I have eaten at this wonderful establishment in the past and had a great experience - yummy food, a cozy atmosphere, and great service. This past Thanksgiving, I ordered three desserts and a quiche (for my non-turkey eaters) with just a few days to spare. The pickup process was a breeze, and WOW - the desserts were to die for! All of my guests were raving about the NY cheesecake, the apple crumble pie, and my favorite - the chocolate espresso layer cake. Everyone at my table came back for seconds, even after our huge turkey dinner. The quiche was light and airy, mimicking those you'd find in Paris. I purposely hid a piece of the chocolate cake in the back of my fridge where no one could find it for a late-night snack. I 100% recommend Anthony's for dine-in and take-out. Clean and warm place. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. My husband and I came in for breakfast.i had the waffles with strawberries and banana, it was fresh and delicious. This place is great if you like HUGE portions. Personally, it's way too much very rich food. Also, the restaurant layout could use work. Tables are crammed together with little breathing space. The noise level takes away from the dining experience as well. Not my idea of a night out. read more

I was truly impressed with my experience at Anthony's last Sunday 10/18/2020. The tables were appropriately socially distanced and they had heaters! I can't tell you how important that it, when the weather is crisp in the air but you want to safely enjoy some time out during these times. Everything that we ordered was packed with flavor and was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was attentive and safe. Everything was clean and I felt very comfortable. I even took cheesecake to go! Excellent food, adventurous menu with lots of meat and non-meat options! And the desserts are out of this world... so many cheesecakes and more. You can special order quiches - spinach and goat cheese is delicious, there are many more options. For now, they are open Wednesday through Sunday for takeover but call them week to week. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and my son ordered a strawberry/banana Belgian waffle with cookie butter, which came with about four potato fries. My salad was good. The chicken tasted fresh and not frozen and the lettuce was fresh and crispy. According to my son his Belgian waffles with the cookie butter were to die for. The cons are that the portions could have been better, especially for the price. Even though the chicken was fresh it lacked seasoning. My son also got the chocolate chip cookie cake, which was ok. Yet they were very attentive. When I ordered coffee, the server made a fresh pot. Place seats, I think, 22 or 24 customers. Very clean and appealing; nicely furnished. Don't be dissuaded by the metered parking. There's a garage across the street and a parking lot on the corner. Per police officer - you can keep feeding the meter (25 cents/20 minutes) beyond the 2 hour limit posted. Will definitely return! read more

On the continued campaign of trying difference brunch spots in the area this popped up. This spot appears family run and seemed to be getting quite a bit traffic as we sat which to me is a good indicator of how good things are here. I got the chicken and waffles, amongst a few other enticing on the menu. Waffles were nice, comes with syrup and butter if you want. The chicken was great, CRISPY! Just how I like and full of flavor. Nice large pieces too. Didn't stop their though! Bacon, cheese and pears! Yes, for some reason pears were on it but it was good! Sweet and warm! Going great with what was already an awesome entree. It also comes with coleslaw which I'm not fond of, and am kind of bummed because I see in the photos that you can get other sides, had I known I would've chose something else, I actually didn't even know it would come with anything at all. The salmon sandwich I tried wasn't bad, but could've been a bit more mayo-ey. I also got a slice of the mousse cheese cake. Which I must say is quite good and also mother approved. I'm giving this place 3.5 stars. I met up with a college friend here for brunch. First, the layout and the decor is very nice. They have all the desserts on full display which get your mouth watering. There is no paper menu but instead two monitors displaying the menu. The staff were friendly as we placed our order. I got the almond butter & strawberry sandwich ($4.95). It was pretty good. The strawberries were fresh. I got the chocolate mousse pie to go ($4.95). It wasn't as great as I expected it to be. I was pretty disappointed. I tasted my friend's cheesecake when we were at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The slice was pretty decent. Next time I'll get a cheesecake or the actual cake instead. The pricing is reasonable, BUT I feel like my friend and I were overcharged. You pay at the end of the meal rather than right away when you placed your order. My total came out to be $12.70. With tax, I'm not sure how they end up with $12.70 total instead of $10.70 since I did not order a drink. They don't give receipt so it's hard for me to know how they came up with that total. I'll definitely go back but I'm going to pay attention to total bill and question it if it doesn't sound right. After my next visit, I'll update my review cause I really like this place but overcharging customers is not okay with me. read more

However, for foodies who are able to make it to the tiny Bloomfield Center restaurant, the rotating menu can keep you coming back every day for months. The food is always tasty, prepared well. There are some more common food items in addition to some more creative and daring ones. The style leans more towards Italian, but there are also a lot of American selections. The cheesecake is heavenly. None of the sourness that I personally don't like. In addition, they offer tons of different desserts. I wish I can afford to eat here three times a day every day. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and the menu is always changing, so you get some awesome specials! The food is made with extremely fresh ingredients and so full of flavor. The owner of the place is very kind and comes by to each table to announce the specials. One time we wanted a table outside and there wasn't one- and he kindly pulled a whole table outside along with chairs so we can eat and enjoy the weather. The desserts are also delicious. They are very artistic, and can sometimes create/present wonderful plates (specially for dinner). They make the most amazing and delicious cheesecake (I recommend the New York Style with cherries). Overall, this is a good place with good food. The only thing I suggest to them is that they need to improve the service. As 03/03/14 they have improved the service. The next time you are there, go for the chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe and mozzarella, simply amazing! As 05/1/15 these people are out of their minds (in a good way). I ordered the disco fries with pulled pork and my friend had the bbq pulled pork, hash with cornbread croutons. We also shared the Belgium waffles with cookie butter. Love Anthony's!! Finally gave this local gem a try and I've been missing out because it was awesome. Went for weekend brunch and a flatbread type sandwich with eggs, spinach and bacon in it...so good! My fiancé had a breakfast burrito with chorizo in it which he also loved. Went into this cafe based on a recommendation from a friend. I'm no longer friends with that individual. I'm just joking, but my experience was not as good as what I was expecting.. The service was confusing. There's no formal waiter. It's kind of whomever is available you just try to grab them, if you can. Also, there are no menus. There's a computer screen on the order counter that your party has to all go up to browse. I had to text one person in my party who had a bad back so they could read the menu on their phone.. As the place got busier it became cramped due to only 8 tables.. We ordered before the rush, but still waited an extraordinary amount of time for the food to arrive. When it did, it was subpar at best. I ordered the chicken cutlet, roasted peppers and mozzarella sandwich, and it didn't have any flavor or "yumminess".. I guess the place is known more for its desserts. The dessert, namely the chocolate mousse cake, was sinfully delicious (the only reason for the 1 star at least), but everything else was just average and made the establishment just like any other typical cafe making it worthy of just a one-time visit (one and done).. The other thing that made this a one-star place was, in addition to no menus, there are also no receipts.. You better pay attention to what things cost because I was also overcharged for my meal.. (One side bar: I ordered a second slice of chocolate mousse cake to go. For as tiny as this place is, they do such an amazing job. The food is unbelievable!! They offer lunch specials every day which cover all things you can crave: from empanadas, to meatloaf, to a KILLER mahi mahi burger, to a BLT... they almost have too many options! As if that isn't enough, their desserts are absolutely to die for. The chocolate mousse cheesecake (that may not be it's actual name) was amazing, and their muffins are so delicious. I think fairly recently they have started to offer a BYOB dinner service until 830 on Thursdays... I have not been able to go yet but I do look forward to eating in (as I usually pick up lunch).
