My friend and I made the drive down to Memphis this morning and arrived around 12. They got the two of us in within 10 minutes and took our order within another 10, and then the food was there in another 10. Super quick for the Sunday rush! The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. Also had a juniper latte, which was basically a caramel latte with whipped cream and syrup swirl. Very tasty but it could have been hotter. I personally would request an extra shot of espresso next time. My friend ordered a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon. Potatoes, and French toast. All good. Very good breakfast place located on (right next to???) and he U of M campus. It's no great secret how good the place is so you're most likely gonna have some amount of wait, whether it's waiting for a table to open or just them working through the queue (that was the wordle the other day) of people also heading in for some tasty breakfast. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The restaurant itself is made up of like 2nor 3 different rooms of tables. The bathrooms are (well the men's room anyway I can't speak to the ladies room) is a weird set up. I can't describe it but it does lend itself to logjams! Oh man bad comparison I didn't mean it like that. Food is excellent. Very very good! I had steak Benedict and grits. Other items ordered at our table were a chorizo burrito, pancakes, and a potato bowl. They have a couple different house branded hot sauces on the table and also their own branded syrup. Brother Junipers is a well oiled machine. Expect a wait, especially on the weekends, but the service is fast & friendly. The food is cooked to order & always right. It's a bit packed and was very busy when we went, but we were seated right away. Our food came out fast, our lattes finally came out after our food. The latte was okay. Nothing special. For my order, I ordered the Florentine, which was an open faced omelette with a side of cheese grits. The omelette was fresh and flavorful and absolutely filling! The cheese grits were creamy and decadent. And the biscuit was buttery, flaky perfection. Brother Juniper's is good for breakfast, offering what is now the commonplace mix of healthy (avocado toast) with the less-so. Just on the basis of visiting Memphis for a couple of days, their "best breakfast" slogan seems accurate--to the extent that we ate there two days in a row. Biscuits were amazingly moist and flaky, the best I've had in a while. Just these are worth the stop. There are variety of egg/potato dishes available. I tried the San Diegan all out "open face omelet", but found that there were too many competing elements in the dish. Next time I would opt for one of the simpler potato dishes. Note for those with an aversion or allergy to egg: BJ's offers a range of potato-based dishes with nary a fleck of egg involved. Second time around I went for the Mushroom Portobello Mellow. This was a perfect creation with the exactly right ratio of egg to stuffs, the egg perfectly cooked in omelet fashion, and sides of potato and that aforementioned biscuit holding up their side of the plate. Coffee was hot and relatively strong (relative to the standards of my hometown down at the end of I-55). Wowwwww I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. I literally use to live in the area and never heard about this place. But better late then never right. From the reviews people said it is alwayssssss packed and I can agree it was haha but luckily I was by myself and got seated quickly. The place has a lot of charm and the house is so cute. Def full of college kids and families but that's okay. I decided to start with the Juniper Latte which was really tasty. I wish I would've told them almond milk but still good. The whipped cream was so good. The food I must say they did they big one. I got the potato's with chorizo sausage and it was soo good and cheesy. I added sausage gravy with my biscuit and that def hit the spot. Everything was so hot and fresh and everyone was very friendly! I think this is a place where literally everything is good. On this day 3/23/25 we decided to skip church and go check out this highly rated breakfast spot. Unfortunately as awesome as the food was (minus the cheese grits) the service was absolutely horrible. We walked in and had a staring contest with the 3 hostess I finally asked do we seat ourselves they all replied no but said nothing after that mind you it's 47 degrees outside we were then asked if we wanted to sit on their patio (outside) 3 other groups came in behind us that were all greeted with welcoming smiles and instantly taken to the lower dining area to be seated. We informed staff that we too want to dine with everyone else indoors and from that point it just got worse. At this time we were the only African American couple in the room and the stares began, the room got so quiet, along with some eye rolls. Nothing about this experience felt welcoming, it was a great deal of tension from both staff and guests (not all but a great portion) we both felt like we were not supposed to be there. We were going to leave but then our food arrived which we ended up getting to go boxes and ate in the park in our car instead. It's very unfortunate to read more reviews of others having very similar experiences. The food was great but unfortunately due to our initial experience we won't be back to patronize this establishment. We came here before heading home from Memphis on a family friend's recommendation. This place must be near or in the college area as there is a college bookstore beside it. There isn't a lot of parking but there is a parking lot across the street we utilized since the businesses were not open. We had a 45 minute wait, but the restaurant has a waiting list you can view on your phone so you can see when you are close. We waited in the car until we were 3rd on the list. We were seated on the enclosed porch - which worked out well because inside was packed. Good sign right? We had coffee and: Open face omelettes for my son's, the San Diegan and Florentine - the sons gave them both a thumbs up. 4* The Gravy Benedict, very hardy breakfast; the Hollandaise plus gravy, yeah ... Very rich! I also went with the loaded cheese grits, to put everything over the top!4* We also shared the cinnamon roll pancakes - these were perfect, so delicious and wonderful with coffee - another reason I couldn't finish my main!
