We visited for the 1st time last year during our Annual Double Dutch Beale Street Takeover in Memphis, and it was so good that while planning this year's trip (4/30/26 - 5/3/26), we made sure Bryant's was added to our itinerary again. I'm happy to say the food quality, portion sizes, and customer service were just as amazing as we remembered. Everything was consistent, flavorful, and worth the return visit -- definitely another one for the books! What made the experience even more special was having the same two waitresses from last year, and they actually remembered us. This place is a Memphis staple and a must stop if you're visiting. It's located on Summer Ave and it's not the most prestigious neighborhood but I've never had any problems there. Bryant's is listed on Eater Nashville as one of the top 20 Essential Restaurants in Memphis. The restaurant has that neighborhood diner feel with hot coffee and freshly cooked breakfast moving about from counter to table. The service is great, fast and friendly. If you come on the weekend be prepared to stand in line. The decor is no frills, a few pics on the walls. The star is the food, beautiful pancakes and French Toast among other yummy plates. I ordered the famous Country Ham, Biscuits, Gravy, Grits and eggs plate to go. The biscuits were proper Southern biscuits light and fluffy just waiting on a slather of butter. The grits and eggs were ok not award worthy. The Ham was what I was excited about because I only eat ham on special occasions, however it was dry and overcooked. The ham was a No for me. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give this diner a try. First time visit as we are from Texas. The french toast could have been thicker and there wasn't enough of a serving of fruit on it in our opinion. The fried taters are actually shredded potatoes mixed with tiny onion bits. The ham was extremely salty. I was pleased to try grits with here in TN. I added some butter, salt and pepper to mine and it made them better to eat. My husband added banana and syrup to his. Overall, it was a filling breakfast. The service was very friendly which is a change to everyone being so serious around here. I used to work at a family owned diner on Quince growing up, and this little spot reminds me of it down to a tee! The line was wrapped around the building, which is always a good indicator! You order as soon as you walk and and find a seat and the food is brought to you. So if you dont know what you want you will be holding up the line. Woke up early to head over and try this place out. Parking was easy and there weren't too many people inside. The minute you pull into this place you know it's going to be good. Old school diner vibes for sure. The inside is open with a bunch of tables and you order at the counter as soon as you walk in. I went with the sampler and my daughter got the strawberry pancakes. Our food came out pretty quick and there was a lot of it. Overall everything tasted pretty good. I thought the ham and pork tenderloin were a little dry but the biscuits were some of the best I have ever had. We were told by a hotel employee about Bryant's and shared about their biscuits. I'm not a biscuit person, however those with me do enjoy biscuits. I must admit that if the place were not Recommended we would Not have gone / gone in to the restaurant. From the outside it looks like there would be no seating and as if it were a dive. Our meals ordered included a veggie omelet with biscuits and gravy, fried bologna and eggs and pancakes with thick bacon (you'll see the pictures) and an order of hash brown casserole (however we didn't realize until wee were back to the hotel and thanked the employee for the recommendation. The fried bologna literally melts in your mouth was nicely crispy edges. The bacon was thick and cooked to perfection (no under cooked flaccid bacon but thick and tasty. The pancakes were more griddled cakes with lightly crispy edges and bits. They were fluffy yet light. The omelette was full of veggies, the biscuits (I was told) were light, buttery and hot. The two breakfasts were served with grits. We were satisfied and so glad we went ahead and ate there. The food was fantastic! The only thing was we did not get the hash brown casserole as ordered however we did not realize until we'd returned to the hotel. The hash brown patties are so salty one can't eat them. The sausage patties are , to me, a weird off brand seasoned. The food individually is to stark and did not blend together like a meal as it used to. This is a great place for breakfast but you night drive right by it if not looking for it. The paint and color on the outside is weathered and not bright. It doesn't look like a place that even might sell good food when you are looking from the outside. And, once you walk in its not your average looking breakfast restaurant type of place. The fried bologna was melt in your mouth smooth with crispy edges (just the way I like mine) The eggs were scrambled just right and were so tasty. I added the country sausage gravy to mine and it was just the right amount of savory to push the dish over the top for me. The biscuits were homemade and were light and airy. The added gravy to them reminded me of my grandmothers kitchen table in North Carolina when I was a child. The hickory bacon was thick cut, smoked, and cooked to perfection! The person that had the coffee in our party said that the coffee was tasty and also brewed to perfection. The price for breakfast was very reasonable so I would definitely recommend this place as a must drop in for breakfast. Again, it doesn't look like much from the outside and when you first walk in...but looks can be deceiving. The place was not too crowded and was filled with the good men and women who provide the services needed to keep the country going. Service was quick, and breakfast arrived at the table quickly.
