We frequent TKT about once a month or so because the food, the service, and the atmosphere are always excellent. This time, I tried a new menu item--they add and take away items fairly often so you can try new things. The turkey melt had smoked turkey and came on Texas toast. The sandwich was really good, as one would expect with thick cut bacon and smoked turkey. I was very pleased with this new item and will certainly get it again, unless they add something else new that catches my eye.

Fantastic menu, awesome atmosphere and incredible service. We had a party of 9 and tried most of the appetizers (all were tasty) and several main dishes. I had the catfish sliders which was the perfect choice. I definitely recommend this little gem and enjoy the outdoor dining.

Biscuits topped with gumbo - delicious! $10

Delicious breakfast/brunch options with a creole influence. I ordered the gumbo biscuits, and they did not disappoint! Arlington is a little bit of a haul from where I live, but I would definitely dine there again if someone else wanted to, or if I was in the area.

This place is a hidden gem! Had a great time with friends Friday evening. The food tasted delicious and our server was super nice! Shout out to Tasha!! We started off with deviled eggs with candied bacon. The mixture was smooth and had a slight kick of heat. The candied bacon added to the appetizer. The fried green tomatoes were a nice recommendation. Some in our party did not like the pimento cheese. It was different. The candied bacon on top was a tasty treat. My friend ordered the blackened catfish with Parmesan truffle fries. She also had a jalapeño corn muffin on the side. The catfish was moist and cooked to perfection. The delicious fries were a great compliment to the fish. The flavor was on point. Another friend ordered meat loaf that had a variety of seasonings and the gravy was not too salty. It came with long yummy broccolini. They ordered collard greens as well and enjoyed those. The chicken kebabs were okay. Friend said the marinade was a little too sweet for her and would have liked it to be a tad more spicy. My other friend said her BLT was very good as the pork belly had a good flavor and was tasty. I ordered the shrimp and grit cake. I like the subtle spice in the gravy and grit cake. The shrimp was not over cooked and seasoned. We were sorta stuffed but decided to share the bread pudding. Tasted like a cinnamon roll which is a little different. A tad pricey for the amount you receive. It is quite unique. I really enjoyed eating here at this quaint place in the older part of Arlington. It is larger and very bright with country like decor. It reminds me of a country inn or restaurant in a bed and breakfast. I am very glad a friend recommended the newish place that used to be Vinegar Jim's. I will definitely return!

We went for Mother's Day. We were nervous because they didn't have any reservations available so we just showed up and got immediately seated! The food was phenomenal! We also had the spinach dip as an appetizer. Our waitress was awesome and so sweet!! Can't wait to come back to try dinner

Delicious food, always fun to sit outside on the weekends and enjoy brunch. Mimosas and cocktails too!

Beignets and the devil eggs with candied bacon

A cute neighborhood restaurant tucked in the middle of Arlington. It's surrounded by beautiful homes and walking paths that are the heartbeat of this establishment. A great sense of community and small town feels just make this place feel like home. The staff was very kind and attentive. They ensured the needs of their patrons are met and they are all indeed very polite! To top it off, the food was fantastic. I only took pictures of the appetizers, but everything was delicious. The beignets were so flaky and soft! Will definitely be going back!

Crawfish lasagna and chicken and sausage gumbo
    Mark F.

Found this place on our way back home to Texas. So glad we did, I looked at the lunch menu and picked out the crawfish lasagna with a side order of gumbo, chicken and sausage. I got to say I had my doubts about the lasagna, but it was actually exceptionally good. The taste of the crawfish really came through and made this dish something special. I love it when you get a tea glass it's in a quart jar size because you know you're not going to have to ask for very many refills. The wait person was extremely friendly and welcoming. Would definitely find this place again on another trip through this area.

Let's start with the atmosphere. The inside and outside of the restaurant is full of charm. It's welcoming and homey! Our server was fantastic, attentive, and friendly. We felt well taken care of while we dined in. Now onto the best part: the food. My gosh. The menu alone was enough to get us interested in coming to check it out! I ordered the wedge salad and the southern poutine and both knocked my socks off. The flavor combination of the dressing, tomatoes, Gorgonzola cheese and candied bacon was perfection. But the poutine stole the show! So much flavor in every bite!!! Phew. I would come back JUST for that dish. (And I literally can't wait to come back!) We also had the cookie ice cream sandwich and the cookie of the day was peanut butter. The caramel sauce on top was delicious and I could have eaten a bowl of that alone! I also tried the deviled eggs and stole a bite of my daughter's burger and my sister's meatloaf and it was all stellar!!! The kids loved their cotton candy, too! Well done, guys, and keep up the amazing work!!!

I was offered a seat with a menu to review what I wanted before I placed my order and he then offered me a place to wait for my food to take to go. The place is very nicely organized, clean, with a nice ambiance and it has a nice peaceful vibe. The service is excellent, my food came out no more than 5-10 minutes after I ordered. The soup was thoughtfully packed nicely with seran wrap, and all condiments were nicely included in a separated bags (bean sprouts, basil, lime, noodles, chicken and jalapeños). I can tell this place pays attention to detail. Customer service and quality appears to be a priority. The food was excellent, we got the chicken pho. We waited patiently but received empty promises when we made it known that we had not been waited upon. More aggressive people probably would have left the eatery by then. But we waited. Finally they got to us. A note is that for a small to medium sized eatery they were quite full of patrons. But no excuses. The food ordered took quite a while to be brought to us. It doesn't take long for pho to be prepared. Appetizers were ordered and the spring rolls were good. Couple of people ordered egg rolls and in my opinion they were over cooked. I got the Pho Arlington and the noodles were good. The broth was ok and not overly salty. It came with 2 bones of short ribs but not as much of the sliced beef. For $24.99 I expected a little more of the sliced beef even with the short ribs. The pork chop with rice was reported as good. The sizzle cake was very good. Another aspect of our visit was the several members of our party noticed that a worker took several glasses from another table that had left. She took the glasses to a small wash sink and just emptied the glasses, rinse them without cleaning them and refilled them with ice and water and bright them out to our table. Gross! No wash nor sanitizing. Mashed one think what other short cuts do they take? E did not that they have a 93/100 health rating. Overall experience was not great and close to terrible. The food gets an extra star. May try this place again to give them a second chance to make it right since a close friend highly recommended it. To give the management some credit for the situation, they did comp some of the food.

But there are some downsides. The fried okra, my favorite southern side dish, is actually soft and soggy. No self respecting southerner would ever make soggy fried okra. It's about the worst I ever had. And the onion rings, which are hard to mess up, were burnt black and lacked flavor. They were inedible.
