The atmosphere and decor of this coffee shop are both inviting and antique bringing feelings of the historic times and souls once living in the area. The "team"working here were both professional, kind and friendly. When eating in your entree is hand delivered with a smile in a timely manner. I even got a brief visit from the supervisor/possible owner asking if I needed anything and how everything was going. When I replied with a positive experience he said he will pass on the word to the team. I liked that he gave credit to everyone/team. Started off a raspberry mocha latte. Balanced coffee drink. Inreally like when I can still taste the espresso with the syrup and oat milk. Had pizza and fries for dinner as we hung out last night with friends to catch up during the holiday. The pizza was quite tasty. I enjoyed the sourdough bread that was topped with cheese, white sauce and mushrooms. The pizza dough reminded me of focaccia. Very pillowy and seasoned well. The bottom was crunchy and tasty. The fries were good but the kitchen was out of aioli. Still the fries were hot and the salsa added a different flavor. Service was excellent at the coffee bar. Shoutout to Caleb and his nice, courteous and helpful demeanor. The server at the bar was so nice too. I forgot his name but he was super friendly. My pizza was 1/2 off since it was 4-6 which is the scheduled happy hour. The cool vibes of the hotel lobby are ultra inviting with chairs, sofas, community table and side tables. Hustle & Dough in Memphis is such a fun little gem to stumble across. The whole space feels cozy and inviting, but also a step above your usual coffee-and-pastry spot. The aesthetic is really well done. It's warm, modern, and just a place you actually want to hang out in for a while. They offered substitutions without any fuss, and it honestly worked out for the better. All of their syrups are made in-house, and you can really taste the difference! They're fresh and not overly sweet or artificial. We ordered a Bourbon Mocha and a Carrot Cake Latte (which was absolutely to die for), and decided to keep breakfast on the lighter side with a slice of sourdough and two cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls, though, are not your typical style. Instead of the usual big, fluffy roll, they spiral the dough tightly and bake it that way. The result is this super fun, peel-apart situation where you're unraveling layer after layer. It feels like there are eight layers of cinnamon-sugar goodness to work through! Overall, Hustle & Dough has great coffee, thoughtful house-made syrups, unique pastries, and a really welcoming vibe. Definitely a spot I'd go back to next time I'm in Memphis. read more

I chose the black tea with lavender added assuming it would be hot. However, it was served iced which threw me off a little. The tea was still good however it didnt help me with the cold weather. Atmosphere is 10/10. The cafe is inside a 4 star hotel. Look at the pictures of the hotel lobby, just stunning with reburnished classical design. There are couches and table where you can chill and enjoy some food and drinks. Other reviews about their food looks very good too. But I didn't get to try it . Great place! Went during the morning hours. The 47 Burger was the best burger I've had in a long time. Super tender and juicy! Will definitely buy again. There are little to no available affordable food spots without a waiting list or...with one for that matter. It was a weeknight too! So we didn't care that there was a big plastic sheet hanging from the ceiling and the music of carpentry interrupted the house audio--we wanted FOOD. We got it~ yep, we did. The staff was mildly friendly, that's ok, better than grumpy. There was some famous musician there (No, I don't know who it was). He was being interviewed on camera and his whole band was participating. Steph got her picture taken with him but I still don't know much about him. My turkey sandwich was almost all bread, maybe two very thin slices of turkey. Steph's sandwich was similar, she got more out of it (Flavor wise) by discarding the top piece of bread. First time in Memphis, and found Hustle & Dough for coffee right down the street from my hotel. I travel A LOT for work and am always trying new cafes and coffee shops, and this will go down as one of my favorite. Didn't plan on getting food, but I love a good yogurt parfait. And OMG am I so glad I ordered it. Such a fun spin on a traditional parfait using mandarin instead of traditional berries. The granola was homemade, and you could tell. The yogurt was whipped to perfection, and not too sweet! The cortado was also excellent, and the ambiance was great. Plenty of comfortable seating and tastefully designed. I'm aware that on the whole, this place generally gets a good rep; however, in my experience, it's just been pretty average anytime I've been there - including everything from the drinks to the service to the overall flow. I suppose each time I've been there the service has just been so-so (read: inconsistent) and there always seems to be a longer than necessary wait, no matter how many other customers are there. I've been when it was busy and empty, and there was really no difference. Add in just average cocktails, and I'm just left at that - average. I got the bourbon mocha which had good flavor but texturally I probably should have gotten it hot cause cold the mocha curdled at the bottom. Today I got the avocado toast as well. Also not sure who decided to put pepitas on just bread & avocado but it wasn't a good idea to me. This is a great place for a quick breakfast bite and coffee. We had and pastries and coffees here before going to the Civil Rights Museum. They were delicious! My raspberry and pistachio pastry was flaky and flavorful. My latte was also perfect The shop is literally at the trolley stop and is actually in the hotel lobby for Arrive. The breakfast spot shares space with a beautiful looking bar. We shared table space with two women who were staying there for their work and they said the hotel was nice as well. Mixed berry scone very good, cheddar jalapeño scone exploding with flavor. The Brussels salad and grits bowl exceeded the high expectations set by the Yelp photos and reviews. The grits weren't gritty, they were smooth and creamy. And the date maple syrup, complemented with little puddles of butter - rich sweetness. The sunny side egg on the salad was lightly and perfectly done, just waiting for the wet yolk to be popped and blended with the Brussels. If I lived within a half hour drive this would be a regular morning Mecca. Next time I'm in Memphis I might have to stay at the Arrive hotel just to have H&D an elevator ride away. Date of visit: August 9, 2023 We needed a little recharge after an early flight to Nashville and then the three hour drive to Memphis and Hustle & Dough was the perfect place to do that! Full of cozy chairs and small tables for laptops, we observed a variety of peeps enjoying coffee or a snack while working, lounging, or lounging while they were supposed to be working. While the small kitchen takes a bit to serve up items for groups, everything that comes out is quite good. I would have preferred the Bourbon Mocha to be a bit sweeter, but I'm sure that I could have rectified that if I had tried. This place fell off so long ago. Used to be the best place for a coffee and breakfast. Sadly, it's become a laughing stock. Formerly these menu items were 10/10: Yogurt and granola Choc chip cookie Banana bread As of today I wouldn't order any of it again. It's as if they went from a baker and legitimate culinary staff, to a former cafeteria worker at the VA. Coffee was average, some roaster from Louisiana. It's sad, a once Memphis gem has become gross and honestly the entire time I was in there they were playing blues music...brother it's a coffee shop in 2025 I don't wanna listen to BB King shred for 3 hrs.
