Key Lime Pie (medium)
Josh W.

Got two premium sausage pastries and they were really good. Pleasant, mild flavor and the flakey pastry surrounding the sumausage was primo. 5/5 Main reason I went here was to snag a key lime pie because it's my GF's fave. Followed the directions for the medium size, which was to leave out of the fridge for an hour before eating. Unsure what went awry, but i left it out for 20 minutes and that seemed to make the pie disintegrate. Tasted OK but I think it could have been better had it remained a solid mass. 3.5/5

The chocolate chip scone was the right combination of soft and crispy. We bought a Portuguese egg custard tart that was so delicious, that it didn't even make it to the car! Yummmmm

I made the short trek to Montclair with a friend to taste these delicious-looking pies. The shop itself is really tiny; you might be able to fit about 12 people shoulder to shoulder standing inside between the pie case/cashier station and the handful of shelves displaying British pantry supplies, snacks ("crisps" aka potato chips), and sweets like Cadbury's, Jelly Babies etc. There's no tables, so don't plan on eating in here. Back home, I followed the instructions the saleswoman wrote on the box and baked the pie for 25 minutes at 350F. It was deliciously packed high with apples, not the usual 1 to 2-inch-high pie. The (HUGE) Cornish pasty is the best of both worlds: a flaky pastry-like crust with a delicious savory, creamy filling of ground beef, potatoes, and carrots (and I think a bit of a gravy). TPS is a bit pricy, but very good and a unique option in our local restaurant scene.

Returning customer. Good pie. But I personally may not ever return due to the service I received today. I hope that cashier / human at the front is okay.

Key Lime Pie

Dropped by this small bake shop on the way home after a hiking trip during this warm fall weekend. The place was busy with a line out the door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their own instructions on reheating pies by writing it on the box I ordered the small Key Lime pie. It was received frozen cold. It was one of the better Key Lime I ever tasted. It's best to eat when received but if not they recommend freezing it and eating it 10 min after. It was on the tart side but delicious bite after bite. Crust was a great thick crumble that balances the amount of topping. In addition, I also ordered the ABR pie, (apple, blackberry, and raspberry). The crust was good; buttery and not dry. The fruit filling was very tart. The apple was a little too sour for my taste. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will definitely go back again to try the savory meat pies items.

The key lime pie was absolutely fantastic! Would definitely recommend. The Apple pie also had nice crust which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sausage roll was a tad disappointing as it was an actual sausage wrapped in pastry as opposed to the usual ground meat. Nevertheless it was still nice. I would recommend to call ahead to reserve your pies. Once you arrive for pick up there is one person at any one time policy. Enjoy!

We had high expectations for your restaurant, given its reputation, and the many times we frequent your establishment. However, unfortunately, several issues arose that significantly impacted our evening. We arrived for our reservation and began at the bar with a drink before moving to our table. (2-glasses of bar wine) We sat at the table and then ordered a second glass of wine, which took approximately 15 minutes to arrive--despite the restaurant appearing relatively quiet after 7 PM with only a four-tables occupied. When we inquired at the bar, we were told there were no glasses available, which should have been addressed proactively. Additionally, when reviewing the menu, we did not see a ribeye listed on the menu. We asked the server if there was one available. Our server explained that a ribeye was available for $85. We proceeded to order it (along with a salad, as no other green vegetable options like spinach was available). However, the server later clarified that the $85 price referred to a different steak, and the ribeye we received was priced at $199. This was at the time we received the final bill. This misunderstanding was not clearly communicated upfront, leading to confusion and total disappointment! To make matters worse, when the steak arrived, it appeared totally undercooked (essentially raw in the center), and by the time we addressed it and attempted to proceed, our accompanying mashed potatoes had gone cold. The meat never tastes correct when recooked after bring sliced!!!!!Overall, we felt the service and communication was unacceptable, leaving us confused and terribly dissatisfied. As the owner and chef, is well respected I wrote to him only to find no reply at all. No manager was available on-site to assist us at the time. It is clear the restaurant is failing as there were three tables on Saturday night at 7:00 pm.

We ate here around 1:30PM on a Saturday and found the restaurant moderately busy which we figured was a good sign. Note that there are multiple entrances into the restaurant so you'll want to make sure you actually find the hostess desk so you can make sure you get seated properly. The venue itself is pretty expansive, featuring a dining foyer, then bar area with high tops and then another larger dining area towards the back. Our waiter was friendly and attentive though we found most of the food to be quite salty. We started off with their daily soup (a chicken tortilla-type one) as it was cold outside and found it extremely over-salted. For our mains we ordered a double-cheeseburger and the fish and chips which both came highly recommended on the menu. The burger was pretty solid and a hearty portion of food, though I was disappointed it didn't come with fries which have to be ordered separately (~$7-$9 upcharge depending on whether you get Parmesan or not). I think the meat is Pat La Frieda which is high quality and was pretty stuffed after eating it. The onion rings were also tasty (though again, quite salty) and were a generous portion which I was pleased considering they're $12. Finally, the fish & chips my partner ordered were solid though again, really salty. Overall, I'd recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice, simple place to get a burger and the basics. Their menu is pretty extensive featuring everything from chicken pot pies, quesadillas and fish but I'd recommend sticking to the classics. 2/5 for the food, 4/5 for the ambiance/service.

My partner, our friends, and I have been to this family-owned establishment numerous times and decided to have dinner last night. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering this casual vibe, we were greeted by the host. There is a lively sports bar side full of TVs and a dining room side, where we got a booth immediately by the window. Their menu has a wide array of options, rivaled only by the countless photographs and mementos that fill nearly every inch of wall space. There are many sandwiches, a half-dozen salads, thin-crust pizzas, and a substantial range of pastas. For starters, we decided on two dozen East Coast oysters on a half shell and Steamed Mussels with white wine butter broth. A side of Italian bread was brought for dipping. As a main meal, we opted for the Turkey Chili, Baby Back Ribs, Fried Calamari, Caesar salad, and Fries. The food was excellent and delicious, using the freshest ingredients. The portions were healthy. The staff went out of their way to make one feel welcome, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was Hadiyah. The price was reasonable. Parking is easy with their own lot but it's tight so they encourage you to pull up as far a possible to the bumpers. The snow left behind from the storm added to the tightness.
