I'm embarrassed to say that while looking through my reviews I noticed I never reviewed LowerGear....this is far far far way overdue. For any and all of your outdoor need you need to go see Dallas at LowerGear. I first rented all my gear from Dallas when I was new into backpacking, I then bought used gear from Dallas shortly after... Well it was supposedly used gear but it was in brand spanking new condition. Dallas has great prices for rentals, purchasing new and used equipment... And I can't express how knowledgeable and awesome he is and his staff are .... Dallas, I told you I was back in Phoenix... You need to put your best sleeping bag, one person tent, mattress pad... and knows what else I can come up with aside for me because I will be in to get it very soon... Personally, it needs to warm up a little bit for me... I can't handle that cold weather backpacking.

Took a backpacking trip to Nepal to stop human trafficking. I'm not much of a camper, so renting made perfect sense. GREAT service. They answered (very politely) all my dumb questions. Ordered up a backpack, tent, sleeping back, air mattress, camp chair and backpack rain cover. Everything showed up right on time. Gear was in great shape. In Nepal we were camping on a mountain top and a corker of a storm blows in. 50 mph winds, hail and a frog drowner of a rainstorm arrives. My tent took it like a champ. Dry as a bone and no stakes came up. Just awesome. Two other guys with me had enough water in their tents to launch a boat. Very impressed with the balls of the gear LG rents out. Couldn't recommend it more.

I came here a few days ago looking for vertical ascend gear out of caves. I was greeted by Jason and he was really helpful and knowledgeable. I needed very specific gear, and Jason was very patient with me and showed me where I could find sit harnesses, chest harness, chest ascender, hand ascende, foot loops, etc. I didn't find exactly what I needed but got a good idea on the things I need to build a personalized vertical gear set for myself. And of course, while I was looking for cave gear, I wandered around looking at all the fabulous gear they have, I was like a kid in a candy store. I could spend hours in here. I started looking at hydration packs as I need to replace mine and found a very nice military edition and will come back to purchase this soon. I also saw plenty of Petzl bags, and very tempted to purchase another. They also carry so much Petzl gear, you will be in heaven here. Also, some great hiking shoes and some sleek, but we'll performing water shoes. I then wandered into kayaks and Jason even showed me the Padillac they have! I've gotten into paddleboarding and kayaking for the summer and now want one of each! This place rents them and sells them. I then went to check out some wetsuit gear, and they have a really nice selection of wetsuits, gloves, booties, etc. I really love this place and it is definitely gonna bankrupt me, but so worth it. High quality gear, more extensive selection than REI and the staff here know what they are talking about. If you need something specialized, this is the place for you. I'll be back here soon!

It was extremely rude and disrespectful to everyone who had been patiently waiting their turn. What made the situation even worse was that no one from the store seemed to address it or manage the situation, even though the area was busy. Basic courtesy and respect for other customers should be expected in a public place, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. While the store itself may be popular, experiences like this leave a really negative impression. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with how the situation played out. I hope that some day, this issue gets addressed and resolved. Needless to say, I won't be coming back & would highly recommend staying away from this location.

I found a bunch of high end beautiful golf apparel that they also sell at retail prices at their competitor's sporting goods store. My wife and I had a few out-of-town friends in town and decided to hit up Buzzed Up Adventures for a summer friendly activity in the Valley. Dylan was very communicative and professional when coordinating with him. He was on-time the morning of our float and even had some coolers available for us to use that he stocked with ice and water. Dylan got the 6 of us all loaded into our kayaks and onto the water after a few quick admin things. Dylan gave us options on the river of different paths we could take, took some group photos for us, and taught us about some of the wildlife in the area.
