Reviewing Korean places in NYC is tough. Koreatown in nyc is 1 block vs 150+ blocks in la so I always feel underwhelmed in nyc. Anytime was just ok. The food was fair. The corn cheese was good but my honey soy fried chicken was just average. I thought it wasn't super crunchy and the flavor just didn't wow me. My friend says her cold noodle was ok. She asked for them to substitute tofu instead of meat and they refused- huh? The portion sizes were tiny compared to what I get in La making me think this place is a little expensive. $11 for a bottle of Sapporo sealed this conclusion. Service was kinda slow and both my friend and I had difficulty communicating with staff.
Anytime kitchen is located on the 3rd floor of Korean town. Anytime kitchen is fairly quite around 6 pm and the waiter has to check if we have reservations but towards 7 the restaurant becomes fairly packed. But during the stay since they were not busy they were able to get us 2 tables as we order too much food for a small table of 1. Currently there is a menu of buy 2 entree and get one free and which we got the army soup and the beef slices. The army soup was okay but the beef slice was good.
This place was amazing! I went there and got the buy 2, get 1 free deal and this was the perfect amount of food for 2 people! I recommended reserving ahead of time because it's usually packed, but luckily we went during off peak hours and got a table. The chicken with teokkboki is a MUST, the chicken is so tender and the rice cakes are cooked perfectly! (wish there were more rice cakes). The corn cheese is just a basic dish you can't go wrong with and the pork belly was heaven! Perfect amount of sauce and the ratio of pork to the other veggies was great.
Each dish that came to the table we all proclaimed our "favorite". It just got better and better and by the time we left we agreed this was one of (or THE?!) favorite meal of the week. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant has a variety of seating options and is a fun little place.
We ordered a few appetizers dumplings, meatballs sashimi all excellent. The spicy pork dish e noodles was amazing. Chef Our server was awesome he made great suggestions, thanks Eric you rock! The music was fun upbeat and restaurant is beautifully decorated!
My favorite go to when I'm in NYC. It was difficult to find at first, it's on the third floor in a small opening but quite a gem. It is super lively at night with many small to large groups out for some light drinking and food. Their portions are great for the price and they were running a deal when I went : buy two entrees, get a third free. It was so good that I had to stop by for lunch as well. They have cup/bowl versions that are great for a quick pick me up. They accept card but bring cash as you can get a little bit of a discount on the bill. I would say, lunch time is not as lively but regardless, the food is delicious and the service provided is amazing.
Came here to have Thursday dinner with my daughter's bestie and boyfriend, and celebrating a few October bdays. The restaurant is up some skinny stairs to the 2nd floor. It was somewhat crowded for a Korean restaurant. No parking but easier to get by train. We reserved a tale for 8 in the back but being in the back, service was always missed by the staff. We had a selected amount of dishes but none that was outstanding to me. I did like their wings, their pork belly bbq and pork Kalbi but everything else was ok. We did the buy 2, get 1 free deal. We did buy how many bottles of soju grape. Also the lychee cocktail was good. I thought the prices were a little steep for the portion we received but this place is not really for the food but drinking, I think as most tables had more drinks the food so we did the same. Hehehe. We had a good time none the less. Can't seem to think we would come back though because the service was lacking at times. [100R,2025]
We came there for a quick dinner before a concert at MSG, and we Loved it!!! Their menu offered great varieties, and we got 7 items for 6 of us. Everything was Flavorful and Delicious! Glad the portion wasn't too big so we were able to finish them all. If we had more time, we would have ordered more! Here are what we got... - soup bulgogi: rice cakes were so cute and bulgogi was tender - grilled squid: can't miss this - shrimp/scallion pancake: not enough LOL - pork belly bbq: not greasy, just perfect - chicken teriyaki: so tender and flavorful with chives - grilled mayo mackerel: delish - japchae: how can we not have this! Not enough though LOL The waitress was friendly and helpful w/ suggestions, and she cooked the soup for us too. The place is cute, on the 3rd floor, and they even have karaoke upstairs! Too bad we had a concert to catch It's only 7 min walk from Penn Station and MSG. So glad our friend suggested this place based on raving reviews. We will definitely come back here if we're in Korean town again!
Going to Anytime kitchen almost feels like a ritual when we're looking for a place to sit, drink, and eat good snacks on a late night out. The service is great as usual. For this visit, we opted for the Street Set which came with tteokbokki, fishcakes, veggie dumplings, and some form of veggie tempura. The fish cake was extremely filling. The dumpling and tempura were filled with glass noodles. The tteokbokki was good but spicy. We paired this with cocktails. Our table got the lychee, blue aloe, and white peach flavor. There is a current deal going on where you can buy three soju/beer/cocktail, and get one free (make sure you check out their website for any deals as there is one for Halloween right now). The blue aloe tasted the best. The lychee was too sweet but was manageable after the ice watered it down. Definitely skip the peach.
I only came here for drinks one night but had a good time! The vibes in here are great with lots of neon lights, a cool Korean fishcake stall-inspired seating area, and lots of tables for big groups. Service is so sweet. They have so many drinks and food deals here, it's perfect for a big group or night out!
Overall: B // 4 stars Great Korean food that offers comfort style foods and many drinks at a competitive price. Their menu is expansive with lots of different categories of dishes, and its impressive that they can execute all of them seemingly well. (Fried Octopus: A) - Well conceived dish with tenderly crisp baby octopus tossed in an addictive wasabi herb dressing. Great item on their "B2G1 deal". (Anytime Su Yook: A) - Comforting and healthful dish that simmers tender beef, enoki, and garlic chives in a bone broth with a wasabi soy dip. (Brisket Ttbeokki: A) - A hotpot dish with lots to offer from rice cake to ramen to fish cake to beef to vegetables. Love that the broth has spice that complements and does not overpower the food. The best Korean bar food I've had in the states and I'm from LA where there is a large Korean community. Everything was done just right. Millennial Korean music sets the nostalgic mood and staff are great as well. Would strongly recommend.
Anytime Kitchen is a cute little spot in the heart of Ktown! I visited on a weekend and it wasn't hard to get a table. The atmosphere is nice, fun, and truly a vibe. Service was standard. The food was actually pretty good. We tried the two entrees for a free appetizer deal, though I wouldn't really call it a deal since the portions are small and the entrees are on the pricier side. The hot entrees come out over a little heated fire, which was pretty cool and keeps the food hot. The eel was delicious and flavorful. I also ordered the sweet and spicy chicken, which was tender and tasty but not spicy at all. My favorite part of the visit was their cocktails, which come served in cute little bags. I tried the lychee and thought it was worth the $19. It's definitely a fun option to check out when in Ktown.

I've passed by the entrance to Anytime Kitchen quite a few times on the way to the karaoke spot upstairs, and have always commented to friends how it smells good and that I wanted to try sometime... well last night was the golden opportunity for my partner and I! Stepping in fairly early on a Saturday and it was packed, so we knew we would be in for a treat. Sitting down and looking at the menu (which was online), we were pleased to see a buy 2, get 1 free deal. We picked those 3 items, and one additional (everything looked sooooo good) along with a bottle of rice wine which was delicious. While all the food was delicious, the fried pork kalbi was both out favorite dish. Vibe is chill and casual, service quick. Prices very reasonable. We already started gameplanning our order for the next time we come, which is VERY rare for us as we try to avoid repeating restaurants. Would absolutely recommend to others! read more

I've been to Anytime Kitchen a few times, and most recently, it was disappointing. I had fantastic experiences there in the past so I was sad to see it go downhill. Tonight, I ordered the truffle and bulgolgi jjajang ramyun but there was literally no beef on it. Just onion and the black bean sauce. I don't think the ramyun was cooked properly either since it was so soggy. They also definitely raised the prices a lot: the dish I ordered was appetizer sized and cost almost $20. Entrees are all over $30. The service was also soooo slow and it wasn't even crowded. I had to keep trying to flag down the server for water, and it took so unbearably long to get the check. And I was ready to pay immediately (literally had my card in my hand) but the server walked away and I had to try to flag him again which was really frustrating. The ambiance there was still nice so I guess I will give 2 stars for that. They had a funny image on the wall about the stages of drinking soju I forgot to take a photo of. read more
Stopped in for lunch trying to kill time and they were pretty good. I got half Bulgogi and half spicy pork. It came with rice, salad, and kimchi. Wish I knew there was seaweed in it but not a problem, still very yummy. Very cute inside as well. It took a minute to find the place though. read more

This restaurant is on the third floor of an inconspicuous stairway in the middle of Ktown so it is pretty easy to miss. We made a reservation on a Thursday night to be safe but it wasn't necessary. The place wasn't completely packed but there was a good amount of turnover and new customers coming in. The hostess was also able to move our party of 2 to a table of 4 because the table wasn't big enough to hold all the food we ordered. The BBQ pork belly came out first on a portable heater and was a great start to the meal. The creamy ramyun was our favorite dish of the night. The spicy chicken tteokbokki was a little bit too spicy for me but it was delicious none the less. The pork kalbi was okay, but definitely not a must try. All in all this was a great place to grab some dinner and chat over some food and drinks. The atmosphere was suitable for conversation without being too loud or rowdy. Okay, so go up the sketchy stairway under the sketchier awning... no seriously. It's worth it. Go through the sketchier doorway on the third floor and you're transported into a completely awesome space with neon and Jinro toads. The food is legit and a wild mashup of traditional Korean dishes and street food. I'm still not sure what the hell I ate but damn was it satisfying. read more

Came here after work and was seated right away, we had a party of 3. They currently have their summer specials (order 2, get 1 free) so that's what my friends and I did. We ordered: - Popcorn chicken: really good, tender, and flavorful. - Korean Army Stew: very nourishing and filling. Tasty and also had beans on the bottom. - Stirfry squid and pork belly: super flavorful as well but better with rice - Mango Aloe Makgeolli Slushy: Very refreshing especially with the hot weather and not a strong alcohol taste. Overall, super good dishes which such a good deal going on. Definitely worth checking out. Staff was attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. read more

I stopped by Anytime Kitchen for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Since it's primarily known as a karaoke bar, I didn't expect the food to be this good, especially during the day. The ambiance was calm and quiet, with mostly local workers grabbing lunch. We ordered the katsu with tofu stew, . The katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, paired with a creamy, tangy sauce that balanced it out nicely. It also came with a side of seaweed that added a great briny kick. But the real standout was the tofu stew. It had a deep, rich flavor that felt like it had been simmering for hours. Comforting, flavorful, and satisfying. I'll definitely be back, maybe next time for the full karaoke experience, but even just for lunch, this spot is worth a visit. read more

This place is so much fun and one of my favorites in ktown :) It's like a hidden gem, and serves some delicious and flavorful tapas. This place has soo many vegetarian options and something for everyone. I used to order the creamy udon but decided to switch it up and try the tteokbokki and the veggie japchae and it was next level amazing. The tteokbokki was SOO flavorful and cheesy and sweet. Great Korean comfort food! Made reservations on Resy and didn't really need to as restaurant wasn't packed when we went. The food was great! Honestly no complaints, as it's a no frills, great Korean food. They have buy two entrees get one item free so we got the bulgogi fries for free and it was amazing! We also got the beef soup as well as the spicy chicken rice cake. The chicken wasn't spicy, at least to me but the shishito peppers were! Some were spicy and some weren't. All in all I would def come back but just be aware it's a walk up so it might be hard for people who might need elevators. And it is very cozy going up the stairs. read more

First impressions of the place is that you go to eat and have a good time. The aesthetic of the venue is casual. You can come with a group of friends to enjoy good food and drinks. My friend and I came when it opened (would recommend getting a reservation) and had the Super Creamy Tteokbokki and Truffle Jajangmyeon. Both were reasonably priced and tasted as described. You can reserve via Resy or Yelp and they seem to have updated their menu. Try at least once for a taste of relaxing Korean food. read more

Made a reservation for a party of 7+2 kids at 6:30pm You can easily miss this place if you aren't paying close attention to the signs up to the third floor After a struggle of getting two strollers squished in a small elevator up to the third floor we were seated right away First thought was this place had a good vibe with K-pop music blasting and fun decor Food was incredible with everything full of flavor and having our mouth watering What we ordered: Pork Kalbi Bbq Cod Roe Cream Tteokbokki Stir Fried Squid & Thin Sliced Pork Belly Pork Belly Bbq Popcorn Chicken Cheese Corn Our favorite hands down the Pork Belly Bbq Overall great place for Korean food would definitely come back again. Service was attentive although the Cod Roe Cream Tteobokki was given to a different table and was forgotten, they made up for it by giving us a bottle of soju on the house. Anytime Kitchen, nestled in the middle of Koreatown, they offer a delightful Korean pub and street food dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance is both cozy and vibrant, making it an inviting spot for gatherings with friends or a casual meal or just chatting over drinks. Decided to go with the 2+1 combo, two mains and a free appetizer. We got the brisket doenjang jeongol, it was warm and hearty, perfect for the rainy cold weather. It is a little spicy, so beware of that. Street set came with a fish cake soup and fried platter with tteokbokkis, the sauce is sweet and spicy, good for dipping the fried assortments, and the rice cakes were chewy. The fish cake soup is kind of bland but it is meant to be served that way to balance out the heavy and spicy from the fried platter. As for the appetizer, we got the fried pork galbi, it was crispy and the amount of pieces were impressive. My partner got the Honeydew Matcha makgeolli, it was super refreshing and yummy. Only one complaint, the container that they used to put the makgeolli is very dirty near the top. If the bottle is difficult to clean thoroughly, maybe stick with typical containers instead. Maybe it was because we went on a Sunday around noon, but the vibe was dead and the service was mediocre. My corn cheese was soaked in butter and not in a good way. The jjangmyeon was not good, and for $20 the portion size was small. I didn't finish my meal and it was $40 down the drain honestly. I would try this place again tho, maybe dinner time and order something different read more

Came here for a late night meal with my friends and found the food to be delicious and filling. We ordered the 2+1 special - order two "main dishes" and you get 1 appetizer for free. Unfortunately I have to knock off three stars for the absolute abysmal service and attitude that we got from one of the service staff. I saw two of the window tables open up and asked him if we could switch there, but he asked me if I had a reservation and when I said I didn't, he rudely brushed me off. I then asked the server next to him and she said yeah it was fine to move to the window table. Later, we placed order for alcohol and had to WALK UP TO HIM multiple times to ask him where our alcohol was. People around us were getting their alcohol and even tables that had just arrived. Eventually (40 minutes later), he brought it out to us, but I think that was because the manager was there. So the moral of the story is if you get that dude as your server, don't accidentally piss him off somehow or he'll retaliate. read more

Amazing food! Vibrant dining room. We had the Pork Kalbi BBQ, delish! So tender, so tasty. W the side sauce and pickled cucumbers. The Kimchi Cream Ramyun was to die for. So many yummy tastes in that concoction. Creamy w the noodles and the Kimchi wasn't that spicy. Also had an order of Pork Gyozas. Fantastic. read more

Came here for the steak I saw on yelp. They no longer have steak. Service was ok. Front desk person was also the server. Typical KTown bar in midtown on an upper level. Granted, it was a Sunday night - not too many people. read more

Good affordable Korean spot where they sell Makgeolli slushies in a cute container for $30 ish! It serves about 5 glasses so not bad! Food wise I liked the jjajangmyeon and the katsu and we also got chicken wings! They also have stews and ttebokki and lots of other items! It is a trek to get to the restaurant since its upstairs but just keep an eye out for the sing when you're walking along the main 32 st! read more

How do I find it?
Great question! It's super hidden for some reason. There's another restaurant on the ground level with lots of glass windows. Walk towards that and you'll see stairs. Go up those till you see the restaurant. I couldn't find it at first either!
