Please leave the seasoning that's put on top of the meat off. It is entirely too salty. The baked beans were salty as well and the potato salad surprisingly lacked seasoning and could've benefited from having a little salt. Minus the seasoning I was about to wipe off, the meat had a mild smoke flavor. Overall Impression: You get your money's worth. I spent about $30 for the sampler and 2 sides. Unfortunately the food was too salty and the meat lacked the smoke flavor I'm accustomed to in Georgia.

I didn't see exactly what I was looking for on the menu...so I finally just asked him for what I wanted to see if it was an option. He said no problem and got me hooked up. I have to say, it was the best pulled pork I've ever had. The combination of flavor and texture was out of this world. I seek out barbecue places all across the country, and I can definitely say this was the best pulled pork I've had. I got a side of mac & cheese, which by appearance I didn't think I would love. It looked a little little bit like nacho cheese sauce... but much like this place, don't judge a book by its cover and take a bite. The mac & cheese was awesome. When I was done eating, I had the chance to chat with them for a few more minutes. Awesome folks, very welcoming and a pleasure to meet them. Next time I'm in town, I will certainly go back. Apparently Elvis and Leonard Heuberger were good friends and Elvis was a regular at Leonard's back in the day. There are lots of articles and photos on the walls of this restaurant which opened originally in 1922. For lunch, we each had the famous Mr. Leonard sandwich which has pork shoulder topped with BBQ sauce and slaw. I had the small plate which came with sides of beans and we chose onion rings for the second side. Both the food and service was great. Tasty sandwiches and with the slaw on top, it makes a wonderful meal. I enjoyed the sides as well. I bought a T Shirt before leaving since I liked this place so much.
