I decided to come here only because it was in walking distant from where I was staying. Came here on Sunday, only waited like 10 minutes with out reservations for a party of two. They took us back to our table and it was like our server forgot about us. Took over 30 minutes for her to get to us and greet us. (I previously was a server and I know how crazy Sundays can get) so we were patient about it but I know any other person would have Atleast complained or left. But once she got to us everything was great. They have such a great variety on their menu. The cinnamon French toast was amazing. Chicken biscuit was amazing. This is a chain that I really wanted to like. The primary problem? Extraordinary amounts of time waiting. And waiting. We hopped online to get our name on the wait list since it was a crazy weekend day. Clearly, everyone wants breakfast at the same time at all of the breakfast/brunch places across Memphis. Like...everyone. So we checked in with the semi-friendly hostess and we waited a REALLY long time for a table. There were 5 of us; 3 adults and 2 kids...and the kids started getting pretty restless. There aren't many places to sit and wait....so the front gets pretty cluster-ey (especially as soon as that party of 12 shows up and there's literally nowhere to move.......) Once we finally got to a table, we were able to get orders in fairly quickly...but this ain't no NYC Greek diner. The food took days to arrive. (I exaggerate sometimes). But this whole thing was a serious time commitment. Thankfully I was with family that I enjoy being with...so that made the loss of my morning worthwhile. The food was OK; nothing special. Our server was really nice and was running around like crazy...but the kitchen made some mistakes and one of our meals was missing for the first 10-ish minutes after 4 of the 5 orders came out. The blueberry pancakes were not cooked. The dough was literally not baked inside the pancakes. The waitress apologized and took them . After waiting for 30 minutes, the waitress finally brought out my severely overcooked pancakes. Retraining is needed for the cooks. read more

Be prepared to wait to be seated (like hour and a half) and then be prepared to wait for your food to be brought out (another 30mins). First time, kitchen forgot to prepare my order. It had to be reordered - got half off ticket. Second time and the next day, same experience. Best advice: Join waitlist via Yelp app and just live your life while waiting. Food is delicious though. I came here with a friend after having heard a different friend rave about it. Our waiter was really cool and did a great job. He had a cool mustache and was very attentive. He asked if I wanted to add Gouda to my shrimp grits for $1.50 more and I agreed that sounded like a wonderful idea. Apparently, it's not on the menu because they don't do it except by request. The Gouda Grits is a side item but the waiter said he thought they made a good combination. He was absolutely correct. This may have something to do with the fact that I'm not fond of plain grits and I love Gouda. Came to this location for lunch with coworkers. We were greeted promptly and seated. The staff were exceptional even before we ordered. We were asked if we wanted a paper menu or use our phones to scan the QR code. Our drinks came out pretty fast. I decided to try something different this time and got the Bourbon Street pancakes while someone else got the shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious including the bacon and country potatoes. We all tried each other's food and left there with the itis. Don't worry about parking as this location has plenty of parking available. Delish traditional breakfast. This place commands a decent sized crowd on any given weekend morning for one reason - they serve a great breakfast with high portions! The wait isn't too bad and they shuttle people through quickly with both prompt wait staff service, even during the pandemic, and the kitchen turns out food in a fast way. I made the trek out to Another Broken Egg from our hotel in downtown Memphis, and I'm glad I did. The server was very friendly and helpful. She even got a bowl of water for the pup, as we sat on the patio. The food was good. My son had the traditional breakfast and I had the lemon curd French toast. Came here for brunch with a group of people on a Sunday before heading out for the day. We didn't have to wait very long considering it was a Sunday morning. The menu had some interesting options that I hadn't really seen before at a brunch place, as well as your traditional options. I tried the Salmon power bowl with added scrambled eggs and it was delicious. Everyone else seemed pretty happy with their opinions as well. Always a tasty experience. We arrived very early and checked in using the Yelp app so the wait was not long for our party if 6. Our server was very nice and helpful. The food was great. The coffee was hot and replenished frequently. The beignets were mouth watering. I had a creole omelet with a side of cheesy grits, amazing. We also had shrimp n grits, great. I will probably never know what Another Broken Egg tastes like based on my experience this past Sunday. I had a party of 7 so I called earlier in the week. I was told to get up at 7am to join an online waitlist, check in at 11:30 to be seated by noon because my group needed to be somewhere at 2. I get that Sunday is a big day and everyone is short staffed. If you can't guarantee an actual reservation or give good advice about how to be seated in time, at least be honest with me that my party will not be seated anytime soon instead of telling me you're working on our table after we've waited nearly two hours since we checked in. We could have made plans elsewhere if the restaurant had just been honest with me about their ability to seat a party that size within our time constraints. This place was just an all around pleasure to have brunch at! Started off with getting added to the wait list by a very busy, very patient, host that was running around trying to assist everyone including answering the phone and taking pick up orders! All while wearing that uncomfortable mask without complaint! We then ordered drinks from Chris the Bartender who also was extremely busy, helping multiple guest and server orders, ringing transactions all while making drinks at the same time! What was astonishing about that was he gave everyone his undivided attention, kept an upbeat friendly attitude and made all that craziness look easy! We were then seated on the patio and Tracy, our server promptly came to our table and took our order. This was one amazing place to pop in. Not only was the food top notch but the precious lady at the front answering phone and running the show was just amazing. Out of the 100 people that were coming and going. When I went to leave. She even remembered my name. The servers were absolutely amazing, fun and so accommodating. This spot was like grand central station. Packed but never once did anyone rush. They were made to feel like they were the only person there. We were passing through Memphis just before 7am and looking for breakfast. We mostly like to go off of photos of omelets and choose which we think look best. The food definitely was delicious and quick! We arrived 5 minutes before 7 and they let us in which was nice. Of course we were greeted and seated immediately. My husband ordered the Hey Lucy omelet and I had the traditional- soft scramble eggs, house made sausage patties and potatoes. The food came out very quickly and was all very hot. As usual the eggs needed seasoning- most breakfast places want you to season to your liking- but I was very happy with my soft scramble. The potatoes didn't seem freshly cut but had great flavor. The highlight was the housemade sausage patties! Wow did they have delicious flavor. I highly recommend getting them with whatever dish you choose. We both ate almost every bite off of our plates which is unusual for us, especially at a breakfast place. Staff was warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend stopping in. read more

Our experience was good, the staff was friendly and informative and my coffee cup stayed full. The hostess was very nice, and gave some menus options and even the dish guy was being helpful to the waiters with a big smile. Since it was our first time we were given a 1/2 order of the beignets (I see you marketing team) they were tasty, but after I ate them I regretted ordering a pancake lol. They were kind of like apple fritters minus apple add orange glaze on the side. Super tasty. Unfortunately the pictures of the food were much more appealing than the taste in some cases. My sausage was burnt, but it's their home made sausage and I liked the flavor, but everyone knows you don't anything you send back before you're done with your meal, understandably so because I'm not the only customer in the restaurant, lol so I don't usually bother... the unburnt sausage would be good but I cannot review about that since it's not what I got. The biscuit and sausage gravy were so good, I wish I had just gotten just that. The eggs were fluffy and cheesy but for real though, some people don't do eggs well and thankfully this restaurant having the word "egg" in it my hopes were high and my expectations were met! Do you love pancakes? Theirs are bomb, and I highly suggest. Weird thing though.. my husband and I were going to each add on 1 pancake to our meals, then I thought about the 2 pancakes that are on the menu... to add one on its $3 but to just order the 2 together it's $11 and that's just 2 pancakes- so if you have that thought, just add them on to your meal. Soooooo the shrimp and grits are their "best seller" and a $15 dish, but we've had much better around Memphis and would stay away from this dish at this restaurant if you've had delicious elsewhere. If you think to yourself "shrimp and grits couldn't get better than _____" ... don't order these. So I've done my fair share of research since I was first given the information in my ServSafe courses and I wish more general public were aware, cracks/chips in dishes are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria that can contaminate your food, making you very sick. Food borne illness most commonly causes gastrointestinal upset. So instead of the food giving you stomach issues, it could be that you just had some extra bacteria from the exposed ceramic you are with your meal. It's a little more serious for women who are pregnant, the rest of us will just be in the bathroom extra long. I understand it's difficult to continuously replace cracked or chipped dishes in such a large volume establishment, I've worked in kitchens so it is common, and I try to not be a crazy person but it does bother me. Unfortunately it is the cost of business and I don't like chipped plates and cups. Last complaint and I'm done, but I feel like I need to speak it into the Broken Egg Universe because it is something I believe in #SaveTheTurtles & please don't put plastic coffee stir straws in my coffee mug. Give me a spoon or a wooden stir stick. PS: Humans can stir their coffee with things other than tiny straws specifically made for stirring coffee. PPS: Elwood's shack now has paper straws for anyone who is waving their fist in the air screaming "here here!" to my straw opinion & is wanting to support small local restaurants trying to make a difference.) Well, this place was just great. The restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly and attentive. I decided to try the shrimp and grits, which was absolutely delicious. ALWAYS one of my favorite restaurants when we found ourselves in the Florida panhandle so I was thrilled when they came to Memphis. Same great food of course but I'm Yelping about the service today. My wife just got out of surgery this morning and was still a little shaken on her feet but was starving, of course. It was obvious I was helping support her when we came in. My wife needed to visit the restroom so I helped her to the door and one of the hostesses, Barbara, noticed my concern and offered to help and/or check on her...twice! THAT is above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Barbara, you understand what working in a service industry is all about!!! 2nd time here and same awesome experience but with the waitstaff this time! Breakfast was delicious! I had the southwest scrambler, the biscuit beignets and some biscuits and gravy.! The biscuits + gravy were the best part, followed by the scrambler. Waitstaff was great, and did a nice job checking on us throughout the meal. My favorite part about this place is that they allow the mobile check in through yelp.
