I went in being a fan of everything at novel. I left feeling also as fanatic about Libro! I went to dinner with three others and all four of us ordered something different; all four of us loved what we had! I had their burger which was anything but basic. Everything that I tasted was such good quality -- including the delicious French fries. (My sister had some kind of salad with shrimp and she was so so happy with hers.) Only negative note was my coke was super flat and I never got a refill as our waiter wasn't overly attentive. So that aspect of my meal felt like a waste. Overall, it felt so special to eat delicious food inside a magical little bookstore. The restaurant itself was lovely. I'd love to come back and taste what else they have on their menu!

I went on a lunch date with a friend and had the best time! We ate at the cutest little restaurant tucked inside a bookstore. It actually took me a while to realize it was even there, and even longer to finally check it out. But, worth the wait! Surprisingly, the place was packed for a Tuesday afternoon. We managed to snag a table, but it was definitely the place to be. I ordered the pesto sandwich with a side salad, perfect portion size for lunch, and everything was fresh. I do wish there was more of a sauce on sandwich, it was a bit dry. And, despite the crowd, the service was pretty quick and the staff were very friendly.

The brunch at Libro is phenomenal! I have been wanting to go again and made time a few Sundays ago. A friend and I went to partake of the yummy dishes. My friend ordered the seafood omelette and I chose the crab cakes. We shared the dishes. Both of the dishes were very tasty. The seasonings were spot on with great flavor. A side salad accompanied the seafood omelette. On top of my crab cakes were eggs with a delicious sauce. The service was good. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. The cafe is decorated very nicely and has a unique charm and coziness. An added bonus: classical guitar concert during brunch. It was fantastic. I believe the guitarist is a parent of a former student of mine. I know I will return to experience another awesome dining experience. We had a fabulous time.

Libro is such a great spot to catch up with a friend or have a date night! My book club has even had dinner here several times! The food never disappoints and the wine and cocktail selections are great as well!

I love Libro! It's the perfect place to grab a bite to eat after shopping at Novel. This is the fourth time I've eaten here. I usually get a pasta and their portions are perfect, a half order is plenty of food and is very affordable. This time I got the BLT and added egg to try something new, and it was great as well. We did not have a reservation, but we still were able to be sat immediately. Our server was very kind and attentive. The lighting in Libro is great for taking pictures, and there was a man playing guitar softly throughout our visit. I'll definitely be back!

This place is super cute. Staff was friendly and service was superrrrrr quick. I never thought I would say this, but maybe a bit too quick. We got the calamari app which was good. Before we could finish, our entrees were served. RIGHT as we finished our entrees, they asked about dessert. We said yes and got the tiramisu. We got a bottle of wine to split before the app, and didn't even finish it by the time we finished dessert (which is saying a lot for us). Overall we had a good experience, but it felt rushed. Food: Calamari: good, can't complain, but nothing to rave about Peppercorn steak and fries: steak was cooked to perfection and fries were delicious. Servers never came back to ask if I wanted any dipping sauce for the fries. Shrimp maque choux: good flavor and shrimp cooked well. Used the extra sauce for the fries from the other plate which was delicious. I have no complaints on the food. Overall it would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the service. They were so friendly, just not attentive enough. Empty app plate sat on the table during the entire meal. Also they seem to have a good happy hour I might want to check out.

If you want to read a good book and eat well, Libro is the place to be. I enjoyed my steak salad when I tell you I ate that salad so fast. You would've thought I've never eaten before. It was flavorful, colorful, and fresh. I ordered my steak medium well as always. I did enjoy my Cajun fries but I wasn't too focused on it because the salad was just that good. The service was excellent, the waiter constantly checked in on my guest and I as we caught up on our lives over a wonder meal. If you are not a big drinker like me, you should try the fruit tea. It does come in a cocktail glass and it was garnished with a fresh mint.

This one is for the book, cocktail, and food lovers! Libro/Novel has easily become one of my favorite places to go! I've been for brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour! Basically, whatever they have to offer, I've tried it...twice! They have local good for purchase and it's a bookstore and restaurant, what more can you ask for. The service is always top tier, and the food is filling and flavorful. I can really just sit in there for hours listening to a little jazz, finding a friend at the bar and just admiring the atmosphere. I love to write so this place is a dream come true for me. If you haven't been I highly suggest trying them out. I've even included their happy hour for anyone interested. Happy Hour is every Tues - Sat from 3pm to 6 pm! HH Specials: $5 well spirits $4 off house cocktails $8 house Martinis(gin or Vodka) $5/$14 house wines $3 bud light Drinks/Food captured: SECRET LIFE OF BEES Barr Hill Gin, Lemon, Lavender Honey Syrup French 75 HUCK FINN Tanqueray Gin, Lemon, Agave, Fresh Blackberries & Basil VEGETABLE STIR FRY Bok choy, baby corn, brocollini, mushroom, snap peas, bell peppers, carrots, onion, garlic & ginger SHRIMP MAQUE CHOUX Shrimp, corn, poblano peppers in a rich cream sauce with cajun seasoning over basmati rice

Very cute but the portions are a little small. It's nestled inside a book store which is cool. Service was wonderful and I would dine in again. Perfect for a solo date or first date.

A true hidden gem! My only regret is not finding this place sooner. I've been here twice in one week and both times did not disappoint. The atmosphere is cool with a dash of sophisticated. The staff was friendly and helpful. My waiter Nathan was THE BEST! He was knowledgeable about every dish and drink on the menu. I really appreciate that because I rarely know what I want. So far I've had the bruschetta, ravioli, lupara, and mare dishes. The Lupara is my favorite. It's the best pasta I've had outside of Italy! The housemade Italian sausage is absolutely delicious! The Mare was good but definitely an acquired taste. It's very seafoody which may throw some people off. The sauce is slightly spicy too. The ravioli is yummy, but FULL of butter. It looked like an oily dish with ravioli and parmesan. Bruschetta was perfect. I can't wait to go back to try their brunch!

Delicious food at a reasonable price. The service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy, so they did the best they could.

The baked beans had a beautiful bbq sauce with a little heat from jalapeño. However... the other sides were completely lacking. The coleslaw tasted like it came out of a bucket. Just premade. The potato salad was overwhelmed by pickle flavoring and tasted like sweet relish. That seemed to be homemade though. The Mac n cheese was just underwhelming, unfortunately. It was missing a little something something... like soul. I can't speak on the service as I had it delivered. It came quick and hot. I was worried it the chicken was going to steam and get soggy but that was not the case. I can't speak on the ambiance since of the place either. I was hesitant considering that it's a touristy spot and I should have listened to my gut. The food was mid. I was expecting crunchy fried chicken and was disappointed as all of the chicken was soggy. Granted I took it to go but I also picked it up as soon as I got the message it was ready and I was not even 5 mins down the road. I also ordered a side of Mac n cheese, greens, and fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes had no flavor and were... soggy. The Mac n cheese had no flavor and was coagulated. And the greens... the greens yall!!! So disappointed. They were bone dry and tasted like they were from a can. Was this place horrible? No. Will I be going back next time in town? Probably not. I gave 3 stars because I'm not from Memphis and maybe this is how yall like it. I'm just disappointed.

Biscuits, donuts, and fried chicken are staples in my belly! The execution of the vision is where it's all gone sideways. Allow me to explain... They are cashier-less. They are also human interaction less. I do not like it all, although I am a hypocrite as I hate human interactions as a rule. That makes me torn. Ugh The non personal interaction, with the I don't see you vibe you get from the staff when you walk in turns me off. They can see me, but just don't care to. It's tough man. They also don't take good Ol' American cash. I could actually care less about this as I always use cards anyway, but to others it pisses them off when you can't use actual money at a place that depends on money to thrive. This is my real beef, personally. Cheap ass packaging and utensils. Trying to save a dime or so on packaging will make me never come here again! I usually just get handheld biscuits and gator tots so I have never needed to use utensils before. The last time I ordered a biscuits and gravy box. It was served to go automatically and it was in a thin paper box with no liner with a piece of folded up wax paper on the bottom. The fork and knife given to me is the cheapest version you can buy. Think gas station utensils, and then move a step down from that. It was disfigured out of the package and was useless to try and use to cut. It simply folded. Trying to eat this out of the flimsy, tiny box, paired with the aluminum foil thickness plastic ware they gave me, I got so pissed off I just threw it away. The biscuit was good, the gravy was good, the tenders were old and cold which made cutting it impossible. I do believe cooking folks food to order is a must in this day and age. The folks that own this place need to step up the packaging badly. These bowls should be served in actual plastic or poly bowls with a lid and decent set of eating utensils! '26 - 24
