Wooga lunch menu is back and it's amazing. On my latest trips here I've had the spicy pork bibimbap and fish katsu. The katsu is out of the world and I hope it stays on the menu. Wooga is very convenient especially if you're heading to or from MSG. It is literally right across the street so it's an easy pick if you're looking for a casual spot for drinks and korean bar food. The space has a fun vibe with tons of tv's throughout. Showing a variety of sports games. One thing to note is that they play Korean music so you won't hear the game audio. Unless you sit right by the bar. Something to keep in mind depending on what kind of viewing experience you're looking for. I went after the game at MSG and it was a great place to wind down. For the table we got the pepper fried chicken which was crispy, well seasoned chicken thigh pieces with peppers. For my main, I ordered the beef tartare bibimbap, which came with rice and a selection of small dishes. Portion size was great. We also added the parmesean French fries for a small bite which came with two different dipping sauces. To finish it off, we got dessert. Which was the cheesecake topped with strawberry drizzle and cornflakes, plus two scoops of raspberry ice cream and one scoop of chocolate ice cream. Everything about the meal was great. This place is very much a dive. I would have never gone here on my own from walking by. It was recommended to me and I think the food was a win. This space is much bigger than I had anticipated based on pictures and reviews. There's ample seating and it's well staffed. I didn't try any entrees - as I mostly went for the appetizers and drinks. A small group of us came on a Thursday evening for happy hour and it was pretty packed. We had to wait for seating at the bar to open up. I wished I known to make reservations ahead of time for a table. They have a happy hour deal on drinks. The calamari was good and easy to share. Been to this place multiple times and always sat in the very roomy bar area in the front. They also have a big dining area in the back. They use to have happy hour until 9pm but now it's only until 7pm. However, their drink prices (and food prices) are not high at all for the area and the cocktails are very strong and tasty. For $23 (excluding tax and tips), you get to choose from a buffet of Korean barbecue meats, rice, pasta, sushi, kimbap, soups and fruits. You get an hour which I think is enough for that price to be honest and you'll likely fill up quite quickly if you get a lot of the meats. I thought the selection was pretty great and tasted just as great! I'd say the only thing I wish was on there would have been pork belly but the pig trotters were also very nice. Maybe they have them for the dinner menu. Other than that, for just $23 a person, it was definitely worth what was available. Proximity to Penn Station/MSG is so clutch! Looks very cool inside with the bar upstairs and the dining area downstairs. Lots of room and can be a loud atmosphere but it's not deafening and was able to hold a conversation easily with my table. The menu has a variety of options, and the picture menu was super helpful to be able to reference. Happy hour lasts until 7pm, which is great for those of us who don't get out of work until 6pm. I wanna start by saying this is a beautiful restaurant/ bar. Very well put together but I must say the experience I had was below disappointment. My classmates and I decided to stop in around noon to grab a drink in honor of us finishing our training. The guy behind the bar was of Asian decent and was noticeably irritated and acted like he didnt wanna to serve us. He made our drinks fast however it was with no love at all. He was rude didnt answer our questions he acted like our orders were bothering him. His energy was very strong when it came to being annoyed by us. I've made this observation because another adult walked in and he was nice and smiling to them as we didnt recieve not one smile from him. I've never witnessed a bartender leave the bar. He left the bar immediately after making our drinks then charged my card a tip that he did not deserve ! I specifically told him I was not tipping and he charged my card anyway. Came in for the special which was the $10 for all you can eat wings til the last day of February. First we waited on line for a good hour til the doors opened. They came around and started asking what kind of wings do we want to start with and was informed that there will only be 3 rounds of wings, so not so much unlimited, even though it was plenty. 6 wings comes per serving. Since it's a lounge, it's not very crowded during the lunchtime hours, but that doesn't mean you won't get a nice piping hot fresh meal. The staff was very nice and answered all our questions. This place is no longer a lunch buffet, though they offer a decent size lunch menu with the choice of chicken wings for five for five dollars as a happy hour special. I ended up getting the pork broth soup, which was with pork slices And a mild soup base. The banchan was plentiful and fresh. The galbi was sweet and tender.The kimchi was not very pungent and not strongly fermented so it was forgettable and could easily be a skip for me. I was so intrigued by the setup of this restaurant. Walking in, you'll see an area that looks like a typical bar on a Friday night. (Even on a Monday evening, the bar area looked almost fully seated, but that might have been because of the grand opening promotion.) The back has a section that looks like the perfect date night spot. The Sweet and Spicy Boneless Thigh is perfectly crispy, and the sweet and spicy flavors were perfectly balanced. This might just be one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places in NYC, no lie. The Wooga Dukbokki's fried dumplings were perfectly crispy. As someone who has honestly not had kim-mari before (due to my long seaweed-hating phase), the kim-mari was also really good and crispy. It all had a perfect hint of spice. Usually, I eat tteokbokki just for the rice cake and not the toppings, but if I come back and order it again, it would for sure be the other way around. Nice and crispy and the sauce was definitely on point. It took me like 5 min to finish all ten of them. They were really good. I've actually been back to this spot about three times after.
