products they incentivize with good service and policies...and a woman working for them last year even recommended I buy vitamin E cream from GNC in the mall because she does and said she likes to use different products and not even the ones in the store. The vitamin E cream tube is $2 from GNC and I still use it to this day for general hand cream purposes. With so many practical, reasonable alternatives, the sheer existence of this shop confounds me. It says a lot when the one good honest worker I came across doesn't even use their junk. Based on that alone I don't know how they're in business. The few times I've been there, there were always shipment boxes on the ground floor to the right of the register that were obstructing a path and visually distracting. There is so much disorganization they could at least verbally give notice (like Daiso and any store having a final sale) that there's no refunds or exchanges and it's a final sale. They put their sign where you can't see it because it's against your thigh when you check out at their desk and / or it is visually obstructed by boxes. After the face mask discovery, this third time is my last time. Daiso wasn't open the last two times I've been here last year but now that it and Nature Republic are open, this place will be obsolete in no time soon. read more

I went here today to buy face masks which I found was cheaper than other places, but they had overpriced skincare products which was disappointing. I found a box that were and $10 bogo free. The cashier rang it up, and she didn't apply the discount. I told her about the discount and she said that it didn't apply, so I decided to not buy it and get something else. While I was looking for something else, the other cashier checked the rack of where I got the face mask boxes from and realized that I was correct and told the other girl to apply the discount. So I went back to buy it, and she still did not apply the discount, and I had to correct her again! Which then she applied the discount. If you shop here, really think know your prices and know what they are calculating because I would have had paid $10 if I did not catch them TWICE for miscalculating.
