    Fried chicken, green beans, okra
    Craig Z.

I'd like to start off and say how Grace was absolutely top notch, and made my decision to bump my visit to 4 stars. She was friendly, super attentive, and overall just in a great mood. This was my first time to Tennessee, and my first time trying southern food there. I'll try and break this down quickly. The restaurant was cool and super clean. The cornbread and okra were probably the worst I ever had. The cornbread had no sweetness or flavor at all, and the okra was just hard, cold and rubbery. The sautéed squash was ok, with no flavor or seasoning really. I really enjoyed the green beans though. The macaroni and cheese wasn't that great at all, and the grilled catfish was decent. Now for the star of the show, the fried chicken. It was absolutely terrific! The thin and crispy batter and the juiciest meat! Yummy! We took home three desserts. Cobbler a la mode, banana pudding and bread pudding. The cobbler was great, the banana pudding was awesome, but the bread pudding wasn't that good. It was very dense, and the vanilla sauce was missing. That might have helped it a bit. Overall, we had a great visit and the service was completely top notch! Thanks again Grace!

Great diner we like to stop at on Fridays to open the weekend. Right near to Kroger, convenient, and fast. Classic American staples along with weekly specials. Very much enjoy the pre-meal cornbread and biscuits, as well as the fried green tomatoes. We've been a few times and will be back again.

Yummy! Local place in Bartlett that was very delish. Went with family to dine last night. Some of the best southern comfort food I have ever eaten. I had the beef liver and onions which brought back childhood memories for me. The mac and cheese was legit. Squash was a tad over cooked for me. My nephews ordered catfish, country fried steak and fish and chips. They enjoyed their meals as well. Everything was delicious. We were too full for dessert. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Wes, our server was attentive, pleasant and helpful. Our food came out quickly and was hot. The restaurant is decorated with a variety of decor which reminds me of a country home. It is warm and comforting and feels just like home. The place is quite large and can seat several people. There is plenty of parking for patrons. I will come back to try other dishes at this local gem in Bartlett, TN.

Went in at 12:30ish on a Sunday and the place was already crowded with people so there was a bit of a wait. The menu was a little exhaustive and it took some time to read through. I ordered the Sunday special and the person with me ordered catfish. I was disappointed with the Turkey and dressing (the dressing was crumbly and the was large chunks of dry meat). The gravy was served on the side but could not be poured on because it was like jelly. I was given a choice between tender cabbage and crispy cabbage). I chose crispy and immediately thought maybe I should have chosen tender. The cabbage tasted like it had been pan fried in burned butter. Though the waitress was friendly and attentive, I probably would not visit again.

I will say, this place absolutely hates seasoning. Salt and pepper even. I ordered the catfish nuggets, pot roast, country fried chicken and there was absolutely nothing good about anything. The pot roast is so tough and flavorless. Not even the broth or carrots and potatoes have flavor. The French fries have nothing on them but my 3 year old like the catfish nuggets. Everything, even the country fried chicken tasted old as heck. I will never buy 80 dollars worth of food for my family from here again. I'm sure they're nice people and it's a nice place to be at but let's do better on cooking the food before we worry about service and ambiance. I am just very upset I can't be refunded.

First visit was to go via Ubereats- I went in to place my order via ubereats (had ubercash to spend), but I went in so they could explain to me why I needed to select a side if the fish and chips meal states it comes with fries, hushpuppies, slaw, and tarter sauce? Anyway, the young man helped me with the order after I explained why I didn't want to order with him directly. No biggie, food was ready in about 15mins and no I did not find out why I still needed to "order" a side with the meal. I also ordered the peach cobbler that comes with ice cream. They were fairly busy with patrons and plenty to go orders. It is located next to Kroger on Kirby-Whitten/Stage. Great spot if you want a meat and veggies, the fish and chips were pretty basic, not my best decision when ordering food, the fries are sidewinder fries(not my favorite), slaw was bland and the tarter sauce tasted weird(tangy..not in a good way). I would not order fish and chips again and based on the menu I may come back for a veggie plate. As for now, 3 stars. The cobbler was not made that day, it smelled like it had been prepared a few days before, I warmed it up the next day and had the ice cream with it, definitely not made the day of ordering, but was ok.

They let me sample the Smoked Catfish Dip, which is served cold. It was delicious, so I had that for my appetizer. It's a huge portion and would be more than enough for 2-3 people to share. It comes with tortilla chips and they recommend trying it with the green Tabasco sauce. That adds a little heat to it. For my beer, I had a Memphis Made Fireside Amber Ale, which paired well with the both the appetizer and my entree. My entree was the Blackened Catfish with White Beans and Hushpuppies. I also tried their Homemade Tartar Sauce and Remoulade. Everything was excellent. I noticed they do quite a bit of carry out, to go orders. It looked like their to go orders outnumbered the actual restaurant patrons inside. They had a few waitresses constantly prepping carry out bags, filling sauces, etc...almost assembly line style, just to keep up. My dinner with tip was $50 plus.

The food isn't that good to begin with, maybe 4/10. I was excited to try this place because I seen them on instagram but ended up being very disappointed . The manager wasn't available to speak with, just some teenagers running the place and they didn't want to refund my son for his uneaten food nor replace the mean with something better. Not even try and compensate him (only offer a discount) and then told him to leave because he was on his phone. The cook came out acting as if he was also the security' guard, but looks like a child. Maybe that's why the food isn't that great. I definitely don't recommend this place to anyone...

My understanding is that they opened at the top of the year, but this event served as an opportunity to introduce this new black owned business to the Bartlett community. The location is quite convenient (by Kroger on Kirby Whitten). We had ample parking selections, and we were seated once we got in. We were greeted by every server, all seemed friendly and ready to serve. Inside, the atmosphere gives a family feel. There was a mix of couples in attendance, primarily skewing 40's-50's. My husband and I greatly appreciated the live jazz music, which added more upscale vibe to the overall experience. I also absolutely love that they had both a coffee bar and a standard bar. We did not try the hibachi, but that option was available as well. It took about 30 minutes for us to receive our food and about 15 minutes for us to receive our drinks. we had the mango and orange mimosas and both were good (though I highly recommend the mango). We both got the omelettes (veggie and veggie + ham). It was an ample amount of food. I couldn't even eat much of the hash browns because I was so full! For the price, we were both quite satisfied! Our server was attentive and consistently checked on us. Our water classes were never empty. I appreciate this type of service. We both agreed that we would be back, probably with family. I am hoping that this will become a staple in the Bartlett community.

I had the veggie plate with butter beans (they were a bit sweet and limas, not true butter beans), fried squash (the slice it long ways and hand batter), spinach mashed potatoes, and deviled eggs (delicious, no notes). I tried both hush puppies and a roll. Personally, the hush puppies weren't my favorite, but the roll was buttery goodness:). Most importantly, I asked our server at the beginning if they still had chocolate cobbler and if they were running low to go ahead and bring it out. At first they had plenty, but a few minutes later cobbler was in front of me because she noticed it was running low. So dessert first! Don't mind if I do:) it was warm, gooey, and delicious. The catfish is magnificent, with that wonderfully gritty cornmeal batter surrounding flaky, tender fish. The complimentary roll is also delicious! And the servers are very nice here! But there are some downsides. The fried okra, my favorite southern side dish, is actually soft and soggy. No self respecting southerner would ever make soggy fried okra. It's about the worst I ever had. And the onion rings, which are hard to mess up, were burnt black and lacked flavor. They were inedible.
