Some of the chocolates are good, some not so flavourful. But what was disappointing was the customer service. The lady seemed to be in such a rush to leave that she literally just wanted you to tell her very quickly what you wanted to get you out of the door. She threw the number i foiled chocolates in a box very quickly and handed it to me. What a cute candy shop! I loved stepping in. It was fun to see the beautiful wrapping for chocolates for special occasions. Their chocolate is yummy. I tried a sample of the triple crunch and it was amazing. The chocolate was dark but it wasn't bitter at all and it wasn't tooo sweet. The chocolate felt smooth and soft. Very nice. I got like 20 pieces to try and I also bought their Dubai bar. The Dubai bar was tasty! I think I tasted a hint of amaretto. Very nice. read more

They make the best Dubai Chocolate bar, and trust me, I've tried a lot. The filling to chocolate ratio is just right! At $35 a bar, the price is comparable to others that I've tried. If your only chocolate experience has been mass market chocolate, you will find excellent chocolate here. Randomly stopped by during an afternoon walk and was overjoyed that Pasadena has a fancy chocolate store. There are times that I want some thing better than just a mass produced chocolate bar. The staff who helped me, was very knowledgeable about the chocolates. I randomly walked in and suddenly didn't know what I wanted to eat. I'm not a huge fan of liquidy insides., and prefer milk over dark chocolates. Unless, the dark chocolate has some very sweet cream inside. It's a very small store, but they have plenty of options for all kind of chocolate lovers, even ones who want to get experimental with their tastes. They have chocolate for all occasions, and all different shapes and sizes but they often run out of flavors by the end of the day. Anyone who knows me, knows I favor artisanal chocolate- I love to support literally all the local SD brands. Recently though, I jumped into another committed relationship and he doesn't like me buying superfluous things (his name is Car Loan, cough cough), so it no longer fits my budget. I've been happily eating my way through my holiday truffles from Trader Joe's. While up in LA, my girl gifted me these exquisite handmade beauties! I've never seen such unusual flavors, such as rose water, and I especially love the hand-painted champagne lips. Overall, these are absolutely beautiful, great for gifts and the chocolate itself is amazing. We stumbled upon this small little chocolate shop while in Old Town Pasadena and decided to pick up a gift box to go. You can choose from one of their premade gift boxes or make your own. The make your own ones are pretty pricey for the amount of pieces you get. This cute little chocolate shop is tucked away in old town Pasadena. I happened upon it as I walking around in Pasadena. This is a family owned chocolate store that has been around since 1935. The lady at the store was extremely friendly and was happy to help us with any questions we had. She gave us some samples to try as well. They have a mix from truffles to everyday milk and dark chocolates. We tried their truffles and their " M collection". Both of them were delicious! Definitely worth tryin out. To be perfectly honest, I was a bit apprehensive after reading a few reviews about less-than-stellar customer service...but the lady behind the counter (Sandra) transcended all of that by offering me a sample of chocolate before I even whipped out my Yelp check-in... So after asking about what was popular and gazing at all the pretty designs and reading the descriptions, I chose: 1). Ginger with lime sea salt - dark chocolate filled with ginger ganache topped with lime sea salt (their most popular) 2). Caramel cup - dark chocolate filled with liquid caramel and topped with Himalayan sea salt 3). Lavender - dark chocolate shell filled with lavender-dark chocolate ganache 4). Coconut Toffee - milk chocolate shell filled with liquid toffee-caramel topped with a coconut swirl I got it all to go in a beautiful brown box with shimmery orange lid and matching orange ribbon. There was also a gold Mignon sticker...build your own 4 piece box, $9.00 Mignon has a fascinating family history beginning in the Ukraine in 1910, followed by time in a Siberian prison camp (their crime- being too successful) and then on to 1970's chocolate success in Tehran and beloved sweet shop of the Shah of Iran. By the way, mignon, which Americans associate with steak, actually means "cute" or "dainty." I found these confections to be quite dainty and delicious. My friend and I were walking to our cars after lunch when we stopped by this shop. It smelled delicious and it looked delightful. The woman at the counter offered us a sample, and we tried the ginger and mojito (on her recommendation). You only get one sample each, but she was nice enough to cut each of ours in half. Works for us! They were so good. Naturally, we bought a pile of chocolate to take home with us. I took several pieces home to share with my husband and daughter. We're all chocolate fanatics, and we all have a strong preference for dark chocolate. We loved all five. The chocolate with chili was really smooth. You didn't get the spice until the end. The mint infusion in the mojito was so refreshing. The dark ganache was boring by comparison, but that's not to say it wasn't good. It's just that the others were really great. I asked for the best milk chocolate they had and the guy said the one with the milk ganache is the best and most popular. I also got the sesame one and rose one. The Pasadena one is small and cozy - they're displayed like jewelry treasures. ALL of these chocolates were excellent. I especially liked the addition of Sea Salt to many of the chocolates (a must with the Caramels). Presentation in the boxes are pretty (some of the chocolates have bright colors & patterns), too. However, it is a bit pricey; 12 chocolates are $25. I think its totally worth it. I saw this "mom and pop shop" when I on my way to pick up my takeout order around. The shop interior looks very vintage. The lady greeted me when I walked in. She found out that was my first visit, she was super friendly and nice enough to introduce and explain each flavor to me. I was so thrilled by all the flavors. I tried the chocolate after I got home and I was amazed at how tasty the chocolates actually are! Each taste does taste like what it supposes to be. I can't decide which one is my favorite because they all are delicious. I think I will go back and get more. They have gift boxes and wrapping available. My niece & I were craving for sweet stuff and she picked chocolate over cupcakes and cobblers. I got excited when I saw yelp sticker on the door. The place was empty when we got there and a lady greeted us when we walked in. The lady was so friendly and patient. So many beautiful chocolates proudly displayed on the counter. We were offered 4 different samples and I liked its ginger sea salt sample. They also sell some macarons here. We got bourbon whiskey, amaretto truffle (for me of course), ginger sea salt, hazelnut, milk chocolate ganache, irish creme truffle, and 56% dark. I was surprised I only paid $5.52 (including tax) for 7 chocolates. $5 minimum for credit card purchase. I was kinda disappointed with my chocolates but they were very cheap considering they were gourmet chocolates. I couldnt taste any alcohol in its alcohol chocolates..what a disappointment. No happy hour for me =( It's not bad but I've been eating Teuscher for a while so I've been spoiled. Teuscher ruins my taste buds so Mignon taste just meh to me. Sorry... 3 stars!! I stopped in around Christmas time to pick out two boxes of chocolates for gifts. Mignon was one of the few chocolatiers in the San Gabriel Valley, which was a great convenience for me since I had one afternoon to run this particular errand. My goal was to spend $25 per box and Mignon offers a 25 piece assortment. That is very affordable but for me, the downside was the packaging. I really did not like the standard Mignon branded box. Without mincing words, it did not look high-end. It was a glossy red cardboard box with some chintzy branding. After deciding I couldn't give anything in those boxes, I considered the variety of other non-branded gift boxes. I picked a chocolate brown one with a nice orange ribbon for the same price but contained fewer chocolates. At the time, I was happy to substitute quantity of chocolates for packaging. As I mulled it over more, I became more disgruntled that I had to make that sacrifice at all. Mignon should invest in more attractive branded packaging. I can barely speak about the chocolate, since I gave it all away but I did sample a piece of ginger one that was fine. read more

So, I used my Iphone to yelp search chocolatiers in the areas and came upon Mignon. Mignon is what I'd expect from a mom & pop chocolatier. The store seems cozy. Something you'd find in a small town. They display quite a selection of chocolates with different flavors in their refrigerated display. They also have pre-packaged/wrapped packages. The lady who worked there wasn't too helpful. I was the only one in the store and looked around on my own. After reading some of the yelp reviews, it looks like they give out samples, however, I wasn't offered any. Next time, I'm getting my double dose of samples!! It would of helped to at least taste and see what I thought might be good. read more
