Chicken was super average and slightly dry. Overall a middle of the road KFC experience and will most likely look elsewhere for the next time I'm craving it. Interior and vibe was really cool.
Not sure what happened to Turntable.. years ago I felt like this was one of the top go to place for Korean wings and somehow this time around left me with a "meh" experience. This may have set the tone for me to go elsewhere for wings in this area. Soy garlic wings -3/5 - missing that soy garlic flavor. Don't know if they're skimping on the sauce or what's going on but it was alright Spicy wings - 3/5 - my initial thought after the first bite was "i don't remember these being salty". It was also alright Service on point so nothing to complain about there and the jazz theme is still going strong for this location. Unfortunately, I can't say this is one of the best places for k wings anymore and I'm disappointed since I used to rave about this place. Definitely has gone down in quality. RIP Turntable
Funny enough, I found this spot by overhearing people at the Met talking about how good it is. And sooo glad I came to check it out! The size of the wings were pleasantly surprising and the flavors (hot & spicy, garlic/soy) were punchy without being overbearing. Service was quick and attentive. Although we were leaving around 10pm, it looked like it was starting to pick up and had fun punch bowls for larger groups. Glad we popped by for a late night snack!
Ambiance (5/5): The decoration from floor to ceiling is SICK. The bookshelves, music records, wooden panels/lighting is such a vibe! The noise volume is moderate. There's also another dining room to the back of the restaurant. Service (3/5): The hostess allowed our party to partially sit vs wait for everyone. We ordered drinks and food before the whole party arrived. The food takes forever to arrive including a corn on a cob that took 30 minutes from ordering. Understandably, fried chicken takes time to cook. Drinks are quick though. Elote Smokey Corn (2/5): Nothing special about this. Skip! Bulgogi Burger (5/5): Super flavorful and delicious sauce with a bun that held well. Fries were cooked with a crunch which I preferred. Fried Chicken (5/5): Wonderfully breaded and flavorful. The wings are large/juicy. $18 soju bottles which feels like a robbery.
Ordered: Medium Drums & Wings Combo (~$28): half soy garlic & half hot spicy; with pickled daikon radish Kimchi Fried Rice w Chicken (~$21): sunnyside egg, stir-fried rice, assorted vegetables & kimchi, and chicken Sapparo on Draft Pint (~$6 HH price) Aya's take: Korean fried chicken is truly one of the best styles of fried chicken out there and we decided to try it at Turntable Chicken Jazz. It's pretty cool that this Turntable location is fully decorated with records, record players, posters, etc. and of course, with jazz playing in the background. We ordered the Medium Drums & Wings Combo which took about 30 minutes to prepare. In the meantime, we enjoyed the Kimchi Fried Rice w Chicken which was pretty solid. It was cooked well, good balance of savory & spicy flavors from the kimchi and the sunnyside egg added more umami and creaminess. I still felt it was a bit dry and could've used like spicy mayo but that's just me. The Medium Drums & Wings Combo was perfect for sharing among 2 people. Both flavors were delicious but the hot spicy just had more depth than the soy garlic. The pieces are large and the crunch is insanely addictive. And no better way to wash it all down than with a Sapparo on draft! Great try!
Service and drinks here are always amazing! Food can be a hit but it's not really a miss, just your staple bar food with a korean twist. Vibes here are great, too. Perfect for first (or tenth) date!
I love this place! I've been twice now and I can confidently say this spot will be in my restaurant rotation moving forward. The highlight is definitely the ambiance, the food coming in at a close second. It's really nice to be immersed in this place by the sounds of Jazz and the impeccable record collection on the walls. So much rich history and culture brings a warm feeling inside. So far I've tried the Korean Fried Chicken which is super crispy, flavorful and filling. The chicken fried rice is perfectly starchy and rich. It will fill you up quickly! I'm blanking on the name but the spiral potatoes are also yummy & my go to beer is the German grapefruit Schöfferhofer which is nice to enjoy on tap. Great place to come with a small or big group as they're very accommodating and wait times to sit aren't long. You should be prepared to wait 20 mins for your chicken though! Super worth it.
Last week I went to turntable chicken jazz with some of my colleagues for an after work, happy hour. The interior design of this place is phenomenal and really gives off a warm cozy vibe. The service was really good, we were brought to our table that we were reserved fairly quickly and we were able to get someone's attention without having to wait too long. I will say the chicken is good, but it wasn't anything out of this world. I would still recommend this place to anyone looking for good chicken and a great ambience.
Tasty food plus good vibes! I came here with a friend on a Friday evening while I was in town for a few days. We had made a reservation for 6:30pm but it didn't look overly busy when we arrived, though the place was definitely lively (and maybe a little too loud at times since we had to raise our voices to hear one another). We both ordered the soy garlic chicken (I got wings while my friend got boneless) and shared the corn cheese appetizer. Food came out pretty quickly and everything was solid. Corn cheese was tasty as a classic appetizer, and I liked that the crunch of the chicken held up nicely with the sauce and it never felt soggy throughout our meal.
Very cool place. Great music and vibe which gets 5 stars for me. I think they have a DJ there some days. Metal chairs at the bar weren't that comfortable. Food was very good. We were told the chicken wings would take 30 mins which seemed like a long time, however that wasn't our experience and I was happy it didn't take that long. We wanted drinks but seeing their prices, we knew we could go somewhere else not far away for a better deal. I'm sure they were good since we saw lots of drinks leaving the bar. Enjoyed the lemonade mocktail and would have that again. If we come back, I'd opt to sit in their dining area in the back. The stools at the highboy tables in the front did not seem comfortable or supportive either. Service from the bartender was cool. All and all, it was the music and decor that stole the show.

The food itself was really good! I think it's a bit pricey though. The hush puppies are good but not worth the price imo. The Korean fried chicken was AMAZING tho. So crispy and sweet. I tried the pickleback shot and it was soooo good. If u rlly like pickles and pickle juice you should try it!

While the atmosphere remains cozy and inviting, with its dim lighting and LP-inspired decor, we were slightly disappointed to find that they no longer offer the lychee soju for two option, which was a highlight for us. However, our regular favorites still hit the spot - the lychee martini, potato twister, and small chicken drumstick were all delicious. The vibes are still on point, transporting us from the bright NYC streets to a warm, intimate space. Overall, we'd still highly recommend Turntable Chicken Jazz for its food, drinks, and ambiance. Hopefully, they'll bring back the lychee soju for two option soon, if not, we just have to return with friends.
I came here with my friends and this was such a satisfying casual dinner that hit the spot for me! We were craving Korean food, so we decided to check out this spot. It didn't take long before we were seated. We ordered the Soy Garlic Combo fried chicken, Corn Cheese, Twister, and Kimchi Fried Rice. The Soy Garlic chicken wings were super flavorful and very crispy. We were talking about how the drumsticks were huge! I'm used to Korean fried chicken being small finger food. The corn cheese was cheesy, warm, and comforting. It gave balance to the chicken since it's more milk in flavor. The twister was a potato on a stick like the ones you see at amusement parks. It was crispy and nicely seasoned. The kimchi fried rice was also really good. For the four of us, the portions were a great size for sharing and we left satisfied. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a laid-back casual vibe with a moderate noise level which was good for casual conversations. No TVs & loud classic jazz - rave reviews for that alone. Amazing interior. 50,000 vintage jazz records. This place speaks to my heart. All the other spots on the block were showing soccer only. They let me sit at the bar & watch Naomi Osaka at Wimbledon. Very friendly staff & courteous service. This is really Korean drinking / bar snack food. IDC. Jazz trumpet is my life. Turntable is total vibes, very cozy, romantic, and hip spot. The combo half sweet and spicy hit the spot and was gone within minutes. The sweet balanced out the spicy, and the spicy stole the show. The service was quick and upfront letting us know that the chicken would take a while to prepare, but it was worth the wait. read more
Sometimes I get my craving for what I tell people is KFC.. Lol They say "I thought you don't each fast food?" And I say I don't. It's Korean fried chicken. And I have to say that turntable chicken is definitely my favorite spot to go to when it comes to Korean fried chicken. So I took a friend there and we shared some boneless chicken strips with soy and garlic sauce along with a side of white rice. And I have to say, as usual, it did not disappoint. The chicken is nice and soft, and the flavor is incredibly delicious. Out of this world. The service was great. Later was very attentive and accommodating. As far as the ambience, it's a big part of the experience as they have shelves of vintage jazz records, lining the walls, along with vintage phonographs and Real reels. Old radios and such. It definitely brings a nostalgia to the venue, especially for music and jazz lovers which I am a big fan of both. So if you are looking for some great food or Korean fried chicken and Love, jazz, music and vintage audio equipment you can get it all together at one place right here at turntable chicken! Came in for a quick drink before our MSG show and we were blown away! The space in itself is decorated with loads of old records, books, and jazz pictures. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and a mix ordering spicy and soy garlic wings and everything was made to perfection, even their french fries.Our server was extremely personable and attentive. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area! read more
My friend and I came here on a Friday night. I arrived at 5:45pm and she didn't arrived until 6pm. The host led me to our table even though it was just me. When we left at 7:30pm, the restaurant was crowded. I recommend the Korean fried chicken combo. The fries were too well done. My friend enjoyed the drink she ordered. Turntable Chicken Jazz was a hidden gem I stumbled upon, and I'm so glad I did. Loved the cool, chill vibe with records, vintage equipment, and smooth music setting the mood. The bar is gorgeous, and the food was all delicious--can't go wrong with any of the chicken dishes. But seriously, get the dumplings... mouthwatering. Also I. The pictures hush puppies and fries of course. For drinks I had three lychee martinis because they were just that good! Our sever was great and would love to come back. read more
We stopped by for their lunch specials. There wasn't much of a lunch crowd here as their lunch specials are dine in only. The lighting inside their main dining area was a bit dim but I liked that there were coat hooks near each table. The theming of the restaurant was really nice, it felt on par with themed restaurants I've visited at Universal/Disney. I got the bulgogi and my brother tried the boneless fried chicken breast with soy garlic sauce. Both came with salad and rice. The portions were very generous and we both left fulling full! The chicken wasn't as crunchy as I had hoped but the flavor was good and it was really tender and juicy. The beef was nicely seasoned and tasted like your typical bulgogi. Overall it's a pretty good deal if you're looking for lunch in the Midtown area. The plastic cups could use a bit more TLC as quite a few of them were chipped (which I guess you can't really tell with the dim lighting). read more

Fun spot to hang with large groups - good for bigger parties / celebrations as a dinner before karaoke or going out in K-town. As you may guess from their name, chicken is their specialty, but even so it's only just decent and all the other food was a bit of a miss. My friend described the cheesy corn as "soapy" and the kimchi pancake as "stretchy", which we all felt were pretty accurate labels for both. For chicken, we got a combo with soy garlic and spicy, and the flavors were pretty similar. My spice tolerance is pretty low and even I felt the spicy was quite mild. Drinks however were pretty decent! We got peach bombs and lots of "soju cocktails" which were very similar to regular flavored soju. Do keep in mind that all the drinks feel very very weak, but they have a fun variety of options that are all quite tasty. We also saw others order this vessel with lots of smoke as we were leaving which looked like such a fun drink! In terms of service, they were good at keeping to our reservation and booking us a nice spot (vs. squishing people in as some people do); however, they aren't the most attentive (not enough sets / cups), slow service generally, which is fine for a larger group, but not as nice if you're expecting regular service. read more
Love the ambiance and decor, but the food wasn't thaaat memorable. Got the hand cut fries with spicy mayo dipping sauce. Fries were surprisingly crispy and paired wonderfully with the sauce. Kimchi pancake was okay- wish it was a bit more crispy (maybe it's a personal preference thing). Friends shared the fried calamari. They said it was good, but I didn't personally try. As for the chicken, we got half soy half spicy wings and boneless breasts. Boneless breasts were a bit dry- would probably just get the wings if we ever come back. The spicy flavor was underwhelming... no kick to it. Would probably come back for the atmosphere. definitely makes for a fun time with friends ! just wouldn't come with the highest expectations for the food lol read more
Made a reservation for 4 and came on a Friday night. It was so loud and we could barely hear each other but the main star was the chicken. The spicy was pretty spicy but the soy sauce one was good/better. I thought it was a good thin layer of batter and the flavor was good. The rest of the food was super mediocre - potato twist, corn cheese and sesame ginger dressing salad. The kimchi fried rice we all agreed was not great. read more
Been here twice now so wanted to send a review. Pretty okay place, the chicken wasn't the most memorable but always have a good time going. Chicken is fine but isn't anything to write home about but very consistently good. Place has a good amount of seating and service was good. Tried a few sides as well, fries, twisters, corn cheese. All pretty solid, the potato twister/tornados are cool but are pretty hard to eat. Get it for fun once and just stick to fries after the first time's charm. read more
My first time here, will definitely visit again. Customer service and wait staff were very friendly. Unfortunately not very knowledgeable on the menu, as I asked my normal questions when I dine anywhere, they lacked the answers to basic questions. Lived the ambiance and Jazz decore, the extra touch is the Jazz music playing as you eat. Food overall solid. Hush puppies (7.3 out of 10) Very well fried and nicely battered, sweet tasting could use a pinch of finishing salt. The dipping sauce I was not a fan of. Seafood Fried Rice (8.8 out of 10) Well rounded and fresh fried rice. Large shrimp, small shrimp, mussels, claims, egg, carrots and scallions. Kimchi (0 out of 10) Did not taste like authentic Kimich. Not sure if it was mostly Napa Cabbage like most kimchi tasted red bell peppers. No spice, a bit of acidity but definitely a MISS. Chicken (8 out of 10) Had both the soy flavor and Hot. Hot gives a nice kick not too overwhelming, Soy your traditional stick soy garlic sauce. Although the sauces were nice, the chicken it self lacked seasoning, definitely could you SALT, PEPPER, GARLIC on chicken. The last time I came here was pre covid. I love their Korean fried chicken and the jazzy relaxed vibe with dim lighting. I wasn't planning to come back here but I was looking for a local spot with fried calamari and this happened to come up on grubhub. They make their calamari with powdered cheese on top and spicy mayo (I asked for mine in the side) and red (marinara?) sauce. I thought the portion size was great for the price. I had the calamari along with a side of white rice as my dinner. The calamari has a nice crispy how I like. However, the food was sorely lacking in salt. Even the red dipping sauce tasted like it had no salt in it. Once I added salt, this brought the dish to life and it tasted good. I was surprise that the food was low in salt since their chicken is pretty good. I would still probably come back here but might think twice about the calamari again since it's not the main draw here. read more

My fav Korean fried chicken wings!!! They have three locations all close by. Wings take 30 min no negotiations. Order some appies: corn, kimchi rice. Get honey bbq and spicey (it isn't crazy spicy so live a little). Bathrooms are tiny. Decor is fun and retro. read more
My friend's sister threw a surprise farewell dinner on a Saturday night. The place has a cool vibe. Service was accurate. Place got loud after 7 pm. Food: I got the Corn Cheese Appetizer that was good and cheesy. I took the leftovers home for lunch. I got the half and half combo and a side order of truffle Parmesan fries. The fried chicken wings were the perfect portion. My friends ordered the fried calamari, twisted potato, and plain french fries. This is a great spot for a get-together with friends, plus almost the majority of the dishes were under $20. read more

This was my second time here. The decor and atmosphere makes it one of the coolest places in the city! I love all the records and the displays. The drink menu is super interesting, and happy hour options are great. The food menu is very unique and delicious. I've tried a few different things, and haven't gone wrong. And of course it all comes together nicely with great service. Will be back for sure! read more

Reservation is seamless for me. I did it via their website since we are a group of 10+ individuals. I got an email and text confirmation the same day. Quick replies, same day, for questions and adjustments.
Do they take reservations for just two people? Or do we need to walk-in? How long is the wait for walk-ins?
You can just walk in. It gets very busy Friday and Saturday nights, so go early or be prepared to wait.
