A really cute and charming little shop. It's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, located at the end of a strip mall. But once you're there there is plenty of parking and popping in for a treat is easy. I left with a bag of 5 goodies - croissant, cinnamon roll, a to-die-for almond pastry, a fruit swirl bun, and a little cheese and fruit pastry. Everything was delicious and tasted great the next day after a minute in the oven. Very pleased with the experience and will return. Only word of advice is to avoid rush hour as the area can become a little congested and frustrating to navigate. read more

I found Magpie Bakery via a GF search on Yelp, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Loved meeting the owners and hearing their story of how and why they started their bakery. I sent them an inspo photo of a cake I saw online that I liked, and they completely nailed it! I was super impressed. The cake was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Fantastic bakery. I've yet to try something I don't like. My favorites are the donuts, bars (almond cherry), savory pies (Parmesan leek, heated up) and rhubarb pies. But really everything is great. The bakery is modern, clean, welcoming and the staff are super sweet. It's a family business so you can really see the care and thought that they put into everything. Recently moved into the area and discovered this great little coffee shop/bakery. Been there a few times now and have not been disappointed. The fresh made lattes and coffees are absolutely delicious as are their custom flavors. While not someone to eat a lot of sweets, I have treated myself to some of their pastries including their absolutely delicious cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip muffins and most recently an absolutely yummy personal pumpkin pie. Pumpkin Pie is a favorite during this time of year and their pie earned big points from me! Also tried one of their Shepard's Pies for dinner and that was really delicious as well. The place has nice atmosphere, if the weather is nice you can sit on provided tables outside, and the staff are all super helpful and friendly! If you're in this area I highly recommend a stop here for pastries, delicious coffee and some really yummy meat pies for lunch or dinner. Love this little place! read more

I have been to this bakery several times since they settled in Bloomingdale. I've had the sweet and the savory and everything has been great. There was a red velvet cupcake in the box but I ate that in about 20 seconds. The cupcakes, brownies, apple turnovers, bread pudding, savory pies. Everything is all great. But what really stands out is the service. I don't know the girls name but every time I go in she is smiling, talking to you, making people feel welcome. I have not gone back to businesses because of attitudes and bad service. If I don't feel welcome or comfortable it's a one and done for me. But she is great and the owner is very sweet too. I read reviews here on Yelp so I decided to check it out myself. First of all It's very well hidden in a tiny strip mall. I went in and noticed it was nice neat and clean but kind of scares for a bakery. I ordered a brownie, and was surprised that it cost $3.75. So I brought the brownie home and eat it. It was very good, nice and solid well worth the price. I would recommend people going there. It's very good. I will definitely tell my friends and family. I will definitely go back!! read more

Absolutely marvelous bakery--bright and welcoming and charming! The savory scones (maple sausage and spinach) were fluffy and the cinnamon rolls had a pillowy texture, and we enjoyed the small pot pies. The apple/blueberry pie = flaky crust perfection with a bit of crunch from the sugar, and we appreciated that the flavors were so good without being overly sweet. The regular brownie and some bread pudding (yes, I may have gone overboard, but no regrets!) topped off a perfect day. Magpie Bakery really has anything you could possibly be craving. I finally was able to stop at Magpie Bakery, and what an absolute gem it is. Sparkling clean, the staff is so helpful and kind, and it was so hard to choose what to bring home, each pastry was so perfect. I have not been able to find good carrot cake, and if you are a fan - RUN, do not walk, to Magpie to try the most outstanding carrot cake bar- perfectly moist, creamy decadent, and I couldn't wait - I ate it in my car in the parking lot!- and I shall be back for more. While the carrot cake bar didn't make it home, the treats for my husbands birthday- cupcakes and an chocolate cream pie- did. Once again, all were wonderful.
