Came here a few years ago and really liked Arigato because I thought it was such great quality for being AYCE sushi. Went back recently and was a little disappointed in the quality of the special rolls. It's still a decent value in terms of being able to get SO much food for what you pay, but the rolls just seemed a little rice-heavy to me. We also had salads to start, shrimp shumai, vegetable gyoza and chicken teriyaki. All of that was really good! And I will say, they have a great set up outdoors to accommodate Covid restrictions. It was awesome to find a sushi place with this kind of outdoor seating. Staff was nice and attentive. They mentioned a 90 minute limit for the table but they never rushed us out or anything once we got near that 90 minute mark. read more

The sushi buffet is great. So many regular and specialty rolls to choose from. Favorite roll of the evening was some sort of spicy tuna with crunch on top. I've been going to the North Haledon location for years- it's my go-to AYCE sushi spot for its quality. A couple of months back, my favorite server, Nikki, told me and a couple of friends about the Edgewater location. My friends were able to check it out and had a really positive report, so one night my fiance and I went with them to get it out ourselves. Well, Edgewater gets the five stars as well! Everything you love about the North Haledon location and more! The menu had a couple more rolls than NH, and we loved all the new ones we tried! The quality is definitely there. Unlike the NH location, they give you ice cream at the end, instead of fruit, which really isn't a big deal. We recently tried Arigato and each got the AYCE option. Such a disappointment, we both said afterwards that it definitely wasn't worth $28 a person. They put very little fish in any of the rolls to make sure you fill up on rice. And, they even write on their menu that they will charge you full price for the roll if you leave rice on the plate! The poor rice:fish ratio makes the sushi lack flavor and texture. Also, a tip: Definitely avoid all of the soft shell crab sushi options. It's basically just flakes of fried crab shell with very little crab meat. The apps were mostly OK. We actually enjoyed the salmon teriyaki and veggie gyoza. However do NOT order the deep fried tuna app- it is gross, dry, and fishy. Not sure how that is still on the menu. I'm leaving two stars as the servers were attentive and kind, and the outdoor setup under lights was nice. I hate leaving a bad review during Covid but I don't want others to be fooled by the 4 star rating like I was. read more

My friend kept talking about this place and we finally got to go. The place had a nice crowd for a Wednesday night. We were a party of six which was great because this way I got to try a lot of stuff that I usually wouldn't have. We started with green salad, shrimp shumai, beef negemaki, tempura, soft shell crab,spicy tuna ball and chicken teriyaki. I have to say everything was really good but my favorites were shrimp shumai, soft crab shell and spicy tuna ball. As far as rolls we ordered several and I'm not sure I remember all the names but here is what I remember: Philadelphia, Viagra, Bronx bomber, buzzer beater, kamikaze, crunchy spicy tuna, tebow time, Godzilla and geisha. I believe I tried all of them and the two that I kept going back for were the tebow time and crunchy spicy tuna. Those two were my favorite and were delicious. They also offer you ice cream at the end (red bean, green tea, vanilla and chocolate) I really liked the food here and you can't go wrong with $25 for all you can eat and BYOB. Did you say all you can eat sushi! Only for 25$ a person too! I mean does it get any better then that. What I love is that they do not waste either and make everything to order. You do not had to worry having your sushi out for hours unlike in some buffets. I have tried many different types of sushi and have never ordered anything I did not enjoy. Some of my favorite choices are the kamikaze, tuna ball, muscle, and the sushi option with the soft shell crab. I like the green tea too and is included within the price. Went to this place for all you can eat sushi. This place offers interesting, special sushi rolls that a lot of other places don't offer. One thing lacking is their variety of hot food. It would've been perfect if some noodle soup or hot soup was also available. In addition, the salmon was not the tastiest. Hopefully it was just an off day for that part. read more

4.5 stars for me it's an AYCE and BYOB sushi spot made to order. The service was outstanding the food came out fast and it was very delicious. The peppered tuna salad is a must have on the menu. And all the rolls I tasted were pretty good as well. It's a nice modern look. It's been open since Jan '16. There is no sashimi on the AYCE menu but u get your money's worth with the special rolls and appetizers. Some rolls were a lot more rice then filling but for the most part the sushi rolls were filled nicely. Its only open for a few hours a day so try to get there early Bc the place packed up when we were eating or food. And the parking lot is small try to find street parking. We made damn sure to take full advantage of eating whatever we wanted, the way the price point is, it only makes sense to do all you can eat. We probably tried every roll, it got to the point that I couldn't keep up with what I was eating but everything was delicious. Doesn't look like much from the outside but let me tell you.. this place is the only spot I eat my sushi now. I've been coming here for about 5 years now and after having experimented with other locations nothing comes close to the quality for the quantity. In most of my posts I always grade on quality and quantity and for $28 and some change? Trust me when I say you cannot go wrong here for an all you can eat. The variety here is amazing too! Over 50 select combinations, 30 or so signature rolls? (Don't quote me). I want to say I've even had majority of the menu at this point. 5 star service, 5 star quality. I used to frequent Yuki Hana which used to offer the same $25 ayce sushi deal, but they stopped offering that as of last year. So I was pretty bummed about that but glad I found Arigato. Now don't you dare removing the ayce offer, Arigato! Lol. I knew this was going to be a long wait so we made a reservation 2 hour prior and spend those 2 hour window shopping (yes without buying anything lol) at Target down the road. Parking is paid parking at the municipal lot but lucky us the payment machine broke down from all the rain and we got to park for free lol. The sushi are so fresh and the ayce was worthwhile. To get the most bangs out of your bucks, I recommend just ordering from the "fancy" list because they cost more ala carte. I am a repeat customer but after my HORRIBLE experience I will never recommend this place to anyone! I went on a Saturday evening with my cousin and towards the end of our dining we found a small fly on one of our sushi rolls. We poked at it and it was still alive. Definitely gave me the ick as we had already eaten majority of our plate. I called over our server and they took the plate back immediately and expected us to pay full price for bugs in my food! The manager tried to justify that we pay full price because the bug was still alive and not dead! I couldn't believe we were even arguing about this! The manager was an older woman who gave us a NASTY attitude and would NOT accommodate us with even a 20% discount. We weren't expecting a full comp but she did not want to discount anything for the inconvenience. Finally she said she would discount our drinks (2 waters and 2 sodas) but when we got our check there was NO DISCOUNT. Not only did she LIE but when we went up to dispute it she was even nastier and threw a $5 bill in our faces and said "take your money." We paid and left absolutely angry. While we were in the parking lot the manager lady proceeded to FOLLOW US to sign the receipt and she was putting her arms through my car window trying to snatch the receipt from our hands. Ok I absolutely love Arigato. It's been my go-to place for about a year and half now and no other sushi place compares! The sushi tastes so fresh and their prices are decent! I typically go with a platter that has 2 special rolls and 5 regular and it never disappoints. My favs are the Kamikaze, their spicy salmon, NY giants, and the Doctor Carla. The only thing I would change is 1: Their AYCE sushi price being raised because I'd argue it was already fair to begin with and 2: The amount of rice they use in their rolls for AYCE is way too much and they obviously do that to save money. The specialty rolls were good but you get full really quickly because there's so much rice. I'm a sashimi person when it comes to AYCE so it was pretty disappointing not to have any sashimi choices on the AYCE menu. Once a favorite of mine, I'm now quite disappointed in this restaurant. I've been to Arigato several times over the past few years. They used to have the All-you-can eat sushi menu for around $22; it has gradually increased and is now $30. This is understandable, but the issue is that items have been dropped from the menu. For example, the mussels are no longer included in the all-you-can eat menu, which was honestly my favorite food item at Arigato. They also removed dessert from the menu. This is the only all-you-can eat sushi restaurant that I am aware of that does not offer a simple ice cream or fruit as dessert, which is ridiculous. There is no tap water; a bottle of water is $2. They are also quite busy and the restaurant is not too large, which makes it hard to get a reservation on a busy night. The staff is quite friendly. However, there is a 90 minute limit on dining, which they enforce. There's also a fee for not finishing your food. The sushi is average at best, nothing too exciting here. One positive thing is that it is BYOB. With all this said, I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be visiting again. There are plenty of other options in the area. Granted it's COVID and outdoor seating is preferred but the food just wasn't up to par with the other places I've been to. The sushi was tiny. Also great that they have a little valet lot right next to the restaurant since street parking around River Road can be a quite tough. The food is pretty decent. You have the option to choose either AYCE or a la carte before you start. AYCE is $25/person. If you go a la carte, rolls range from $10~$14. Being a greedy bastard, I went with the AYCE. Ordered the soft shell crab as appetizer and the portion was quite small, like 1/4 of the crab. Tried 8~9 different types of rolls. Rolls are quote a bit skinnier as compared to other places, but that's actually good because it allows you to sample more different options. Did notice that some rolls were a bit skimpy on the fish though. I would be ok with paying a higher price per person if they'd just throw more fish in there. One of the best All you can eat sushi spots I have been to. First, let's talk about the aesthetic of the restaurant, it was homey, small but not crammed, and the aroma of the different fish hit your nostrils immediately walking in the door. The servers were so damn friendly, didn't have to wonder around coming in, even tho we did not have reservations we did not need to wait at all.
