I came in after 2 burglaries, the second while I was home and the door came down in front of me. I bought a firearm and ammunition, paid in full, and waited in my car making calls, waiting for my background check. What nobody told me clearly was that the expected 6-7 day delay wasnt about NICS. It was the store. Manager guy decided my driver's license was unacceptable because it shows my middle initial rather than my full middle name. Not my passport card, not my Level One fingerprint clearance card, not property records confirming I own my home, not federal documentation with my full name that I located and drove in the next day. I spent a day chasing paperwork under the impression I was waiting on a federal check. When I finally asked the manager directly whether a spelled-out middle name on a driver's license is legally required, he told me repeatedly that it was the law. (It isn't. Federal regulations require a valid government photo ID; nothing requires a middle name spelled out on it, and Arizona adds no such rule. He then acknowledged this was store approval, and volunteered that not all stores would put me through it (apparently this was as a point of pride). With no firm timeline and an unresolved safety problem at home, I asked for a refund on merchandise I had paid for and never received. I was told store policy meant they'd keep $68. It took roughly fifteen minutes of argument to get my own money back in full -- money the store was holding for a product it had decided not to give me. He actually seemed to enjoy the whole thing, like mean girl bureaucrats or the paperwork fiends in the movie Brazil. (The late 20s salesman with the moustache was professional, knowledgeable and informative and helped me with concerns about reducing the possibility of a stray bullet entering my neighbors home. I have zero complaints there). The manager with the long wispy beard couldn't even pretend to not take delight in distressing a customer - and it started before I'd spoken a word to him. He invented a problem, maybe thinking the $68 for nothing was a bigger profit, or just to cause purposeless problems when I'd just had a home invasion. If you want to buy a real '60s Soviet style experience and leave empty handed, you'll find it at Tombstone Tactical - where the 2nd amendment is just a suggestion. read more

On December 15, 2025, at approximately 1:45 PM, I visited the store intending to purchase an H&K 9mm MP5, which I had previously seen at a very competitive price. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing due to the lack of attention and professionalism from the staff on duty. Although the store was not busy at the time, I was initially ignored upon entering. I understand that one staff member was assisting another customer, which is completely reasonable, but there appeared to be only one person behind the counter. After waiting for some time, I sought assistance from another employee, who seemed visibly bothered and uninterested in helping. He provided little to no information about the firearm and gave the impression that he would rather not be there. After waiting roughly twenty minutes, I was finally shown the weapon, but the interaction lacked enthusiasm, courtesy, and professionalism. While I recognize that every business can have off days, I believe that all customers--regardless of the cost of their intended purchase--should receive respectful and attentive service. I wanted to share this feedback not out of frustration, but in the hope that it helps improve the customer experience for future visitors. Tombstone Tactical is a conglomerate of snakes seeking to entrap the unsuspecting. I called them four times on July 18, 2025 regarding the purchase of a specific firearm. The price was set at $156219 inclusive of shipping. I asked how many they had and Al said several. I said two and Al said more that two. I said I would call back Monday to purchase. Al said that's fine. As calling this day, 7-21-25 Al said they did not have any more at the lower price , "only at the higher price". All our calls are logged and recorded and we can corroborate every word verbatim. We will never conduct business with Tombstone Tactical ever again. This store seriously needs to improve its customer service. We were waiting patiently for quite a while for our turn, and the staff clearly saw us sitting there the entire time. As it got closer to 5:00 PM, they started shutting things down. When we finally tried to look at some merchandise, they repeatedly told us they were closed. We understand that the store closes at 5:00 PM--the hours are posted on the door. That's not the issue. The problem is that the staff never informed us that they were no longer taking customers or that the number line was closed. They allowed us to sit there and wait, knowing they weren't going to help us. When we said we just wanted to quickly look at some items, they refused and kept dismissively saying "Have a good day, goodbye," in a rude and unprofessional manner. It felt very disrespectful and dismissive, especially after we had waited patiently for so long. Basic courtesy goes a long way. If the staff knew they weren't going to take any more customers, they should have simply told us upfront and closed the number line instead of letting people wait unnecessarily. I've been here before, but this experience was much better. Sometimes small talk is needed to fill the awkward pauses while waiting for everything, especially when purchasing a firearm. I ended up talking about concealed carry issues with being an overweight female. Most people I follow for concealed carry techniques are individuals with next to flat stomachs that are not obese like me. I was told of some other options for holsters that seem to be good for average and overweight size individuals. I picked up a new Sig Sauer and they told me about some modifications I can make down the line, which I did not even know are possible. It might be more cost effective to do modifications rather than buy a new firearm every year or so. They offer warranties on their firearms, and they have fliers about gun safety. Overall, the staff are knowledgeable, they do what they can to help, and they make sure to offer information. read more

I've been buying guns here for the last 8 -10 or so years, prices are good, staff is knowledgeable but if you are looking to buy anything g other than a gun (accessories, ammo, etc.) the experience is worse than most other gun stores. I came in today looking to buy some new hearing protection. I grabbed what I wanted and got in line at the register, and stood there for several minutes while the only employee at the register helped someone with paperwork. First of all this seems like a really poor idea to have the only guy running a register process paperwork, second of all he was very obviously averting his eyes so he wouldn't have to address the growing line of people. There were 3 employees helping one person at the "tax stamp" counter while we stood there without anyone helping us. Eventually the employee acknowledged the line and said he'd be with us in a minute, he then went back to ignoring us while he started making photo copies of paperwork. At no point did ANYONE call for assistance, no one else offered to help the line, and after a few more minutes of being ignored I just left the headset and went to Cabela's. If you want to buy a gun this is the best place in the west valley. If you want to buy anything else you're better off going almost anywhere else. read more

My husband wanted to come down to ask about a gun in person they didn't have in stock to get delivered to the store. They were able to look it up. Make sure it included everything the kit should. The gun inventory is very impressive and they have lots of ammunition. I wanted to check out a hk vp9 I've been thinking about buying however no one helped me or even asked if I needed help. I'm not sure if they have a number system like at a deli counter but like no one came and asked if I needed anything. I would've loved to have been shown the hk vp9. They had several in the case. But that didn't happen. They sell gun parts and backpacks and survival things. But if anything the customer service could've been way better. read more

Then she said they sell it new for $650 (lie). I tell her it's on the website at $1,200. then she says oh we buy at 60%. I say- thats $700, then she says fumbles a bit and says that they use a different value, and it's $800, and I say: well 60% of $800 is $450, and she says oh well with the market, bla bla bla. Well had a shot gun shipped there . So of coarse I had to do the paperwork due that I didn't have my CCW. So got on the computer to do it I had made a few mistakes ! And had to pay $25 for them receiving my shotgun so after doing the form I was told that they only allowing me to do it one more time!!! And if I made a mistake they would cancel my order a ship my shotgun so after gun which already payed for ! Tombstone Tactical, Phoenix, AZ In October, I bought a $500-gun from Tombstone Tactical. The sale went smoothly and I was happy with my purchase. I had signed up for a Handgun 1 class at a local training center and waited over a month for my 4-hour class before using the gun. During my class, I found that the gun jammed after every round. My teacher took it apart and said it was filthy inside from old oil hardening after it had sat in a warehouse for a long time. She advised me to return it to Tombstone, which I did as soon as I left class. The clerk looked at the gun for a while and eventually took it to a back room for about a half hour. He returned it to me, telling me he had tried to clean it but it was "really dirty." He said he didn't know if it would work but advised me to "Take it back to the range and try again. If it jams again, bring it back." I explained that I had paid over $500 for this gun which didn't even work, and I wasn't going to book a date with six friends and go to the range only to have a broken gun, have to rent one, and be forced to drive all the way back to Tombstone on another day to do what should have been done today. The store is in another city from where I live. He leaned back on the counter and said, "Well, do you want to use the warranty?" which I had wisely purchased. "Of course," I said, "If that is the only way to take care of this today." He used his computer to process my warranty claim. I asked when would I get a new gun, and he replied, "I have no idea. Whenever they get to it, I guess." He was rude and dismissive the whole time, as soon as he learned I was not there to purchase a gun. It's been a month, and I have heard nothing from the warranty company. This is not a major issue, but I cannot recommend Tombstone Tactical as a reliable source for firearms. The other customers were more friendly to me when I bought the gun than the staff had been, and the clerks were quite rude when I came to ask them to help with a brand new gun they had sold me that did not work. I have spent thousands here and have been coming here for quite some time. Many of the staff is friendly and some are not. Their selection of firearms is pretty good and their prices are very very hard to beat anywhere in the valley and as somebody who has bought hundreds of firearms, I would know. I believe you should write a gun store based on four basic principles. Number one is firearm selection and they have that. Number two is firearm price and they have that as well. Number three is customer service and I would say they get about a 75% out of 100% Number four is the ability to trade in firearms. Most gun stores for those who don't know will buy used guns so you can use them as a trade-in towards your purchase. I've been doing business in the Phoenix area for a very long time. I think I bought my first firearm probably somewhere around 1998. I have dealt with many stores and the one thing the store is almost criminal with is what they were offer to buy your firearm for. In the past, I have left their store because of a terrible offer and driven up the street to pawn first which is a local pawn shop, by the way pawnshops do not have the best deal there are other gun stores that will give you much more, But the pawn shop will often give me up to $150 to around $200 more for a firearm. They fail in this department. There is one more thing and that is the ability to lay away. They do offer this however they're the only store that I'm familiar with in the entire valley from Scottsdale to Tempe to surprise that actually charges a $25 fee just to put a firearm on layaway, besides the money needed to Put towards the firearm. That $25 fee simply goes in their pocket. If you think about it, that's really five things to judge and with a five star potential review it's basically like one star is earned for each one of these areas. Based on these factors, I think three out of five stars is very fair. read more

Now when I shop online with them I notice the prices of items I'm thinking over rise significantly when I come back to complete the purchase the next day. I get it. The worst part is the typically ridiculous wait time. I've asked them why this is always a problem and they say they can't find enough people. I always have a good experience buying at Tombstone. The prices are great and the staff is knowledgeable. I always shop around first, and typically wind up buying at Tombstone in the end. I also appreciate them letting you know if "in stock" means on the shelf at the local store or at a warehouse and maybe a few weeks out. I've had issues with other vendors telling me my "in stock" item will ship in 3 or 4 weeks, just be honest, man, we all know what in stock means!
