THree Fish Tacos for $12.99

If you have been traveling up and down Brunswick Road over the years, you know the building. This was the Brunswick General Store and had a barber shop and the Brunswick post office in the back on of the building. Times change and the building changed ownership and names. It became a couple of operations including the Brusnwick Kitchen. However, the name had was registered with the state and can no longer be used. So it is now Trudies Catfish Cabin. Oh, how I wish they made a good pizza and served beer. We really need this in the area! This isn't the first time I've been here and I'll return. However tonite, I'd like to highlight the Catfish Tacos. Three tacos for $12.99, and folks these are a better deal than many other places fish tacos. The three of them are a meal by themselves. I was with a three others tonite, and for all of us, the three tacos apiece was more than enough. For the two of us, our bill was $35.00 and consisted of two orders of fish tacos, drinks, and one order of french fries for the table. As for the Tacos: First off, these folks are using a nicely cooked catfish filet. It has only a few topping including a secret sauce that does not detract from the taste of the fish. Second off, the tacos were soft and flaky, and the server said these were made on site. Our server tonite was a young man and he was taking care of business; he would have made Quark the bar keeper proud. Lastly, this is a quiet place. The TV was on a basket ball ball game. Tonite the music was generic soft jazz. Sometimes in the afternoon its on an R&B channel for the music. The music sits in the background and doesn't interrupt conversations. The interior is softly decorated amd comfortable. There are two photos that go with this review: Front Door, Fish Tacos While this is not a five star establishment, as nothing disrupted the dinner giving a 5 star rating.

The staff here were very friendly and welcoming. They really had the "southern charm". I really enjoyed the catfish and broccoli. The collard greens were a bit too salty for my liking.

I was really craving fried catfish this Saturday so I yelped catfish near me and this place came up! We dined on a Saturday evening around 630. It's in Arlington but not too deep in Arlington and it's truly a small mom & pops place! There's only parking for like 5 cars in the front and right near the railroad tracks. When we got there, there was only 2 other guest there and There was one waitress. We didn't wait to be seated as we were told we could sit anywhere we liked. They had pandora up on one tv playing some nice jazz music and another tv with football on it (sound off). The decor was very nice! Lights coming from the ceiling and there was even a stage where it looked like they may sometimes do live music(maybe during the brunch hours). Our waitress came right over and took our drink orders, which i must say, their Arnold Palmer was very good! She was very polite and had a smile on her face! She immediately got our drinks and asked if we needed some time to look over the menu. As fellow yelpers, we had already looked at the menu and needed no time. We placed our orders: my son got the 2piece catfish and fries, husband got the catfish sandwich & added cheese with a side of okra. I ordered the large catfish plate (4pieces a of catfish) with collard greens and macaroni and cheese as my sides & a small basket of seasoned fries for my youngest one. It took about 20 mins for everything to come out. Everything down to the fries and okra was fresh and hot! The fish was fried perfectly and had a great taste! Even the collard greens and macaroni was very good! I truly enjoyed everything about this place and will def be back anytime i have that catfish craving! They do take to go orders and i believe they may even do catering! I am so glad to have stumbled across this restaurant! You all should def give it a try!

We just had a truly enjoyable meal at Trudie's. It is a relatively new place, having only been open a couple of months, I think. As such, they are still working out some of the kinks. We were seated for well over 5 minutes before we were waited on. Apparently there was some misunderstanding about whose section we were in. Never mind, because both of the women involved could not have been sweeter or more apologetic. And from then on out, the service was great! We came for catfish, and that's what we got! It was all delicious, but special recognition goes to the macaroni and cheese and the hush puppies! The interior looks nice and fresh, a little quirky (I'm looking at you ladies room ) but it's a great little place all around. It's 25 minutes from my house, but this is our new place to get our catfish fix.

What we ordered: Sweet tea: Being in the South, I always judge a place by its sweet tea. This is the molasses-style sweet tea--very sweet--so I'd recommend cutting it with unsweetened tea. Breakfast egg rolls: Delicious overall. The filling could've used a little more salt or seasoning, but the gravy was absolute perfection. Chicken & waffles: Fluffy waffles that leaned slightly sweet, but paired really well with the flavorful, well-fried chicken and maple syrup. I recommend asking for the syrup on the side. The portion is large enough to share. Buffalo chicken sliders: The clear winner of the day! The buffalo sauce was perfect, the buns were soft and fluffy, the chicken was crispy, and the shoestring fries were cooked just right. Caesar salad: Decent, but the real star was the blackened shrimp. The seasoning was excellent, and I'd definitely try something blackened again! Overall: Very good food, friendly and fast service, and a cute environment. I'd absolutely come back for dinner and would recommend it to anyone.

This time, I tried a new menu item--they add and take away items fairly often so you can try new things. The turkey melt had smoked turkey and came on Texas toast. The sandwich was really good, as one would expect with thick cut bacon and smoked turkey. I was very pleased with this new item and will certainly get it again, unless they add something else new that catches my eye.

The staff is super friendly from the moment I stepped inside the door till the second I left. I was yearning for a burger, so I got the Phoenix and it tasted really good. The only issue was that it was cooked well done and I asked for medium. Not a huge deal. Also, got the Phoenix wings, which were nice and spicy. The only real negative thing I have is the tables were really close together and were very cafeteria style. The guy next to us kept snorting snot and swallowing so that was our cue to leave. If the tables were farther apart, I may not have heard him. Overall great experience and I'll be back to try more deliciousness!

Inside was clean. HOWEVER the female owner was very hostile. We asked for a drink menu and was given two by two different staff members. None of the two staff members stated the prices were not accurate in the menu. Some people at the table ordered margaritas based off the price in the menu. The shock that was had when one of the tabs was an additional 48$ for 4 drinks when the menu stated they were 5.50 each for a regular or 7.50 for a large. When it was brought to the manager's attention, she went to the owner. The owner was very hostile and slapping her hands together borderline yelling at the table then walked away. She acted like a high school girl with an attitude.
