It used to be the old Libby's hot dog place right by the Passaic River. There are lots of parking spaces and even a new bright lamp outside that illuminates the whole parking lot. The minute we stepped inside it just felt so cozy. The Cafe is Palestinian-owned and the owners/ servers were very nice. The couches inside reminded me of cafes in Turkey. We ordered the following items : - iced golden matcha - hot tea - kunefe The servers told us the kunefe will take about 10 minutes or so since it's fresh. We enjoyed it so much that we purchased another one. They were so nice that they treated us to the cheesy pita bread. There are board games like Jenga, dominoes, etc to play with while you are having your meal. Overall a hidden gem in Paterson.

I was doing my weekly food shopping tour of northern New Jersey and wanted a cool ethnic dessert…read more Found Kurly Kurtosh on Yelp and was excited to try an authentic dessert from where my grandmother's relatives were from. I showed up a bit too early on a Saturday after a nearby lunch, keep in mind they open at 2 p.m. on Saturdays. I was not about to miss out, so I read in my car for a half hour before being "that customer" that's waiting when the door opens. The two women working took my early arrival completely in stride and were impressively professional throughout my time there. They were engaging and once they heard I was a first time customer, gave me a rundown of the menu and their process. The shop is impeccably clean, modern, and features comfortable seating. I went with an original chimney cake and it was made fresh. I selected a drizzle of their store made dulce de leche and after a brief wait, it was ready. I really enjoyed the chimney cake, crispy exterior and a tender interior. Just sweet enough. I would certainly try it with their ice cream in the future but I'm glad I tried it on its own the first time. Excellent experience!

Kurly Kurtosh is an ENTIRE EXPERIENCE that everyone needs to treat themselves to! The minute you walk inside the doors you smell HEAVEN and find yourself in a spacious yet cozy and welcoming space. The employees immediately greeted us and since we were first time customers they gave us the detailed history of the Chimney Cake and explained what all of the options were for enjoying the cake itself. We were a party of 6 so there were a lot of decisions to be made but the employees were so patient with us and ensured that our orders were nothing short of perfect! We tried everything from the cinnamon chimney cake to the pumpkin spice chimney cake to the crystal sugar chimney cake ... which were paired with every single ice cream they offered and topped with everything from dulce de leche to Nutella drizzle and served with chocolate truffles on the side .... I mean it was literally HEAVEN!!!!! The hot chimney cakes paired with the cold ice cream is complete perfection! There's truly a combination to please everyone's palette. Oh and we were able to chat with the owner Nicole who was everything you want a business owner to be. Genuinely friendly, curious about our thoughts, open to feedback, grateful for the business and an overall wonderful human being! Kurly Kurtosh was truly all around a 5 star experience! And we WILL BE BACK! PS - we didn't take as many pictures as would've like to for the review but that was because we wanted to enjoy the chimney cake while it was nice and hot!
