From great food to great customer service! This place has it all! Customer Service: 10/10 The cashier was very nice even though they were extremely busy. Taste: I heard her mention the name "Chris" when some customers excitedly ask about the name of the cook. Well! Chris deserved the recognition especially that day because everything was so good. Often times, Memphis BBQ spots have similar models but not this one. It has a pleasantly unique taste. Also, I found out that they make their own bbq sauces in house. My family tried the BBQ Spaghetti, brisket, beans, & corn nuggets. They were all on point! Cost: 9/10 Typical for a BBQ spot Ambience: 10/10 The atmosphere made you feel like family. They were having a car show outside when I visited. That was an added bonus for my experience. We will definitely visit Ty's again and We will make sure to tip Chris for making our bellies smile! read more

We frequently order take out from Ty's on Friday's at work. I always get the chicken tender lunch special (4 tenders, fries, and a drink for $7.99). Not a fancy restaurant by any means but the food is solid! The tenders are hand breaded and soooo good! Always fresh and by far the best tenders I have ever eaten. The fries are just so so. If they would step up their fry game and offer hand cut fries, they would have lines of people out the door! Good food, service, and price point! read more

First and last time at Ty's! The pulled pork was decent. The brisket tasted like it was cooked last week and the quart of home made banana pudding had 2 pieces of banana and 2 vanilla wafers. Very disappointed for $85 read more

Ok I stayed away for a while but I needed a rib tip fix and Ty's was my choice. I visited on 11/26/25, the day before Thanksgiving and I was pleased with my order. Rib tips were tender, beans are always a hit and fried okra was good. I am proud to say this visit I was pleased with my order and I was greeted when I entered the restaurant(this has never been an issue). They also take holiday orders in advance . read more

Good BBQ ribs, service was great.. a full rack of ribs and the baked beans hit the spot. Looking forward to my next visit!

Today 8/15/25 was the worst experience I've had at TY's. My wife and I went for lunch and was disappointed with both our meals. She had the 1/2 spaghetti and it was served with very little sauce and a lot of noodles. It wasn't acceptable as a meal. I had the two piece catfish platter and it was questionable if it was actually catfish. The filet's were at least an inch thick with an awful seasoned coating. The texture wasn't that of catfish at all. It was flaky, unlike real catfish. I asked one of the servers where it came from and she claimed not to know. I'm personally convinced that it was Sway or some other imported fish they're passing off as catfish. Just be aware if you order this, whatever it is. read more

I've been wanting to try Ty's BBQ for the longest time, and I'm so glad I finally did! I ordered to-go because I was craving some BBQ nachos, and they were phenomenal. The way they packaged everything was really thoughtful, which I appreciated. Next time I'll ask for more bbq sauce. The chicken tenders and fries were a hit with my kids--they loved them! I can't wait to come back and try their BBQ pizza next time. read more

This place should be on a treasure map for the consistent and very favorable food. Their bbq beef is always served hot and with plenty of meat. They also serve various dishes on each day of the week. The customer service is always friendly and helpful. I love the coziness and comfort of the dine-in area. It's extremely clean and very comfortable. read more

I came for the "world famous" Mac and cheese. I could be very wrong, but it tasted like box Mac and cheese. The smoked chicken was pretty good. My husband had the brisket and didn't like it. He said it didn't taste like brisket but rather a pot roast. I'll go back because I want to try the chicken tenders. Everyone was super nice and the food came out fast. read more

The food is good at Ty's. The service is EXCELLENT, and their employees are super-friendly! Do yourself a favor and give them a try. This place used to be rented by A& R BBQ, and Ty's is NOTHING like that business! Give Ty's a try, and get a good meal! read more

Don't let the strip mall fool you, this place is a gem. Country fried chicken was juicy and a good portion. Tons of sauces to try from, and a pretty broad menu. Solid spot and good barbecue at cheaper prices than most chains with more of a down home feel. read more

Best restaurant in Bartlett hands down. Everything on the menu is absolutely amazing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Decently priced. Arguably best BBQ in Memphis????? For sure the ribs are read more

Really, Ty's Smokehouse? Let's discuss that alleged brisket salad.... First off I don't think that "brisket" was fresh. It was hard and dry. I tried to sneak a piece to the dog...but he didn't want it . So, I ended up eating the rib tips. The flavor of the rib tips were good, I believe it came with sweet & spicy type of bbq sauce...I'm not a fan of any type of "sweet" sauces so I won't speak any further on that. But that damn brisket salad pissed me off! read more

I have been waiting to try this place since August. I finally visit Ty's Smokehouse on November 10th, 2023. The first thing I noticed was the good BBQ smell. I also noticed how clean the restaurant was. I also know it was going to be a good visit with the trophy display. I decided to get the Smokehouse Burger with pulled pork. I also got fries. The burger was juicy, the pulled pork was excellent, and the coleslaw just held everything together. The fries was also alright. I decided to get a BBQ pulled pork pizza to go. The pizza was pretty good as well read more

Went here for lunch the other day and thought the place was pretty good. The ribs were good as were the rib ends. I wasn't the biggest fan of their beans which seem to have a bunch of chili powder. The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff is friendly, read more

Ty's bbq has awesome smoked wings at a very reasonable price, my favorite flavor is "sweet heat", and they never fail to impress, and fries are always crispy hot and delicious. i've haven't eaten much else off their menu in years so i can't vouch for the rest of they're bbq but if it taste as good as they're wings it should taste spectacular. read more

Fantastic food! The "muddy" (combo wet & dry rub) ribs were very meaty and tender. Smoked just right. Their take on the Cuban sandwich was awesome - huge sandwich with pulled pork, smoked ham and a special sauce. The pulled pork platter was also top notch. The green beans were very tasty as was the onion rings. The service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. read more

First I call on the 4th of July& Robin answers the phone , how late are you open ? I ask ... she tells me, ohhh last year we ran out of bbq at around 3:30 - ok, listen goofy ass , should I call a Psychic ,& they can tell me ? Like duh, anyway I go up there and place a to-go Order , 2 jumbos with NO Cole slaw and Corn nuggets ... so the wait begins, - finally the young girl is looking at her cell phone and going thru the tie-die shirts while my order is in the window .. I go thru the order and of course , it has slaw on the sandwich's .. bring it to robins attention.. another ten,15 minutes wait ... she hands it to me and assures me that she looked thru the order and assured me it's Right- I get home and the order is Fccked up .. drive back to TYs and get TY himself - that's three Fccking times asking for a sandwich's NO Slaw .. all this while they have the nerve to post a sign that says "we will gladly help you with your order , as soon as you're done using your cell phone " really the nerve - Ty's employees and order takers can be on theirs but the nerve to post that sign all while turning the register terminal towards the customer and ask you for a TIP - really ? 3 times NO Cole slaw on a Fcckn sandwich and had to drive back up to the restaurant myself - no comp, NO I'm sorry ... the owner doesn't have the Balls to hand me the sandwich himself and say I'm sorry , or Happy fourth of the July- and mother truckers wonder why places are closing and people aren't going anywhere - I can stay at home all day and crap in my own hand.. this place thinks it has customers to burn & little ole me won't close this place down ... but I'll tell everyone I know to not even order a sandwich from this stupid Fcckn place... read more

Stopped in here on our way out of town and grabbed some to-go. I ordered a 2 meat meal with a 1/2 slab of ribs. Everything was pretty good but the cashier who took our order was so over being there. I felt like she was annoyed to take my order and her patronizing way of talking to me was beyond rude. I come to Tennessee every year to see my cousins and had planned on hiring this place to cater next year. Definitely not now. If the food is good it but service is rude, we don't return. I think this place could be incredible but the people there need to find their passion again or they'll find themselves out of business. There's way too many excellent bbq places in the area to tolerate bad attitudes. read more

The pulled pork was OK. It tasted like a chemical smoke flavor was added to it. The cole slaw was disappointing. The beans were OK. I have become somewhat of a regular here. I've had everything from the Smokehouse burger to rib tips. The smokehouse Cuban is so huge. The Iowa tenderloin, the bbq salad, the and the chicken sandwich. I love the hamburger steak, but that fried chicken was out of this world. I've always thought the portions were great and I've never left hungry. And best of all, I've always thought I've gotten a great value for my money. Way to go Ty's. I'll be coming back. I just don't do BBQ a whole lot. This place is pretty good though and I eat here occasionally. They have good deals on the lunch specials. Sandwiches are pretty good. They appear to have added a new selection for lunch and dinner. The Hungry Man Special. It's a meat of the day, Texas toast, mashed taters and gravy, a side and a drink. All for $8.99! It was hamburger steak day Wednesday and it was excellent. I had Mac & Cheese as my additional side. It was made with velveta but had an additional cheese in it as well. I liked it. The plate suited it's name well. It was a good sized portion for sure. I probably would have chosen the mashed taters and gravy anyway, but my only criticism is that they should allow the choice of two sides instead of choosing that one for the customer. 11/16/17. The country fried chicken was out of this world crazy good! Best I've ever had probably. Not a frozen thing here. I just don't know how they do it. Highly recommend. Only on Thursdays. Okra is the typical frozen stuff you get anywhere. But my god that chicken! read more

Excellent BBQ, some of the best in the area. The service is very friendly and fast. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with no loud music. It's a quiet place to eat and relax. Did I mention they have tenderloin sandwiches as well as BBQ Pizza? Simply awesome flavors at this place. Also they have many types of BBQ sauce from mild to smoky, to sweet heat. Something here for everyone! read more

Recently visited Ty's smokehouse for the first time. Staff member was friendly & patient with all the questions we had during our visit. The food was just alright. The BBQ was okay, it just wasn't very hot. The mac & cheese was bland, cold, and greasy. However, the fried okra I ordered was piping hot & very yummy. My quest ordered a bbq salad - the salad consisted of lettuce & meat. I feel like with a little more effort that this place could really rise to the challenge. My guests & I did enjoy the large (& delicious) assortments of BBQ sauces to enjoy with our food. I'll be back to given Ty's another try. It's always good to eat local! read more

I got the full rack of ribs, they were some of the driest ribs I have ever had. They tasted as if they had been refrigerated and reheated.. I got the strawberry cheesecake, another let down. The newly designed interior is well executed, even though the soulless strip center location is a hard obstacle to overcome IMO. Furnishings are new of course, and the atmosphere is a little better than most of these shopping center eateries. The smoky flavor of the meat is true to the name of this place and I highly recommend it. Even though I usually order the pulled pork, I have been trying to eat less pork so I reluctantly ordered the brisket. I was very surprised to find it was easily the best brisket I have ever eaten, rivaling many pulled pork efforts for rich smokiness. Sandwich had plenty of meat too. Although everything tasted good together, the slaw by itself, was not inspiring to me, though everyone seems to rave about it. Onion rings were good, but they seemed to be nothing unusual...probably a good frozen variety. I wish every restauranteur would make almost everything they serve, but not everybody can be Elwood's Shack... so we celebrate the good where we find it and the brisket here at Ty's is the best! Sauces: Tried them all. The hot is not hot, the regular is sweet as pancake syrup. The smoky was their best by far, but none can compare with Central's. The meat however was truly exceptional and elevated what would have been a barely three star experience. Yes, the brisket was that good. read more

Giving this place a shot for lunch at 12:45 on a Monday since I work on the area. Clean and well laid out. Friendly staff. An assortment of MIM and similar trophies are promising. Right off the bat we hit a wall as I'm informed by Ty that they won't have any ribs for 30-45 more minutes. The place doesn't seem terribly busy so it's doubtful they sold out. Somewhat of an unforgivable sin not having ribs for lunch rush. I opt for the brisket/shoulder combo with beans and slaw. The generous portion of Shoulder is chopped instead of pulled and somewhat fatty. They've got a good bit too heavy on the sauce. Nice bark chunks and a above average smoke flavor. Id give it a 3.5. The brisket is dark... Cooked to medium well perhaps? Nice spice on the rub and nice thick slices, but it's just too tough. Can't cut with the plastic fork they provide. It too arrived with a puddle of sauce on it. 2.5 here. Beans are basic beans with a little pork in there. a little mushy but not bad. The slaw is very wet with a very creamy sauce. Not my favorite style, but for this type it's not bad. To test the sauces I had trouble finding meat that wasn't heavily pre-sauced, but I did my best. Spicy has a nice vinegar bite with a touch of background heat. The bold is a bit thinner and has a good smokey vinegar taste to it. Both are solid but unspectacular. With the lack of ribs, overcooked brisket, fatty shoulder and oversauced meat across the board I've got to give them a 3 for this trip. May come back again and give them another shot. read more
