It's really difficult for me to recommend visiting here when their prices keep rising. A bag of coffee this time last year was $13.25 which is already outrageously priced. They've raised the cost of that for us several times this year and it is not at $15.75 for a 12oz bag of coffee. (That's almost a 20% up-charge.) I have been such a faithful fan and customer but I can't justify it at this point. read more

But I had to lower my rating because of all the AI slop on the merch and menus :( The AI "art" comes off cheap and lazy in a cafe that's otherwise very nice, and it's so bad for the environment. read more

Good cafe spot. I've been looking for a good matcha latte in the area, and this is one is better than most by far. I got an iced medium matcha strawberry latte. The strawberry flavor probably boosted the matcha latte, lol. Med Matcha latte is priced at $5.65 but my total came out to $7, so I suppose the extra flavoring added onto that cost. Decent enough! Near the UofM campus and Oak Court mall with free parking. This is a very small, quaint coffee house with uniquely, delicious coffee options and one organic tea. I highly recommend the iced Mexican Mocha Decaf Latte. The Blue Suede hot coffee was also excellent and my child enjoyed the egg and cheese bagel. Cierra's customer service was above and beyond. Picked up an Americano Friday morning. Pretty good and stout coffee. Service was great! I had a gift card so the server had to help me. I need to get accustomed to the self-service kiosk. I don't hate it but it's not one of my favorite things. I like talking to people to order coffee. The place is nice to grab coffee and sit to relax as they have indoor and outdoor seating. There are not that many tables but enough for a small amount of people. I go grab coffee when I am around the area in East Memphis. Will return. I do enjoy their whole bean coffees as Butter Moon and Saving Grace are my favorite flavors. read more

I have become a rather coffee shop junkie. I have my favorites, but have just recently tried Ramblin' Joe's. There seems to be a new trend of drive thru coffee joints with super friendly young employees. Joe's has jumped on that trend, and I am here for it! This place also has my top 3 go to's - chai latte, which I daresay is the best in town, Nitro, and the very occasional Vietnamese coffee. I visit Memphis from time to time. This is My second visit here in a few years. I should definitely make this a more frequent stop as it is close to my family and is such a cute coffee shop that has been around for years. The people who work here always seem cool and helpful. I wanted to try something new yet refreshing so I ordered the iced blue suede macchiato. It is different from other macchiatos I have had, for sure. They don't appear to make anything here. All the food is frozen and reheated and terrible quality. I had an oat milk latte and it was not something I was able to finish drinking. The taste was nothing like coffee. Great location but the goal here seems to be to do the least amount of prep work and the taste of everything is not a factor. I can can frozen breakfast sandwiches and stale coffee concentrate from Kroger. Please taste your own products- the coffee and food. read more

I can't help but be disappointed in this place's it seems like every time we go now there is an issue or something they mess up. Today they just "didn't see the order." So we waited forever then had to show them the order on my phone. Last time they got our order wrong. The time before that their hours were wrong on the app so we ordered drinks but got there and they were closed. It's definitely worse in the last couple years than it was before then. The drinks remain okay, actually a little too sweet usually. The new ordering system is terrible because all the options aren't on there, and you can't apply certain discount codes. The best thing remains the location. If there were other coffee shops in the area, I'd never return here. read more

I have nothing bad to say about this place. I asked for a recommendation on drink because it was my first time there. Staff helped me decide on a drink (Full moon) and after a bit more chatting he recommended getting it half sweet. For those of y'all who actually enjoy coffee, I highly recommend half sweet. I had written a 1-star negative review about my experience with the baristas and the undrinkably sweet Mexican coffee that left us disappointed and sorry we had gone out of our way to seek out a local shop. (I couldn't edit the original post and I thought I was adding to it, but this post replaced the original, so I am recapping, a bit). After my original post, the owner, David, reached out to apologize and compensate me for my experience. Part of the teething problems that come with new hires, it seems. I could tell that he is an owner who truly cares about the experience of his customers and was equally disappointed that it fell below his expectations, I upped my rating by a star, for his efforts. The service was quick and they were very amicable but obviously the most important part is the coffee which was stellar! Everything about this coffee shop reminds me of European coffee kiosks! The store itself is a large kiosk on a strip mall parking lot, and what it lacks in indoor space, it more than makes up in patio seating, which is perfect with me, I love to be in the open air. Their coffee is excellent! I tried the Ugly Mocha; both the coffee and chocolate flavors were bold, unlike other mochas with weak flavor. First time here, after many times driving by I thought I'd give them a try. I've always seen long drive-thru lines so of course I expected a wait. From the time I got into the lane and pulled up to the menu, I was there for 10 minutes. I waited almost 3 minutes at the menu/speaker box and it was silent. I thought maybe it's broken and you have to order at the window. I get to the window and nobody opens it or does anything, so I leave. They could have stated at the box within 30 seconds or the minute that they'd be with me, but instead said nothing. I was so interested in trying this place but I will not be coming back! Right now with COVID the inside of Ugly Mug Coffee is not open, but the drive thru is. This was my first time visiting so I was a little sad I couldn't fully take it in, but its completely understandable and they should do whatever is best to keep their employees safe! Since the drive thru was only open there was a bit of a line. It moved at a good pace, and the employees working seemed to move people along as best they could. I wasn't sure what to get, but the Blue Suede Macchiato sounded good after the description said "signature blue suede flavor" whatever that means it sold me. Signature is always a good sign! It was creamy with what tasted like coconut flavoring? I'm not sure if that was it, but that's what it tasted like to me. It was a new flavor and it was pretty good!
