When it was served the whip cream on top was obviously bad.. it had curdled all in the coffee. We asked to return it and have it taken off our bill and was told sorry, we cannot take liquor off one's bill.. yet they served us a drink with curdled milk in it. They remade the drinks without the whip. It took 3 hours to be seated (understandable, a holiday) but then took an hour in a half to receive food. The regular coffee was cold. I have been to places all over the US and this theory is tried and true. Anywho back to ABE. We were seated and it took a moment before the waitress came but it was no biggie as my cousin and I began the fellowship part of our monthly food and fellowship. My cousin order the traditional french toast and added strawberries, with eggs and chicken sausage. I ordered the pancake trio flight - mixed berries, lemon blueberry with goat cheese, and banana Foster, with egg and housemade sausage. There were berries throughout the mixed berries pancake, not just on top. The banana foster pancake actual had banana flavor in it, which was enhanced by the bananas and the sauce on top.Neither of us were disappointed! Everything was delicious! Not from the area, we asked a local where is a good place to go for breakfast. This was a recommendation and a really good one. Right away when entering the restaurant, we were kindly greeted by All staff members that were by the door. We were promptly seated, and had a server coming by to get drinks started within minutes. Not too much longer than that, we were asked if we had any questions about the menu and if we were ready to order. Very good service. Our server was Wendy. The food did not come out super fast. Which is a good thing. Quality food does take some time, so relax. Once the food did come out, the food was hot, excellent presentation, and for those who judge food on portion size, the plates were quite large. You will not leave this place hungry. All of the meals were absolutely delicious! Seriously, lots of unique flavors. You can tell this place prides themselves in excellent service and food. Every bite was better than the next. As far as the restaurant itself. This place is pretty spacious. You are not packed in. The place appears clean. And the pricing was affordable. The menu is not overwhelming. Plenty of choices. And for calorie counters, there is calories located on the menu for each dish. This is by far the best meal I have had in Memphis so far. I took my wife on an impromptu after work brunch date. Lately we've had bad luck with hood service at certain establishments, but they broke the restaurantal curse we were pandemized by. I had a very great experience when I came to this location. It was my first time at this restaurant and everyone was raving about it. I ended up sitting at the bar area due to the wait time when I got there. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation that I had with the bartender and he provided quality service even with the pressure of making drinks for those at the table. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and it was DELICIOUS. The cinnamon rolls were so fresh and moist and topped with icing and fresh berries. It was definitely such a good choice. Waited so long even after we checked in...we used the Yelp wait list tool,which was very easy and accommodating; however upon checking in at the restaurant we still waited two hours. Mind you most restaurants had long waits due to a big game in town, but this wait wasn't worth it. I was served 4 sodas while waiting for food when I was clearly sipping on the first and by the time food came the establishment was closing(2pm) so we were then rushed to eat. We had the Bourbon pancakes, eggs, chicken sausage, bananas foster type French toast...good, but equal to Ihop in my opinion. No photo's as we were so rushed it would have been bad. Plated sloppy, and about 7 glasses of tea and soda sitting on our two top table. Disappointed thoroughly. I went there for a work meeting and spent a few hours there. The staff and service was great! It wasn't slow, they were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The portion size was large, with the omelet coming with breakfast potatoes and an English muffin. I got the Hey Lucy and it was fantastic. I also tried a coworkers omlet, the Baquezo. Wonderful too!! If you like spicy Mexican, it will be an instant favorite. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the price was VERY high. After tip, $18 for the platter and coffee...too much. This place needs an overhaul with the check in & waitlist scenario. We arrived @ 945am & was told it would be a 30 minute wait. After 45 minutes we asked to make sure we hadn't been skipped & told it would be another 30 minutes. The hostess didn't seem to understand the yelp waitlist system & keep giving patrons terrible info on the expected wait time. Many folks were getting extremely upset & leaving. After an hour & half, we couldn't take it anymore & left ourselves. Too make all this worst, the place had open tables that that were being held for yelp waitlist parties that had not arrived. You could see even the wait staff was frustrated because they had open tables & folks standing in the lobby that could take them. Our first & last experience. I don't care how good your food is, if you can't train your staff to promptly seat patrons then they will move on. read more

Came last Sunday on a very busy morning with a table of 5. Luckily we had joined the waitlist so when we got there we did not have to wait long for a table. We were greeted quickly by our server, NeNe, and she set the tone for our entire meal. NeNe is one of those people you want to hug when you meet them. She had a huge smile, wasn't fazed by the many tables she had, and always had something funny to say when she came by. She took our order and the next tables order at the same time, without writing anything down. That always amazes me when people can do that without missing anything! Our food came out relatively quickly for how busy it was. I think our pitcher of Bloody Mary's actually took the longest (again, very busy, and it was not her fault) but we didn't even mind because NeNe continuously checked on us with a smile. The food was fantastic (shrimp & grits for me, crab cake benedicts for dad, BLT for mom, hashbrown benedicts for hubs and chicken & waffles for son) and NeNe went out of her way to bring my son a very fancy hot chocolate! I wish I would have had the opportunity to talk to a manager about how great NeNe was! If I was a manager in any kind of hospitality business I would be recruiting NeNe to work for me. It was a seasonal lobster dish.. when it arrived to my table it looked like slop over the thickest grits I've ever seen in my life, they were more like mashed potatoes. I was extremely displeased and I requested to speak to the manager. The manager didn't show any empathy towards my party, nor the dissatisfaction that we had with his restaurant. Possible Solutions: 1. imply the "one team one fight" mindset into your staff. There were multiple employees in the restaurant who's jobs were unclear to me, because I saw tables that needed to be cleaned while they huddled up and socialized with one another. The goal should be to get customers in & out within a timely manner. 2. Clear out the restaurant!!!! You don't have to be rude about it but once customers are finished eating & have paid. Politely ask them to leave! I honestly felt like it's an inside job, the staff has their friends come and sit at the bar to keep other customers from sitting there. I watched customers at the bar showing memes to the bar attendants, glue acrylic nails on, and just have a great time socializing to themselves without actually doing anything profitable for Another Broken Egg. All while dozens of other customers were waiting for service. 3. Put people in position that truly are excited to come to work & to serve the customer. No. Nope. Nah. I was so excited to try out this location for brunch with my gal pals. My excitement quickly dwindled and eventually turned to complete disappointment. We arrived to learn from the host that it would be a 45 minute to 1 hour wait, which was to be expected on a Sunday. I usually give servers a break, because I know all too well how quickly a shift can turn into a nightmare. However, this guy was a mess. We waited quite a while before he came to our table to ask for drink orders and he became extremely frustrated when we asked questions about the different offerings. He became even more frustrated when he realized we were asking about a drink similar to what is currently being offered on the special fall menu. Guess who didn't receive the fall menu? That's right, we didn't. He left and returned with our drinks, only to be rude when we inquired about making certain items vegetarian. Nothing too crazy, just wanting to know if it was possible to leave bacon off a couple of dishes and asking if bacon grease was in the grits (because it's the south and bacon is in everything). He sighed and explained that many of the dishes were pre-made so we wouldn't be able to customize them. Pre- made? This is a breakfast joint! Do you really have egg dishes just sitting around back there under a heating lamp? I have questions... In an effort to end this extremely long post, I will say that he eventually returned with our orders and 4/6 were wrong. One friend only received one item from her meal and had to reorder her food. Another friend received only her side dish and had to ask for her waffle three times before he acknowledged it was missing and went to the kitchen to request it. I also received side dishes that were not what I ordered. Adding to our irritation, our server seemed to completely disappear after we told him everything that was wrong with our orders. He left all the dishes, from our appetizers to meal dishes, piled up on the table. We received no refills and one of my friends was told she would have to wait for him to get to his other tables when she dared to request another mimosa. TL;DR: This location was absolute chaos during my visit. Service was bad. Orders arrived wrong, cold, or not at all. Food was not at all worth the wait. However, once you you're seated be prepared to have your tastebuds stimulated with the best flavors of Memphis! My favorite thing to order is tied between the Cinnamon Roll French toast and the Shrimp & Grits. That being said the fried green tomatoes and crab cakes is not short stopping. The estimated 'wait time' was 36-55 mins, when we joined the wait line at 10:40 am, Saturday, 10 July and did not get a table until 2 hours later. If only people, followed the order of the Waiting System. I waited inside the restaurant when I was #5 and I counted 7 vacant tables inside the dining area. There was particularly 1 party that got seated after talking with the person with the reservations/tablet, and i noticed the count did not change. I was still #5 for another 15 mins. When we finally got seated, it was 2 hrs 30 mins waited, and we were at the porch. The waitress was apologetic and said there may be another 15-20 mins wait for a seat inside.
