We've never experienced any issues here despite the rep that WH tends to have. the staff are always friendly and my food hits the spot. Discriminates against white customers. Went in one morning around 8 and sat for over 15 minutes without so much as eye contact from the staff while patrons of African descent got served immediately. One of those customers who seemed kind and working on her laptop noticed I was being ignored and tried to say something to the staff but by that time it was clear I wasn't welcome there and left. All I said was "I guess they're busy" and thanked her before I walked out of the door. read more

Breakfast was very good. Real apple juice and Very clean. The majority of the staff was friendly, Except my waitress, a black lady with way to much makeup. She dropped our breakfast at the table and gave us our ticket and never returned to our table to check on us or see if we needed anything. I did see the other staff doing that but not our waitress. She sat across from us at the counter by the window counting her tips the entire time we sat there eating. I asked for unsweetened tea and she gave me sweet tea. That dangerous if you are diabetic. Fortunately the rest of the staff were assisting us to see if we needed anything. No tip because she did not provide a service. Come on, you know what it is-a loud, greasy, delicious mess. We were passing through and had to stop in, even during the pandesal. I've only been a couple times and didn't know how seating works so they let us stand there a few minutes before I walked to the register and asked if we seat ourselves, which we did. Once seated, our super sweet waitress took great care of us-well she tried her best! Started with coffee which fiancé put cream and Splenda in then said it tasted like tea. He was gonna be fine with tea-tasting coffee but when I tasted mine I said "it tastes like tea because it's tea!" LOL. Kindly told sweet pea she gave us tea and she embarrassingly apologized. No worries, she gave us our coffee and took our order. We both got the same thing-Sausage Egg and Cheese Hashbrown Bowl with a waffle except I ordered a side of grits and he ordered a side of bacon. What we received was the bowls, an extra side of hash browns and two sides of grits plus the bacon and waffles. They were pretty busy so we took it all in stride, just letting her know what we ordered vs what we received so as not to be charged but fiancé opted to pay for his free grits. (He shouldn't have because they were super runny and off-mine were thick and perfect.) ANYWAY-all in all, the food was good, the service was good and the leftovers were even better! read more

Sometimes you just have to have it. Admit it. You know it's true. Waffle House. It's new. It's not dirty yet. They were well staffed. There were 7 working a lunch shift. Of course they're goofing off and playing around. Service is informal and sassy. Chicken sandwich was pretty good, and especially at that price. I took a picture of a waffle someone left behind. I decided that I wanted breakfast for dinner. I went to the Waffle House and ordered All Star breakfast and it was delicious. I am so glad that I order it over the phone. Because if I would have went in and seen the Waffle maker area so dirty. Come on World I use to be a waitress in my Early years. Please keep your area clean. With capacity at 50%, you'd think they would be able to get the food out quickly. Nope. Not only did we walk out 45 minutes after we placed our order and the table that came in after us get served and completed their meal, we were told there were still 2 orders ahead of ours! Needless to say, we walked out without ever getting our food. Extremely poor prioritization on orders as they are more interested in cooking take out orders than taking care of the few dining in. This location has some issues with customer service. I walked in on a Saturday at 3:28 pm and after waiting a minute had a woman look up and tell me she'd be with me in a minute, then went back to calculating something. A few seconds later I asked if I could sit at an empty table. I saw to other tables occupied and a row of chairs lined up to block off the tables and bathroom on the other side of the restaurant. The woman then tells me she's not seating anyone for dine in anymore, it's to go orders only. Do they just arbitrarily decide when they want to stop seating folks?? I really enjoyed the Waffle house in Atlanta, so I was excited to visit one with a full parking lot in Memphis. Usually full parking means good food. As I am on crutches at the moment, I placed my order and paid for my food. The woman that took my order was even given a tip because of her kind service.
