Came with a group of 5 with a reservation. Parking could be a hassle. It's only street parking and there is a lot you can pay to park next to the building it's in. It was kinda hard to find driving by at night. I didn't notice a sign or anything but I finally did make it there. Place is small and by the looks of it could get pretty busy, so I would say reservations are definitely recommended. Interior looks like it's 90% done. Not a place that's really aesthetically pleasing either if you're looking to come here to celebrate something. It looks more like a place you just want to go to casually with whomever. I wouldn't even say first date worthy. Food is also just okay. With all the other types of AYCE sushi places like this I think I rather stay closer to home. Their menu options are all pretty similar to any other sushi place although they did have a few unique rolls of their own. I did notice though that they do a lot of take out orders. So if you live in the area I'd say check them out.

So AYCE sushi spots are usually a hit or a miss. This one exceeded expectations. Food: we mainly came for the sushi and plate after plate it didn't disappoint. Got to try a bit of everything but the one with the seared salmon on top was a hit for all. We didn't try any appetizers or know if they were even included in the AYCE menu. Don't remember if it was on the menu. The one with the soft shell crab was barely noticeable but still good. Some rolls had more rice than others but I feel like it balanced out well. Service: sushi came out exceptionally fast. Like 5 min after we ordered. All other places we had to wait much longer to get the food out and they don't always bring out everything we ordered. Not the case here. Presentation was nice, sushi was fresh and delicious and it hit the craving. What I really liked was that it seemed like almost all of their special rolls were part of the AYCE menu. Ambiance: the place can accommodate a few large parties but not many. On the smaller side but nice area. Not too loud, good place for a date or simply to catch up with people. Parking: very small parking section to the right of the sushi place. Can fit at most 8 cars. Parking is allowed there in the evening. We came at 7 and there were two spots available.

This is a well priced AYCE sushi spot with a large selection of regular and specialty rolls! I walked in without a reservation with my friends and we beat the crowd so we were able to find parking. As soon as we sat down, the place filled up pretty quickly. We were very impressed with how attentive the staff was and how quick their service was. The rolls came out minutes after we ordered. Everything tasted pretty good -- no complaints here! I'd definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for some AYCE sushi!

How the mighty have fallen. When my wife and I lived in Hudson County, Arigato was one of our go-to dinner spots. I recall the portions being your standard sushi fare, but at an incredible price if you do the AYCE. Our last outing was tonight 5/21/22 and it will be absolutely our last. The rolls were literally just stuffed with rice, little to no fish in any of them. Not just the absurd way they are taking advantage of the consumer but they also removed several items from the appetizer menu, along with the ice cream scoops that used to finalize this once great establishment. It comes with a heavy heart to write this review, yet not as heavy as the amount of rice we had to ditch. It was good while it lasted Arigato.

Esther and the team took excellent care of me. They offered flexibility with their pricing, switching me over to the all you can eat option when I went over the bar for that in terms of what I had ordered. When they bussed and reset two tables in front of me, I couldn't tell who the manager was, which I view as a good thing and a sign of humility, competence, and care. There were lots of kiddos wandering around in an environment that was very family friendly and very safe. Thank you, Arigato.

Hands down THE BEST SUSHI THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. I am so happy we found this place. It was definitely a top shelf experience. Small cute place and clean - they make the sushi fast, and it is again top quality - both in presentation and taste. All good. Can't wait to come back.

Edgewater, NJ // Arigato has been old reliable. Food: Sushi cravings are always satisfied here. Special rolls favorites: buzzer beater, kamikaze, tebow time, NYGiants, geisha, playboy, volcanic erupt, Godzilla, princess, what the ???, what's up!! Service: Spectacular. Have dined in and out and employees have always gone above and beyond. eg when ordering out, employees will request for you to wait in your car. when ready, they will walk to your parked car (2 side parking lots or street parking) Ambience: it gets busy especially for dinner and weekends. Pro tip: it's AYCE sushi but I have never been able to eat more than 3 special rolls at a time. I recommend ordering out, buying 3 special rolls which is almost equivalent to the AYCE price and driving to a nearby park with a blanket on hand for a picnic

This review is based on the AYCE menu. Overall, if you want good quality sushi for an affordable price ($30/pp for AYCE) this is a good spot to check out. I'm giving 4 stars because the menu was small - there was no miso soup, the kitchen items were limited, there was no sashimi options (only nigiri), and there was no dessert options. When you compare this place against Sushi Village or Sushi House in Teaneck, the options just are not as much. However, from what we did order, the sushi was super fresh and came out pretty quickly (which is impressive because we ordered for 9 people). The employees were extremely friendly and attentive + atmosphere as nice.

This is a great option for AYCE sushi. The rolls were good and came out super quick. It was definitely busy on the weekend but the wait was fast.

Left: salmon avocado Middle: samurai roll Right: two orders salmon sashimi

TLDR Food tastes normal but sushi portions are small and inconsistent. I would not go out of my way to come back unless it was for a dinner box. The good: the dinner box for $24 is good value. We chose the beef negimaki and 9 pcs sashimi and it was served with miso soup, California roll, and shumai, all for $24. Good variety, would recommend this. The so-so: regular sushi rolls here (salmon avocado roll and salmon roll pictured below) are small with less fish than other comparable sushi places. The portion is acceptable but not great and inconsistent between different pieces of the same roll. The bad: sashimi portions. The price is $3 for two pieces of sashimi, which is not bad despite the smaller than average portions we initially received. However, the size is inconsistent and our last order of salmon sashimi came with two tiny pieces that looked as if one small piece of salmon sashimi were cut in half and served as two pieces. Those two small pieces of salmon were not worth $3. Definite ripoff. Also, their "special rolls" are extremely tiny for the price. The size of the roll was identical to a regular roll but double the price. I ordered the samurai roll and not only was the portion of yellowtail super super flat and tiny (see photo lol, this is laughable to be honest), the size of the roll was the same/smaller than my salmon avocado roll. When I go to other sushi restaurants and pay extra for a special roll, I receive rolls that are double the size as a regular roll. This small size may be acceptable for all-you-can-eat, but definitely not for a-la carte ordering. Finally, I think it's strange to not offer free tap water. Not a big deal, but this plus the tiny portions makes me feel as if I'm being nickeled and dimed.

My husband and I come here for the all you can eat sushi. I feel like that is the only way you can do this place. We have never gone there for hot food or a menu. It is our favorite place for sushi. In order to come, you do need a reservation and they will ask you. The sushi is absolutely delicious and fresh and the location is very clean. This is not a fancy restaurant. This is a place just for extremely good and fresh sushi.

    Isabel C.

I would recommend Arigato if you're looking for a lower-price ($30/pp as of 8/1/23) AYCE sushi restaurant in the area with a short wait time for food. On the plus side, the rolls came out only a couple minutes after ordering, which was a pleasant surprise for a packed AYCE restaurant during peak dinner time on a Tuesday night. Most of their special rolls were pretty good--I was a huge fan of the Kamikaze and Buzzer Beater rolls, definitely try if you're into spicy/crunchy! On the flip side, I do wish the menu offering for AYCE was larger. Compared to other places that are similarly priced, it was a bit of a let-down that they don't offer sashimi, kitchen dinner items, or dessert as part of the menu, and we didn't realize this until we were already sitting down. Little things to note: some of the rolls did also have much more rice than fish and we never got one of our orders despite reminding our server, BUT these could definitely just be symptoms of a very busy night. All in all though, if you're in the area, I say give it a try!!!

The restaurant is quite intimate with 2-3 chef's evenly distributed and ambiance is quite lively though not too loud. The staff are quite attentive and they have a nice drink menu with diverse sake options (junmai to junmai daiginjo) and give ample ginger that was solid. The chefs were nice and engaging with diners. The omakase leaned heavily on your typical fish enhanced by gourmet ingredients - if you're a fan then this is the place for you! The fish tasted fresh with highlights being the otoro, uni, sake, ikura, and kanpachi. Four of the courses had truffle, a few with caviar and then toro with caviar and gold leaf that really just made me roll my eyes. Personally these ingredients don't add much, if anything for me for sushi but do make for aesthetics, otherwise I prefer simplicity. Overall it's a satisfying meal and decent value for the price!

Of course the fish is great, just look at the pictures! Also, they make the best green tea panna cotta, nowhere is better.

The fish was all delicious and all had some kind of unique topping, and some were also torched. Each piece was truly one bite and I preferred this to the bigger nigiri that eats more messily. Typically at sushi places I stick to salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, so I had some reservations about whether I would like everything, but really everything was tasty. Some of my favorites were the appetizer yuzu yellowtail with microgreens, and then amberjack (who knew!). The wagyu had a truffle topping and it was a great piece but I am not sure it was necessary and next time would probably just opt for the standard classic set. The waitress was very friendly and the chefs checked in throughout the meal and seemed to care that we were enjoying the nigiri. A few times we were asked if we wanted add on ons (drinks, and then sushi add ons later). I would have preferred if the menu was just maybe left without explicit solicitations to order more. But other than that not sure anything could have been better. The restaurant is simple, understated, and minimalist. Though right on a busy street the outside is so narrow and understated that it would be easy to walk by every day and miss this place. Would highly recommend for an extremely good and reasonably priced omakase experience.
