With ordering several guns over the year and needing to use an FFL, I chose Strapt since it was the closest to my house. Unfortunately, the customer service is the least of their concern. They act as if you're interrupting their day and they don't seem the least bit interested in helping anyone. While waiting for all my paperwork to be processed, I watched a couple of other customers walk in inquire about some gun parts. The obese fat guy behind the counter labored to get up and ask the customers again what they were looking for. Clearly the customers didn't know exactly and needed some guidance, but he didn't seem interested in helping them out or even educating them, so the customers walked out. Then the fat guy makes a snide comment about the potential customers and sits back down to look at his computer. This is the third time I've visited this store and the less than inviting atmosphere is the only thing consistent. Additionally, my son makes custom supressor sleeves and I asked him if he'd talked with the owner about potentially selling his product their since they don't seem to have any in the store. My son said he wouldn't bother because every time he visits their store, nobody says hello or even acknowledges him to ask if they can help him find anything. He said he's tried to strike up a conversation, but they seemed more annoyed that anyone is even in the store. I'm not sure how these guys make their money, but it's sad that I'm going to have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to use another FFL because of the bad experience. read more

I'm 45 years old disabled veteran, and I had to go to Phoenix Arizona for my health originally I thought I was gonna have to find a nursing home. Long story short TBI exposure left me with some medical problems I was overheated needed to go to the VA for some fluids. I'm a law abiding American was my enhanced permit and no firearms are allowed on VA property. I almost passed out. It was 120° outside getting my firearms out of the vehicle (I had to dig) I was living in campgrounds and things to that nature to make appointments. I had almost no money until my check went in two days asked if they could watch my firearms while I went to the VA. I was there longer than I thought so the next day they charged me $35 to hold onto my firearms. Which is OK if when I was waiting in the morning, parked in the shade where a big lifted truck that says STRAPPED ARMORY(if you're a guy and driver lifted truck that says strapped. Your definitely not enough said) he pretended to not know me. Trying to see if he could skate by saying didn't leave firearms there. I'm in tried to convince me he didn't know me. My firearms are better than anything. He had. When I was there before my brain was swelling and I was stuttering and had to give him a number to call if I passed out... yeah. Dishonesty! Yeah that's the type of guy you're dealing with when you go there. I'm from East Tennessee. It might just be a different world out here., But the man knows about as much about fishing as he does firearms and that's not much. He knows how to make money and that's about it. integrity is zero! I will say the young man that waited on me sort of large fellow. I can't remember his name tattoos really good dude solid he should be running the place. I actually think he's a good dude probably a Vet. Somebody needs to hire that guy and pay him, he's running show. I had to sell a 1911 there at an enormous loss just to get gas to get up the road. That's on me. Everything else is between him and his maker. In my opinion- Just a warning to anyone out there that was thinking about doing business with him if he's willing to try to rip off of Vetran with a head injury... enough said.... read more

I lived just down the street from Strapt Armory for years and, for whatever reason, never stopped in. After moving away, I ended up buying a pistol here, and now I'm kicking myself for not checking it out sooner. It's a solid little store and range tucked into Arcadia, and it's way more impressive than I ever expected. The staff is knowledgeable and laid-back and creates a welcoming environment that makes the whole experience enjoyable. The moral of the story is that if you live in the area, you should definitely stop by. You won't regret it. read more

Generally friendly guys, I've never had a problem with this shop. I've purchased a few firearms from them without any problem, and have been generally satisfied with their service and happy with their convenient location. In times past when I've come in to find AR parts or accessories, their selection was lacking and ultimately I was able to find what I was looking for elsewhere, but I knew they had an in-house gunsmith and needed a fairly quick muzzle device installation - a Surefire Warcomp for a Noveske short barreled AR upper. A single star hasn't been earned, but Yelp won't let me post without at least a 1 star selection. Had the gunsmith not been dishonest with me, I'd have at least given them 3 of 5 stars, earned for friendliness and timeliness, and an ignorant installation. A 4 or 5 out of 5 would have been earned for an educated, proper muzzle device installation, not lost a part of the rubber picatinny rail hand guard, not gotten Rockset on my picatinny rail, and MOSTLY not lied about the tool being a one-time-use only tool so that they could steal/keep it, cover up that it was lost, or whatever the situation was that kept him from returning my tool I provided to him for the installation. Upon asking for the tool after I paid for the service, I was informed that it was a "one-time-only" use tool and that it was "chewed up and garbage". After seeing that the muzzle device was not properly centered and being told that the tool was trashed, it became apparent to me that arguing over or challenging the lie would be useless, that I wasn't going to trust that the job was done properly if I had requested the gunsmith to fix it and therefore I left to find another armorer. Anything more would have seemed prideful or arrogant coming from me inside their shop which is inappropriate conduct on my behalf. So I learned, and I won't be back. Normally, even with all the problems in quality of workmanship, I'd not leave any review, if it couldn't be a good review - maybe someone was having a bad day, honest mistakes happen. But a gunsmith - the actual professional I'm entrusting my firearm with on which to perform professional work - was dishonest. This is intolerable - especially in a service industry. Even if the tool was trashed, he should have offered to give it back to me in such condition and not assume that throwing it away would be acceptable. His actions cause me to think that he lied and stole from a customer. A quick YouTube search on his phone that I've seen him use behind his gunsmithing desk would have brought him to a 4:58 video by Surefire on the proper installation of said device. It can be seen here youtube. com/watch?v=CjA9-VbmrXA&t=115s Surefire does not sell throw-away, one-time-use tools with the Warcomp muzzle device. The Warcomp muzzle device is designed specifically to be oriented in a manner to maximize muzzle-rise and reduce muzzle-flash. The orientation in which the gunsmith installed the device would have shots compensating up and left for each shot. The Surefire patented Fast-Attach collar should be installed at 6 o'clock dead-center, not at the 7 or 8 o'clock position. This experience has left me questioning whether or not the device was torqued to the required 30 ft/lbs specs (if a torque wrench was even used), whether the shims were properly installed, if the Rockset was properly applied (a common item for misapplication), whether the muzzle threads and comp threads were properly cleaned beforehand, or if the firearm would even be safe to fire at this point. I left their shop feeling taken advantage of by a gunsmith who, over a tool worth a couple of dollars, has permanently lost my business and will forever be remembered for the lies he fed to me when others ask about my opinion of local gun shops/gunsmiths. Vast depth of knowledge and willing to work with you to create the exact weapon you're looking for without "up selling" at every turn. They'll build whatever you want and will respect your budget. They're knowledgeable, patient and polite, guiding you through whatever you need. In many ways, this is an armorer's shop that sells weapons and all their associated components rather than a gun store that has a part-time admirer who can look at your weapon. Charlie was amazing! I went to Strapt to build my first AR. Charlie and the guys helped me pick out all the right parts for my build. Over the course of 6 months I got all my pieces together and Charlie told me to come back and build it in the shop! Of course I listened and thank god because I didn't know what I was doing. Charlie and the guys helped me assemble the entire rifle from start to finish. They were very patient with me and made sure everything was done right. I wanted iron sights but they didn't have any at the time so Charlie pulled a set off of his own weapon and installed them on mine! What a stand up guy! I left with the firearm I'd been dreaming of! The time has come that I felt it was necessary to purchase a firearm and I picked the perfect spot. Charlie and his team worked with me the grip, weight and overall comfort to make me feel the best taking my security into my own hands. Not only did I find the handgun for me it was equipped with 3 clips and bullet loading device for ease. I bought ammunition, targets, holster and concealed carry adapter for my truck. I went here for a Glock 17 slide and parts kit paid for it and left. It's wasn't until I realized that they forgot the extractor that they over charged me and sold me some used parts but failed to mention that they were selling me used parts. This guy has to be going bankrupt, or hard up, or something, I can't believe he's still in business. I live in Washington state, I uniquely have an AZ drivers license with my Wa address on it. I was on vacation with my wife in April, and on the 24th I was curious to see if I could legally buy a gun in AZ. Once again, unique situation with the driver's license. Strapt was the second store I went to, they had the pistol I was looking for, and I wasn't able to find one up till then in Washington. I asked Charlie, who I found out to be the owner, if I was able to legally buy the gun. He said we would have to do a background check and I would either instant pass and able to fly home with it, or I would be delayed on the decision, in which case I told him I wouldn't want it. At that point I started coming down from the initial impulse. I realized that my wife had the debit card I needed, but my buddy said he would cover it until we got to the bank. My flight left the next morning, which I told him, but I figured if it works, cool, if not I'll wait at home. I should've trusted my gut. I did the background, and went to lunch while everything was processing. I went back 30 mins later and Charlie said it was cool, I could buy the gun, so he charged me and even rang me up for a FAA approved case to take the gun home in. All of a sudden, he tells me that I need to give him an ffl transfer address in Washington, and that he would ship it out at a later date for a fee. I reminded him that I didn't want the gun under those circumstances. He told me, I shit you not, that his son got hurt, and he needed to leave immediately, but his employee would handle the refund. Conveniently his employee couldn't do the refund without Charlie, shocker. Needless to say, I got the runaround. That was April 24th, and today it's June 30. A lot of this was my fault, but this guy is truly dishonest. I posted screenshots of our emails after I got into a phone argument with him asking for my refund. He acted all offended that I would question his integrity, and then cussed me out and hung up on me. I called back to inform him that I have a police report and everything. The first email is me trying to be reasonable, then it's pretty apparent what happens next. I just hope I don't have to bother with taking his ass to court, but for him, I would. read more
