Margarita & special of the day
Bek M.

To start off I'd like to just say the lovely girls/ staff were very polite and attentive to serving customers needs. The food will slap you across the face, very very good pizza's too of the list for sure. Meatballs were amazing as well. The bbq wings were crack don't know why or how but..... crack. I mentioned im a Yelp elite member and I'd like to take pictures of pizza area and chefs which in response the manger said I can take pictures of my food when it come to the table. Like no shii***. I should give 4 stars of his smart remark but to each their own. lol experience and food made up for his smartass. If in Montclair and craving a pizza look no further then Brick&Dough!

It is always such a pleasure to come to this cute restaurant with amazingly friendly staff, fabulous food, and attentive and prompt service. We want for nothing and they treat you like you are the only ones there. ( and we notice they treat others with the same kindness) The staff couldn't have been any nicer and remembered us with a friendly greeting and chat. They have the BEST STRATELLELLA ever that we get each our own each time to enjoy with the garlic knots. Pizzas are always completely out of this world - and any kind we have tried is exceptional. The dough and that crust.... There are no words. Our guilty pleasure is dipping the pizza crust into the leftover stracciatella. This is both our favorite NJ pizza place and as my spouse put it as we left..." it never disappoints" We left happy, satisfied, and enjoyed our meal tremendously. Thank you again for a wonderful night.

I enjoyed my pizza here! I got the Detroit style pepperoni pizza and my boyfriend got the chicken vodka pizza and it was really good. My edges were a little burnt but other than that i enjoyed. When i opened the box to get one of my cheesy breads i was a little skeptical because they looked weird but it was good. I did take out so I can really say much about the parking. Very dim lights when you walk in so very calm ambience.

Pepperoni and the green pie underneath

So I had this place on my list only because of mural gate IFYKYK. I'm from out of town and I just so happen to be in the area and had this place saved. Garlic Knots - I wouldn't say best on the planet but they were delicious Pizza- pepporini pizza was so good. Undercarriage was perfect and the cup and char pepperoni was a nice touch. The green pie was really good as well. Not sure if we came at an off time (3pm) but the service was a bit spotty. The place was dead but our servers were sometime overly attentive or couldn't be found.

We were out to meet some friends the night we came here and this place had been on both couples' lists for a while. What better way to meet new people than to try out a new place together ? They had a special menu with "Neapolitan-ish" style pizzas. Gotta confess, I was a little reluctant to taste the bulgogi pizza, given it was obviously an Italian restaurant and all.. but truthfully ? It actually tasted quite good (sorry, forgot to take a picture) surprisingly enough, the bulgogi actually tasted like bulgogi and we were all very happy with it. Otherwise, everything else we ordered were amazing. The boneless buffalo wings were dressed nicely and crispy, the Brussels sprouts were equally crispy and delicious, and one can never go wrong with cheesy bread sticks! Marinara added to that is a must ! All in all, great choice for dinner. And family friendly, too !

Empty on a Saturday afternoon so we were seated immediately for lunch. They had a variety of seating, and luckily we were seated at a table near the garage doors so there was a lot of natural lighting. We ordered the mikes pizza, which had chili oil and scallions, as well as their margherita. The mikes pizza wasn't very spicy, just a touch. The margherita's sauce was fresh tasting and quite nice. The crust tasted good as well, but it was so soggy. Not the best pizza I've had but not the worst. I did like their use of compostable straws, made of pasta! Very cool.

Loved the atmosphere here. Dark with twinkle lights create a romantic mood. Restaurant can be family friendly. The pizzas are great. Highly recommend the margarita pie Buffalo boneless wings were tasty. We all enjoyed cheesey bread to start too. Prices are reasonable. Made reservations and took us on time.

My husband and I finally came here to dine in. Last time we had pizza here it was just a little take out window and wow had it transformed! I didn't expect it to be as large on the inside. The vibe was cozy and energetic with loud lively music. I loved the gluten free options. I pretty much created my own gluten free vegan style pizza and my husband had the pepperoni pizza. It was super delicious. Service was great. Overall a great experience!

Really nice spot, service was friendly and fast. Let's start with the brussel sprouts, so freaking good. They were cooked to perfection, super crispy , and then the miso maple glaze just adds a nice sweet to balance the bitter of the sprouts ( I wouldn't hate a little heat here as well). The pizza is brick oven neopolitan, which I usually am not the biggest fan of, of the dough is very light and cooked so it's not soggy. The pep is great , didn't even need to add honey to it , who doesn't love those little crispy cups of goodness , and they did not skimp on the roni. I wish the sesame and strat had some more cheese, but overall the sesame was a nice surprise, and it was nice to have a lighter flavor pie to compliment the heavy pepperoni overload (almost like a palat cleanser of that makes sense).

I cannot speak more highly of this place. It wins on all levels: food, service, and atmosphere. The pizza is probably the best I've ever had. My family and I are huge pizza snobs, always looking for the greatest pizza around town. We've tried so many places but nothing compares to Brick & Dough. The dough is so delicious- it is almost chewy yet still charred but doesn't scrape your mouth like other crusts that are more burnt (which I hate). The sauce, the sauce. OMG. What is in that sauce?? I tell them every time we go there (which is every Friday), to please bottle up your marinara and sell it. I mean it's the most amazing thing you'll ever taste. Period. We always get a plain pie and white pie, and always try out their seasonal pies which are insane! For starters the cheese bread sticks with that YUMMM-marinara sauce is so so good. The arancini is packed with flavor. So delish. Honestly I think everything we try there has been a hit. Now about the staff, where do I begin? These guys are all a group of highly trained professionals! Every single person my family and I have interacted with at Brick & Dough is super pleasant and kind. There is one individual in particular that I want to shout out here. His name is Mike, the manager at B&D. This guy is the definition of what a true leader should be in any company, restaurant, or organization. He is the kindest, most professional person we have ever met. The way he manages this restaurant and his staff, and then finding time to greet me and my family and share laughs...I cannot tell you how much joy it brings us (especially to our 2 year old daughter). Every week she cannot wait until Friday comes around because she knows it's Brick & Dough time. And as soon as we walk in the first thing she says is "where's Mike?"!! He is not your average manager....he is a rockstar leader. I hope Brick & Dough leadership reads this and recognizes this individual. And Mike if you are reading this, thank you. Thank you for all that you do. And see you again, next Friday ;-)

Brick + Dough has a great energy--lively atmosphere and attentive staff. The meatballs were full of flavor with lots of garlic and a hearty marinara. The arugula salad was simple and fresh, though nothing fancy. We really enjoyed the pizza--the flavor was spot on, though the crust was a bit softer than expected. Still, overall a fun spot worth checking out if you're in Montclair!

Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

We spotted Blue Steel which had good, modern curb appeal to our hungry tummies. It looks like downtown Bloomfield is having a moment with some new condos and nicer restaurants coming in. Thanks, gentrification!? Inside has a clubby, bar vibe and we were seated at a hightop near the bar. I love a good wedge salad. I prefer the classic but I appreciate BSP's variation that has tomato, cucumbers, crispy frizzled onions, feta cheese, homemade ranch dressing, and everything sprinkle seasoning. It was generously sized and refreshing. And there's nothing but good things to say about the Detroit-style ezzo pepperoni pie, except that i wish I had a bigger stomach to eat MORE. After the salad (shared), I was only able to manage one slice, but it was a happy slice. My first time trying Detroit-style and it didn't disappoint. PS: There's a tiny, very lumpy and bumpy parking lot in the back that is very tricky to maneuver back out of. If it hadn't been for an Uber driver who got briefly trapped back in there with me, I might still be there today

As the third-largest producer of tomatoes in the entire country, this key pizza-making ingredient not only sets New Jersey's classic 'tomato pies' apart from any ordinary pizza. This 10,000-square-foot, two-story establishment with a neon-lit sign on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield asks, "Just another pizzeria?" They also house a 20-seat speakeasy that's open Thursday through Saturday called the Rab.bit Hole that can be found upstairs behind a hidden entrance. Opened in 2020, Blue Steel Pizza Company is the answer and should become obvious after looking at the menu. A reservation was easily made via Resy. My partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a regular table in the 1st-floor dining room by the pizza oven in the middle. The vibe was modern and industrial. Patrons had to use their phone flashlights to read the menu as the lighting was pretty dim. They are known for their Detroit-style pizza--a pie baked in a rectangular, traditionally blue-steel pan, the kind once used by autoworkers. It's made with a blend of mozzarella cheese and traditional Wisconsin brick cheese that melts down the side of the pie, making for a burnt, gooey, cheesy crust. It's cold-fermented for three days and is closer to sourdough. It has real flavor and an airier texture. It's like a lighter version of a Sicilian with a buttery crust. As a starter, we decided on the Chopped Salad. For our main entrée, we opted for the Jersey Tomato Pizza Pie. Portions run big enough for sharing, and we downed them with the 1911 Cider. The pizza crust was light, airy, and crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients, making the ensemble tastefully delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and our server was Adam. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place.

Moments later, we were in the capable and charismatic hands of Maya, our server. She brought not just efficiency, but real joy to the table: quick wit, a warm and friendly vibe, and an infectious passion for the food that made every recommendation feel personal and sincere. Hospitality like hers elevates a meal from good to memorable. We began with the Caesar salad, and it was exactly what a Caesar should be: crisp, balanced, and perfectly executed, with that ideal punch of garlic, anchovy, and Parmesan. No missteps here this was textbook excellence. Next came the meatballs, and they were glorious enormous, tender orbs that instantly transported me back to Sunday dinners at my grandmother's table. Generous in size and soulful in flavor, they were everything you want in a classic Italian meatball. The accompanying tomato sauce was nothing short of velvety luxury: smooth, rich, deeply savory, and so delicious I found myself sneaking extra spoonfuls just to savor it. On a whim, I requested a side of the short rib ragu, and it proved to be one of the standout moments of the night. Braised to fall apart tenderness in what I can only describe as an osso buco style preparation, it mirrored the kind of slow cooked, soul warming short ribs I make at home only better. The depth of flavor was top notch, luxurious without being heavy. For the main event, I went with the chicken Parmesan, and let me tell you; it was the bomb-diggity of chicken parms. Massive in portion (honestly, almost comically large), it arrived golden and crisp on the outside, juicy within, blanketed in that same magnificent tomato sauce and a generous snowfall of melted cheese. Every bite was pure comfort and satisfaction. Congratulations to the kitchen this is how chicken Parm should be done. A lovely surprise came when the chef himself stopped by the table to say hello. That personal touch, combined with the restaurant's charming ambiance lush hanging vines draping overhead like a cozy Italian garden created a wonderfully inviting and relaxed vibe that made the whole experience feel special. I left with generous leftovers, already plotting to pair the short rib ragu with fresh pappardelle pasta at home. From the warm welcome to the passionate service and soul satisfying plates, this was a thoroughly wonderful evening. If you're craving authentic Italian American comfort food served with heart, this place delivers in spades. Highly recommended.
