Ammo AZ is great. The owner runs his business his way and it really sets the store apart from others. I see that Jim P had an issue that Murph was selling ammo at precovid prices during the pandemic. Shouldn't he be thanking Murph for this and not bitching about how he wasn't first in line? Murph then went above and beyond and gave out rain checks to everyone in line? Sounds like Jim P is a little jealous he couldn't buy that ammo and flip it. The great thing about the "free market" is that you have a choice when making firearm purchases. Maybe Jim should go pay more at Alpha Dog, Cabelas, or Shooters World. I like that Murph rewards his loyal customers. I will continue to shop at Ammo AZ for as long as they stay open. I learned about Ammo AZ just over a year ago and finally bought my first pistol from them. Over the last year I have purchased ammo when available, optics, and visited several times looking for a new gun. Inventory turns fast at this store so be prepared for repeat visits if you want something specific. The gun I wanted was purchased by the guy in front of me in line. One in stock as is too common these days. I joked with Jamie (the gun purchaser) that I was hanging out to make sure he passed background check. He laughed, we spoke and chilled with Jason while everything was processed. Turns out I got a different gun, was helped by Jason, picked up some ammo and a new optic. My emotions went from racing to the store for a gun, failing to buy the gun, joking with customers and staff, and the joy of buying a new somewhat limited edition gun instead. This is gun enthusiast life since Covid 19 has changed the world. I appreciate Ammo AZ getting in what they can, trying to update inventory status by live streaming, and being decent people after a year operating at 300%. While their selection is minimal now, they generally have walls full of firearms and generally have great pricing. Now with the pandemic it's hard to find reasonable prices but they still are giving deals to us customers. Wish the staff was more outgoing and not so stand off-ish. Hard to find someone who's willing to help and not express visible frustration by a simple question. Based on their prices I would give this spot 5 stars but their storefront was about a 2 so I think it averages to a 3.5 or so. Their AC was broken and the shop was extremely hot, its old and not in the best of shape. Although I was told they are moving to a new location soon so that is awesome. I am not sure about their online selection but the in-store selection was rather limited in terms of caliber and manufactures - granted I purchased something they do not have in the showroom there is a lot to be said about that. The guys were knowledgeable about the products they sell so that helps to make a more informed decision. Cant wait to see where the new shop is located and make another purchase. Don't forget that Zeus will most likely greet you on the way in. read more

The sales associate pulled the gun off the floor and put it up by the register for us so no one else could take it. This is by far my favorite gun store in the valley. I never mind making the drive from Mesa because I know that no other store can beat their prices. I appreciate that their staff greets you almost immediately and is always following up to see if you need any help. The person who wrote the review claiming he was singled out for being black is an idiot. I'm white and am treated the same way every time I come in, which is like a customer that the staff wants to make sure to serve appropriately. This store is incredibly awesome guys. Now I've only ever been here twice. The last time was on March 24th 2020. Had to wait in line for about 4 hours. But if you need guns or ammo. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!! Every single gun that they have on display is far cheaper than you will find anywhere else. And the staff there was absolutely amazing, for how busy they were. Best gun store in Arizona. If you're looking for a pistol or AR trigger this is the spot. They have an entire table of ar trigger that you can try from all the major trigger manufacturers. I wish I would've come here before buying my ar trigger. Then they have like 6 tables of pistols probably about 80-100 pistols that aren't behind a glass case. I've spent hours going back and fourth feeling which pistol fits better in my hand which has a better trigger. They also have more high end rifles than anyone like a scar, the Q, tavor, Sig MCX and Barrett's. This place is a gold mine for testing products before you buy them. All there inventory is priced better than sportsman's warehouse or other big name stores. Their ammo is also priced well. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable.
