ARS responded quickly and was able to book me for the next morning which was awesome. I reached out to several different movers and they all were comparable in price (ARS offered a cash discount) I was simply moving a mattress set and frame so the value was not there for me but no-one I spoke with gave a reduction for the local move. Literally, one bed, 1.1 mile. That being said the guys were GREAT! On time and fast. They put my bed together with no instruction. I appreciate that ARS was able to come, next day and hope in the future moving companies can make accommodations for small moves, such as this. read more

I would definitely use this moving company again. TJ and Tony were great and professional. They had a job in the morning and were upfront that they couldn't guarantee an afternoon time, but they arrived exactly on time anyways! Booking was easy and they called and emailed to confirm the day before moving day. read more

These guys are careful and they hustle! Everything about their service was pleasing. They were responsive from the start, on time, accurate in their estimate and packed everything so neatly and efficiently it was impressive. I was thinking no way would they got everything in one load but they did. They were polite and appreciative of the business. We bought pizza. It was hard to get then to stop long enough to eat but once they did it was obvious the hard work made them hungry. If I ever move again, I won't. OMG! It's so much work! But if I did I would only call American Relocation Service. I will recommend them to any friends or family who ask if "I know a guy." I guess I'm recommending them to you too. Good luck with your move! read more

They were fast and efficient. Turned up on time. Clear communication. Great experience!

I have to say that ARS Movers is the best moving company that I have ever used. Every part of the process was handled professionally and went very smoothly--from getting the initial quote, to scheduling, to arriving right on time to move me out of my 19th floor apartment, to transporting my two truck loads of goods to another city, to moving everything into my new four story townhome. AJ Lee and his team were phenomenal. They were each some of the hardest working individuals I have ever seen. They were very careful with every box and piece of furniture, and never once complained about the many, many stairs they had to climb during the arduous move into the townhome. If I was unsure of where a particular box should be placed, they insisted on opening it so that I could determine on which floor it should be taken. They said that they didn't want me to have to worry about moving the heavy boxes later by myself. Their consideration and courtesy was world-class. The price for the move was less than I expected, and was money well spent. I recommend ARS unreservedly, and would hire them again without a moment's hesitation. read more

Awesome company!! First call great price, 2nd call bit confusion but lily was great with her response and worked with me on my needs! Great communication through out. OMG!! ARS has renewed my faith and I will ONLY use company this when and if I move again. Kareem, Carlos and Isiah were by far the BEST mover I have ever had!! I had many fragile items and nothing was damaged or broken. My old home was left without a scratch and so was my new. Truly I have had my moves from hell but this one was a heaven sent!!! Thanks soooooo much ARS for making my move stress free!! read more

Great job, and customer service under a tight timeline. Folks at ARS worked with me every step of the way.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! They took their time carefully moving items. They listened and followed directions perfectly. Very professional and prompt. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs help moving. They bring their own truck and supplies as well. I'm so mad I found them after I moved but I'm glad I did. They were able to help us move all the the orginal moving company we hired did not move properly. And their prices were more than reasonable. Don't hesitate to call them today. read more

We moved in August this year with the help of ARS. They were on time, efficient, polite, and took great care of the floors by putting down mats. They packed our furniture meticulously and we didnt have any damage on our furniture or our TV and glass art pieces from the move. Their price was very reasonable. Would definitely use them again. read more

I had a local move and the crew were AWESOME! TJ, Aza, and Kamila did a great job moving from my 3 level townhouse to a two bed/two bath apartment in a high rise. They were on time, treat my stuff very carefully, nothing were scratched or damage. So impress with the crew and super friendly and nice. They made my move very easy and highly recommend them. read more

I was very impressed with ARS moving. The staff, Kamil and Shera were both very professional, kind, and cared for all my belongings without getting anything damaged. In the end, that is what I think we're all looking for with movers - reliable, and professional work. You will find it with ARS, and it is why I recommend them. Thank you again, Kamil and Shera. read more

I highly recommend ARS Movers! James was super responsive and helpful when setting up my move. I appreciate his transparency and honesty in giving me a quote and explaining the process. I never felt that he was pushing me to make any decisions instead, he provided me with all the information I asked for and more. The moving team of TJ and AZ were exceptional. TJ was very communicative leading up to the move. Both gentlemen were efficient, polite and extremely motivated to get the job done. I have nothing but positive comments for my whole experience with ARS Movers. Thank you again to James, TJ and AZ for making my move so seamless. read more

I am currently sitting at work and furious. Read that line alone and just stay away from this moving company. I don't doubt that the lady below me had an easy and good experience, but don't chance it. Just go to another company. My boyfriend and I paid around $500 to have them move from point A to point B. Fairfax, Virginia to Silver Spring, Maryland. With no traffic it takes about 40 minutes, with slight traffic I'd say 1.5 hours. I've been in extreme traffic and it has never taken me over 2 hours to travel that distance, much less the slight weekend traffic the moving guys had to endure. I should have known from the start that they would pull what they did. They arrived to our apartment at 9:30am, even though we were scheduled at 9am. They still wrote down 9am starting time until my boyfriend caught them. After both my boyfriend and I helped them pack everything - yeah we didn't just watch them do all the work - i left for work and they left with him, supposedly following him but they stated they had a gps. My boyfriend drove very slowly so they would be behind him but everytime he slowed down, they slowed down even more, and to get into Maryland we take 66 and get onto 495. Who doesn't know this? They kept getting way behind him and just stayed on 66, and "getting lost " in the process. Suffice to say they got to point B over an hour late, which we had to pay for. Unprofessional and sketchy tactics to make more money. I'm spending my 30 minute break to make sure that nobody else will even touch this company. Stay away. read more

These guys were great! After pricing a bunch of other movers from Yelp, and getting quotes in the $1500 range for moving a 2 bedroom condo...I checked a few places on Craig's List. These guys quoted us at less than 1/2 that...and the other yelp reviews looked good, so we decided to go with them. They arrived on time, were very professional and friendly, and were very respectful of our place and our property, which, obviously, is greatly appreciated. Although it did take some time, they were very careful to safely wrap everything up with padding, etc., to protect it. The move took, perhaps, an hour or two longer than I thought it might, but, since they were taking real care to protect everything and be gentle with it, that was more than fine with me. We did have one hitch -- which was that, somehow, one of the grill grates to our electric Weber grill got lost during the move. I was a bit agitated, since we were really looking forward to a grilled T-Bone to celebrate our new place. However, the company was very responsive to our loss, asked us for the model so they could replace it for us, kept us informed that they were getting it for us, and, within less than a week, had the replacement grate and personally brought it to us to make sure it was the right one! So, five stars for the move... lost a star for losing my grill grate...then, more than redeemed themselves and earned TWO MORE stars for the awesome customer service and responsiveness in replacing the lost grate. So, SIX BIG STARS for ARS movers!! Will be sending our friends your way... thanks for all your help!! read more

I had a great experience with ARS. They ran a little behind their scheduled arrival, but frankly I needed the extra time. They were organized, efficient and kept to themselves without being standoffish. They took control of the process and had the whole thing down to a science. When something needed to be wrapped or boxed, they wrapped or boxed it in a jiffy and without additional charge. If something needed disassembly they made it happen without pointless convo, which of course would add unnecessary time (and thus expense). They were not sticklers about container size/type and pretty much took any unit and transported it elegantly into the truck. And with quick, very polite smiles. At some point I was concerned about surcharges for extra things like tape and boxes, but despite being at least three hours longer I hoped/expected the cost of the move came in right near estimate (which was cheaper than any other quote from a company with solid reviews.) I'm not moving again. Ever. But if I do, I'll be moving with TG, Ryan, Vitalie, and Esko. read more

We hired ARS Movers for our move from Alexandria to NoMa. We contacted them about 2 weeks before our move and they were graciously able to fit us in during their second shift. (If you know anything about moving, especially at the end of the month, you know that contacting a company 2 weeks prior is definitely cutting it close.) We looked at many other moving companies but their prices were much much higher. When we got the quote from ARS Movers, I was a little wary because you know, "you get what you pay for," right? So I came to YELP where I found some great and also some not so great reviews. We decided that for the price, we would move forward with hiring them for our move. And this turned out to be a GREAT decision! 1. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 2pm and 3pm. We were contact at 11am by the company to let us know that they had finished their morning job early and could start at anytime! 2. They were very careful with all of our things. They wrapped all of our furniture with care and it all arrived without a scratch! 3. They moved quickly. The move took just short of 7 hours. We were moving from a 1500 sq. ft, 2 bedroom apartment to a 820 sq. ft apartment. The movers were very hard working! 4. The price is amazing! And it does not take away from the quality. The movers were very professional, efficient, and respectful of our things. Thank you for your hard work and making our move a little less stressful! We will definitely be recommending this company to our friends who are moving in the next few months. read more

These movers were responsive and fast. They took good care of my items with extra wrapping for security. They loaded and unloaded the truck efficiently and none of my items were damaged. I had a two day move, part to a smaller place and part to storage. The pricing was reasonable and the team was professional. I will be using them again. read more

Recently moved and used ARS Movers for our short relocation we moved from one 3-story townhouse to another 3-story townhouse, which also happened to be a new build with very vanilla walls. When I requested quotes via Yelp ARS was the 1st to reach out and gave me a quote based on my inventory list that I submitted. The quote was competitive as well as fair. On the day of the move they arrived 20 minutes early which I appreciated to do another inventory then the supervisor directed his crew to secure the heavy pieces of furniture and started to moved the boxes to the truck. The team was extremely efficient and I had no damage to either home or any piece of furniture during the move. The truck was vey clean and organized. The entire team worked really hard and did the entire move under 4 hours. Extremely pleased. Not planning on moving anytime soon but if we do, will definitely be using ARS movers again. read more

Definitely recommend this company. They have very fair pricing and very good service. I scheduled my move at 9am. Movers came 20 minutes late. But called at 8:50. (That is why I give 4 stars). Movers came, parked their truck, explained why are they late while signing the papers, and jumped right into work. All of them where professional and uniformed. Very polite, careful with my belongings and fast at the same time. Real hard-workers. I move pretty often. I can tell these movers do a great job!!! I already recommended American Relocation service for my cousin. He is totally happy with them! read more

ARS Movers - This is how they pack!!! - Movers Near Me

I wish I could give 3.5 stars... they were on time, extremely polite, and worked pretty quickly at first. They also showed great care with my items which I appreciate. Communication was really my only issue. One of the movers spoke minimal English so all comms were run through the Foreman, and they seemed to disregard when I said "pack the large items first; if there's not enough room I can move small boxes on my own later." Instead, they packed all my boxes first, then spent close to an hour removing boxes to fit my television and some other furniture, costing me at least $75. Overall they were pretty good, but I'd definitely ensure they're clear on your directions before getting started. read more

We hired ARS to move us from a large suburban home to a condo in DC earlier this month, and we couldn't have been more pleased with their services. From the start, TG was very responsive and flexible in helping us set up arrangements for the move. He was one of the first to respond to my request for a quote, and promptly followed through with a home visit to assess our needs. His calculation of time and vehicles needed was very accurate, and his skills in packing the trucks truly impressive. On the days of the move (one to load and one to unload), TG and his crew arrived right on time and worked quickly and tirelessly until the job was done. They were very careful with our belongings, and were courteous and accommodating throughout the move. We have been through a few major moves, and this is hands down the most efficient and cost-effective experience we have had. ARS was a great find; we recommend them with unreserved enthusiasm and definitely plan to work with them again in future moves. Thank you TG, Kai, Alish, and Kamil! read more

I just used ARS to move from a townhouse to a single family house, including a layover in a storage unit while the real estate process played out. I could not be more pleased with TG and his team. They were easy to schedule and communicate with in advance of the move, wrapped and moved all of our furniture with care and efficiency, fit as much into each truckload as humanly possible, and had a professional and kind demeanor (even when carrying really heavy items or boxes). TG suggested we rent their blankets on the front end of the move, let us keep them while waiting to close on our new house, and then there was no rental charge on the back end. Everything was affordable by Northern Virginia standards and they really do make an effort to complete the job in as little time as possible. We have and will continue to recommended ARS to local family and friends! read more

These guys were great! I used them for my move from Vienna to Alexandria. Finding a new place had already been stressful, so I'm glad the moving process went smoothly. I found them on yelp and was incredibly impressed to see they had 5 stars. They arrived slightly after the window of time, but called to let me know when they would be getting here. They carefully wrapped the TVs and the furniture to ensure everything stayed as it was. They even came prepared with tools which was fortunate because my kitchen table needed to be taken apart. They were friendly and very respectful. The owner (I think) talked to me, but not so much that it added time. I was worried about doing the move on my own, but they checked several times before leaving my new place to make sure that I was happy with where all of the furniture was placed. I would definitely recommend going with ARS for your next move! They are reasonably priced (with no hidden fees), friendly, and efficient read more

Worst decision to hire this company to move my things two blocks down the street in DC. Not only were they late, rude and unprofessional - they damaged my belongings. After I spoke with a manager and still having to pay full price for the move, I wrote an email with pictures attached of the damage that I experienced. The manager told me they were "insured" and with evidence they could investigate this and see what they could do. I have not heard anything back in two weeks; after 6 emails and 3 voice mails. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Here is my letter to explain what went down: To whom it may concern, Per the conversation I had with a manager of the two men that moved my belongings on Sunday, November 27; the pictures are attached of the damage that was done by your employees to my furniture. After hiring your services for my move, I am extremely upset with not only how I was spoken to but how my things were handled. After arriving 45 minutes late, I went to let the guys in. While in the elevator, the one gentleman asked me how much I had and if they could use the elevator for everything. I explained to him that they could use the elevator for everything but the two couches. I said that my dad moved me in here and that there is no way the couches could fit in the elevator and they had to use the stairs with only those two items. With attitude, I received a roll of the eyes and an "How many floors is that?". This is not exactly what I want to hear from someone I am paying a service for. The attitude did not stop there. I let them know what boxes/items were fragile and received on numerous occasions, "Let me do my job." Okay, that is fine but these are my belongings and I have the right to say what needs to be handled more delicately. After dealing with attitude for an hour, I decided to step outside. When I came back upstairs, the one gentleman had one of my couches turned on its side heading into the elevator and pushed it into the elevator with no blanket or anything under it to protect it. I walked over to the elevator and told him that he just scrapped the whole side of the couch on the floor of the metal elevator and that I had already asked them to take both couches down the stairs. Then I noticed the edge of the corner of the couch had been hit on the top of the elevator and was completely gone. He shut the elevator in my face after saying "Let me do my job." After this - I had enough. I called the company phone number numerous times and did not receive any answer. After the guys got my belongings into my apartment, and I examined both couches and realized how much damage both of them had - I called and spoke to a manager whom told me there was nothing he could do but to turn in the pictures because they were insured. Attached are the pictures of some of the damage. I can't tell you how disrespected I felt and how uncomfortable this move was for me. The blatant disrespect that these two guys had for my property was indescribable. I am now left with a bad taste in my mouth and two couches that were in perfect condition but is now pretty much ruined. Since you are insured, I would appreciate compensation for the damage that was done by your employees to my furniture. Please let me know if you have any questions. A speedy response would be appreciated. read more

I chose ARS for their reviews and I am so happy I did. They communicated thoroughly and well, and accommodated a date change with ease and grace. They called a day ahead to confirm in addition to several email confirmations. The quote was spot on! I moved a storage unit (that I sorted in part while they loaded the truck), did a drop off and pick up at a townhouse, and then moved all of that from NOVA to Baltimore, and having a quote meet the final bill for that is amazing! This was our first big move ever, so our first time using movers. We were very impressed! ARS arrived 3 minutes before the 3pm-5pm arrival window and they were incredibly efficient and professional.
